This study focused on answering the research problems: 1) How the description of Panting Music in Banjarmasin is, 2) How the development process of Panting Music in Banjarmasin is, 3) What social values are in Panting Music, and 4) What norms are contained in the social values?. This study was used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, which was not limited to data collection and compilation, but includes the analysis and interpretation of the data meaning. This study is based on the theory that assesses the function and form of Panting Music performance in South Kalimantan. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the function of the music has undergone many development. At first, Panting Music is referred to as a musical accompaniment of Bajapin art, where Panting has a function just as a supplementary part in the Bajapin. As the development of the Panting itself, it does not only serve as a dance accompaniment of Bajapin anymore, but also as the art of Panting. As one of the traditional arts that develop in the community, Panting is also as a medium to tighten the relationship between fellow citizens serves as entertainment, education, and high religious values contents.Keywords: Panting Music, description,development process, social value, social norms

This study aimed to describe parenting peasant family in the Loklahung village. The method used is qualitative descriptive method. The results showed family upbringing farmers in the Loklahung in education patterns parenting authoritative (democratic), in terms of discipline pattern of parenting authoritarian, the impact of social changes that occur in the family in the Loklahung village not only the mother who is in charge of taking care of children but father also took part in parenting and the mother is also involved in making a living as farm stays and weaving baskets, and parenting peasant family in the village of Loklahung in shaping children's character based on the character values such as the nature respect and respect for others are responsible, fair, and caring social studies can be used as a source of learning that focuses on value (value-based).Keywords: parenting, family farmers, values, social studies learning

This certainly brings great effects to teaching and learning process, and one of the effects is the implementation of Scientific Approach which develops 5M (observing, questioning, experimenting, reasoning and communicating). It requires the understanding of the teachers of social studies on teaching and learning in elaborating the scientific approach used in Curriculum 2013. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The primary data sources are two Social Science teachers at SMPN 1 Tamban and the secondary data sources are taken by observation, interview and documentation. The research results showed that Social Science teachers in SMP Negeri 1 Tamban have understood the teaching and learning approach of Curriculum 2013 which is scientific with 5 M activities including observing, questioning, experimenting, reasoning and communicating or collaborative networking. With the facilities and infrastructures which are less supportive toward scientific teaching and learning activities in Social Science, the teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Tamban have been able to develop their creativity by directing students to think critically and creatively to build their independence in solving social problems in society. This can be exposed through the use of scientific teaching and learning model like Problem-Based Learning, Discovery and Inquiry. Social Science teachers creativity in scientific teaching and learning activities can be seen in the teachers efforts in the formulation of the lesson plan based on the steps in the scientific teaching and learning activities, the preparation of materials, the classroom management, media use, the utilization of study sources, the implementation of a teaching and learning model and the submission of study results.Key Words: creativity of teachers, teaching and learning process of social studies, scientific approach

