Abstract

Background: Cases of poor nutritional status in toddlers can be found in families that are materially classified as rich, this is due to clean and healthy living behavior that is not in accordance with health standards. In Girimukti Village, Cibatu Health Center, Garut Regency, the majority condition of the education is in low level and only 1591 (32%) of 5569 patriarch had passed Junior High School, and has income in low level, between 300 - 500 thousand (IDR) per month.Purpose: Knowing The effect of family mentoring program (FMP) on improvement of nutritional statusMethods: The type of this study was quasi experimental with pretest, posttest and control design with pretest-posttest quasi experimental design. The study sample was carried out using stratified random sampling with a population of malnourished mothers and under-fives for the Girimukti village area, the working area of Cibatu Community Health Center was 61 people.Results: Statistical test results with a confidence level of 95% showed that there were changes in parents' knowledge about nutrition. The average change in calorie intake consumed by toddlers in the treatment group reached 6.92% of the original calorie intake and the average change in calorie intake consumed in the control group reached 2.10% of the original calorie intake. The results of statistical tests show that there are significant differences in the average changes in calorie intake consumed by toddlers between the treatment group and the control group (p <0.05).Conclusion: From the results of the study it can be concluded that the knowledge and attitudes of mothers of children under five who received family nursing care by students were better than mothers who did not receive family nursing care.

Abstract

Background: Fast food is one that causes the risk of obesity and cause health problems. Nowadays, the occurrence of obesity in children tends to increase, and many other factors that can make obesity in children.Purpose: Knowing that factors associated with occurrence of obesity among student in Elementary School (Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2)  Labuhan Bandar Lampung 2018Methods: This research was quantitative with cross sectional approach. Population in this research is all student at Elementary School (Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2)  Labuhan Dalam Bandar Lampung with the sample of 63 respondents (simple random sampling).Results: Finding, genetic factor were 33 (52,4%)  respondents with p-value 0,001, food intake factor 35 (55,6%) respondent with p-value 0,010 and physical activity factor 32 (50,8%) respondent with p-value 0,007.Conclusion: There is a relationship between genetic factors, food intake factor and physical activity factor with the occurrence of obesity among student in Elementary School (Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2)  Labuhan Bandar Lampung 2018. Suggestion, this research could be used as base data, also need to do another research with number of respondent and different method. School management to report to public health services (Puskesmas) to provide nutritionist to give health education to student about obesity.

Abstract

Background: At the time of hospitalization of children, they feel uncomfortable such as an anxiety. Statistics data base in 2010 in Indonesia reported that in 35 of 420 children has stress during hospitalization. However during hospitalization the children must be cooperate in treatment for recovery.Purpose: Knowing the influence of play therapy: origami and puzzles for reducingan anxiety to children at Pertamina Bintang Amin Hospital, Bandar Lampung-Indonesia 2018.Methods: Quantitative researchwith design used quasi-experimental. The study population was all patient at pediatric ward at Pertamina Bintang Amin Hospital, Bandar Lampung Indonesiawith 50 children as sampleand used instruments: Zung Self-Rating Scale (ZSRAS) and Tailor Manifest Anxiety Scale (T-MAS).The statistical analysis used an independent T test.Results: Finding significane different of the total score of anxiety before and after play therapy (before play therapy: origami and puzzle were 20.2and20.7) and (after play therapy: origami and puzzle were 14.9 and 12.7). The total score rates was descrease of 5.27 in origami therapy and of 8.0 in puzzle therapy with p-value of 0.000.Conclusion: There was differences effect in both of play therapy: origami and puzzle to reducing an anxiety.It is suggestions to management hospital to provide play therapy such as origami and puzzle as an alternative therapy to reduce anxiety to the children due to hospitalization and thus supporting the healing process.

Abstract

Background: Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) is one form of community based health efforts which is managed and implemented by volunteer community health workers. That performance is very important to monitor the toddlers. The coverage of toddlers weighed at Ngaras at public health Service has decreased by 2014 reached of 87.0% in 2015 reached of 100.4% in 2016 reached of 64.0% but in 2017 it only reached of 68,2%.Purpose: To know the correlation of knowledge, motivation, training among volunteer community health workers at public health services West Pesisir Province of Lampung  2018.Methods: Quantitative research type with cross sectional design and population recruited  all of volunteer community health workers. Data collected by using questionnaire sheets. Analysis of data used univariate and bivariate (Chi Square).Results: The results showed that the volunteer community health workers have best performance with number of 45 volunteers (69,2%) comparing with who has a poor performance with number of 20 volunteer (30,8%). Based on bivariate analysis following in several parts of the volunteer such as knowledge with  p-value of 0,001 OR 4,889 (1,5 to 15,3 95% CI), motivation with p-value 0,034 OR 3,778 (1,2 to 11,4 95% CI), and the training with p-value 0,009 OR 5,429 (1,6 to 17,8 95% CI).Conclusion: There is a relation of knowledge, motivation and training for the performance of volunteer community health workers. It is suggested to management of public health centre on Ngaras to conduct more intensive training related to volunteer training which includes knowledge sharing which will improve on volunteer community health workers performance on task, and motivation to intensify duty of passion of volunteer community health workers

Abstract

Background: Transgender is no longer classify a mental health illness from World Health Organization (WHO). The number of this community up to 3.9 million or 1.6% from Indonesia citizen. Transgender face social discrimination and stigma toward themselves as a result from community and family rejection. This condition could affected their process of self-acceptance and self-concept.Purpose: This study aimed to describe the self-acceptance and the self-concept among transgender in Indonesia    Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in transgender community at Srikandi Pamungkas, Lembang. This study used a convinience sampling and 30 respondents agreed to participate. Data was collected using self-questionnaire and consist of 52 item questions with.Results: This study showed that the total of transgender with good self-acceptance is 17 (56.7%) and good self-concept is 16 (53.3%)Conclusion: Most of the transgender in the transgender community had good self-acceptance and good self-concept from the support system in community environment.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by an abnormality of insulin secretion, insulin work, or both. DM cases in Indonesia as many as 8,5 million cases in 2013. Prevalence based on diagnosis or symptoms according to the health departement of 2,1%.Purpose: To know the correlation of type 2 diabetes mellitus on triglyceride levels and blood pressureMethods: This study used secondary data derived from the medical record status of patients with diabetes mellitus. The method used is analytic observational with cross sectional approach. Sampling technique using purposive sampling. The population of this study is the diabetes mellitus type 2 in 2017 as many as 151. Sample of 109 respondents. Data analyzed by univariate and bivariate using Chi Square analysis.Results: The frequency of respondent characteristic on female gender as much 57,8%, based on age group >45 old counted 58,7%. Blood pressure frequency distribution found hypertension as much 63,3%. High frequency distribution of triglyceride levels is 67,9%. The Chi Square analysis result there is a significant correlation of type 2 diabetes mellitus on triglyceride levels and blood pressure with Odds Ratio 6,865 with p-value of 0,009.