The aims of this research are to know: (1) society education conditions dayak maanyan (2) its happening process social change culturize with mark sense education (3) education role tu cultural social change. Observational location to be done at warukin’s village tanta’s district tabalong’ regency. This research utilize qualitative method. Data collecting rech with interview, observation, documentation and it affiliate. Informan determination with purposive and snowball sampling. This research finds first education has experienced step-up or progress experiences changing built by earlychildhood education and middle school. Before children doesn’t want school now child willingness comes in college, well at earlychildhood, primary school and middle. Both of happening changed process is talk shop society no longer undivided rely from their forest result be connected with swasta sector and governance sector, life that modestly is now beginning gently amends go to middleweight life and cultural appreciation be taught on base rate education to keep up region culture to protage. Third play a part education at family as teaches and in dogma, get socialization with environmentally surrounding and more emphasizes to that child important education in future. Play a part education at schooled, as develops culture to read, write and gets computing and education material at studies by cognitive, afective and psycomotor. Play a part education at conjoined as deep partnership with side achooled as committee of school, following gets role in contribution lents fund, help and energy. The objectives of the research are: (1) to find out the influence of environment education towards IPS students' learning motivation at SMK 1 Martapura, (2) to find out the influence of the school organization climate towards IPS students' learning motivation at SMK 1 Martapura? (3) to find out the influence of both the environmental education and school organization climate simultaneously towards IPS students' learning motivation at SMK 1 Martapura. This research used survey method with quantitative research approach. The research samples were taken with proportion stratified random sampling technique of the population of 1,341 students, from which 308 students were obtained as samples. This research found that (1) the value of t count> t table (3.240> 1.971) means that the environment education partially affects IPS students' learning motivation, (2) the value of t count> t table (2.083> 1.971) means that the school organization climate partially affects IPS students' learning motivation, (3) F count> F table (7.488> 3.886) means that the environment education and climate of student organization simultaneously affect IPS students’ learning motivation, (4) based on the output, the obtained scores of Adjusted Square was 0.041 or (4.1%). Based on these results, it can be concluded that: (1) Environment education partially affected IPS students' learning motivation. The value of t count was positive. It means that the effect was positive. This means that the implementation of environment–based education, the motivation of IPS students at SMK 1 Martapura increased more, (2) School organization climate partially affected IPS students' learning motivation. The value of t count was positive. It means that the effect was positive. This means that the more comfortable the climate of the school organization, the more the increase of the motivation of IPS students at SMK 1 Martapura increase, (3) the environment education and the student organization climate simultaneously affected IPS students’ learning motivation.Keywords: environment education, school organization climate, learning motivation, social studies.

The background of this research is the beliefe in invisible crocodiles believed by Banjarese of Batang Banyu, in Tabalong River. People there, up to now stil have that kind of belief. The problem in this research si the perspectives Banjarese of Batang Banyu towards invisible crocodiles. The objective is to find out the beliefs Banjarese of Batang Banyu in Tabalong River associated with the invisible crocodiles. A belief which is manifested in an action called ritual. Method for this research was qualitative descriptive with ethnography approach. Before data were collected, first, formulation of the research, research objectives, and literature studies was done. Then, the data collection was carried out in triangulation: indirect observation, interviews and documentation stages. The result showed that belief in the invisible crocodiles caused by their river living environment. In the river, there are strong and ferocious crocodiles. The ability of this crocodiles then is feared and admired by Banjarese People of Batang Banyu. Th feelings of fear and admiration is expressed in a ritual of malabuh. Perceptions of education is a cognitive process that is experienced by everyone in understanding information about their environment through sight, hearing, appreciation, feeling, and smell. This study aimed to analyze the low level of education of Sungai Loban villagers. This study used survey method. The study population was all residents of the village of Sungai Loban aged between 16-19 years. Samples of the present study used a non-probability sampling, with the samples of 128 people. The data analysis used descriptive test, test requirement analysis and hypothesis testing using analysis of product moment. This study used a questionnaire as a data collection instrument.The results of this study found that (1) the social environment had a positive influence on the interest to go to college which was proved with r2 value, amounted to 0.0992 or 9.92%, (2) perception of education had a positive influence on the interest to continue to college which was evidenced by the high r2 value, amounted to 0.4173 or 41.73%, (3) the influence of the social environment and perceptions of education to interests of going to college (studies on secondary education students who resided in the village of Sungai Loban Tanah Bumbu regency), simultaneously by 44.3% and the remaining 55.7% was influenced by other factors, but not examined in this study. Students as the next generation should have high education in order to participate in economic development and other fields. The low enrollment rate occured because there were several influencing factors, such as: transportation and other economic factors and personal awareness.Keywords: Social environment, Perceptions about Education, Interests, College.

Based on the observation result of the researcher who is also the teacher of Sociology at the school, there were some weaknesses of students in understanding the lesson namely: (1) lack of enthusiasm; (2) lack of attention at the lesson; (3) feeling shy to ask about the lesson is not understood; (4) inactive involvement of the students on the teaching and learning process and boredom tendency; (5) lack of doing the practice tests. This observation had been supported by the findings that 77% students whose score was under the Minimum Standard Score (KKM) out of 28 students. Only 33% students met the criteria of the Minimum Standard Score (KKM). From the results of this preliminary study, researcher felt the need to make approach change in the teaching and learning process. The objectives of this research were: (1) to increase the students’ motivation; (2) to improve the students’ achievement on Sociology on the topics of Social Group through Students Teams Achievement Division (STAD) Model; (3) to find out the student’s responses on the STAD model. The research method applied was the qualitative one and to overcome the teaching and learning problems is by STAD model. The technique of data collection was observation. As the result, good responses from the students towards this STAD model can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students in following the lessons and the questionnaire results which also showed that 42,86% of students who strongly agreed, and 0% of them who disagreed on the use of STAD model. To increasing the students motivation, a teacher is recommended to apply the STAD model because this model has been tested and researched by several teachers in several different schools, and is has been proven successful in increasing the students motivation and achievement.Key words: Motivation, Study Achievement, STAD Model

The purpose of this study were to: (1) Describe the activities of teachers on the implementation of the scientific approach model of Problem Based Learning on the material functions and religious diversity, (2) Describe the increased activity of the students in the material functions and religious diversity, (3) Describe the improvement of student learning outcomes in the material functions and religious diversity, and (4) Describe the response of class VIII A of SMP Negeri 1 Mandastana. This research method used classroom action research, by taking research location in class VIII A of SMP Negeri 1 Mandastana. The data analysis was qualitatively and quantitatively with persentase. The result showed that: (1) Activities of students increased in the first cycle 1 meeting with average scores of 70.6%, the second meeting of an average of 87.78%. Activities undue do students decreased from 3.2% in the first meeting becomes 2.67 in the second meeting, (2) the activity of teachers in the management of learning from the first cycle to the category quite well into both categories at the second cycle, (3) Results learn student by using model PBL can enhance students' understanding of class VIII A of SMP Negeri 1 Mandastana on the material functions and religious diversity. In the first cycle post test values obtained with an average of 71.6 We can assume that the complete classical first cycle of 75% and the second cycle an average of 83.4 to 93.8% classical completeness, and (4) the Learning IPS model Problem Based Learning the material functions and religious diversity to respond to class VIII A of SMP Negeri 1 Mandastana shown by the many students gave a positive opinion on the student questionnaire responses by 93%.Keywords: effort, improvement, activity, learning outcomes, IPS, PBL

The purposesof this study are (1) to describe the plan of the character education in the teaching and learning of IPS at SMP Negeri 4 Alalak Barito Kuala, (2) to describe the implementation of character education in SMP Negeri 4 Alalak Barito Kuala, and (3) to describe how the evaluation is carried out in the teaching and learning of IPS at SMP Negeri 4 Alalak.This research was conducted at SMP 4 Alalak Barito Kuala. It appliesqualitative methods withtechniques of data collection that include observation, documentation, and interviews (purposive sampling).The analysis covers the data reduction, presentation of data and conclusion drawing. The data validity testingwas done by trianggulation and peerinspection.The results of this study show that (1) the plan of character education in the teaching and learning of IPS at SMP 4 Alalak Barito Kuala was done by preparing the syillabus and lesson plans in advance, (2) the impletation of the character education in the teaching and learning of IPS at SMP 4 Alalak Barito Kuala is by means of working in group, examining particularly the story of the hero characters, performing a drama, and (3) the evaluation of the character education in the teaching and learning of IPS at SMP Negeri 4 Alalak Barito Kuala is through the evaluation of the syillabus and lesson plans as well as evaluating the final result of the students’ attitude changes inobeying the school rules.Keywords: character education, teaching and learning of IPS
