Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the role of shared leisure satisfaction and conflict resolution on co-parenting in dual earner couples in church X. The hypothesis in this study is that shared leisure satisfaction and conflict resolution play a significant role in co-parenting. Using quantitative research methods with correlational designs. The subjects in this study were 90 dual earner congregants in Church X in Banyuwangi because a phenomenon that was found to be suitable for the population was obtained by accidental sampling technique. Data analysis using multiple linear regression test showed that shared leisure satisfaction and conflict resolution contribute to co-parenting in dual earner pairs (F = 23,164; p < 0,05), for conflict resolution it plays a role in co-parenting (t = 4,928; p <0,05 ), so also shared leisure satisfaction contributes to co-parenting (t = 4,347; p < 0,05). The total effective contribution of the two variables is 34,7% (R2 = 0,347). The conclusion of this study is that shared leisure satisfaction and conflict resolution play a role in co- parenting in dual earners.

Abstract

Dual-earner couples are husband and wife who both work. This couple faces challenges in dividing the roles as parents and as workers. To overcome these challenges, they need to work together, one of which is in terms of parenting. This study aims to determine the role of agreeableness, conflict resolution, and the quality of co-parenting on X Hospital staff and their partners in Surabaya. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a significant role of agreeableness and conflict resolution on co-parenting. The subjects of this study were 39 pairs who live in Surabaya. This research is a correlational quantitative research. Data were obtained using the Big Five Inventory (BFI), PREPARE/ENRICH, and The Co-Parenting Relationship Scale. The results of this study indicate that there is a role for agreeableness and conflict resolution on co-parenting (F = 11.79; p < 0.001). Specifically, agreeableness had a significant role in co-parenting (t = 4.838; p < 0.001) and gave an effective contribution of 23.5% while conflict resolution did not play a significant role.

Abstract

Learning music through formal lessons have a lot of benefit for teenagers. Unfortunately, data shows that teenagers tend to quit music lessons because of the lack of interest and motivation. Motivation, especially intrinsic motivation is an important aspect in the continuation of having formal music lessons because it can predict a more effective music practice. Support from teacher and parents are needed in order to increase the student’s intrinsic motivation. The hypothesis is that there is a positive effect between perceived autonomy support and perceived social support towards intrinsic motivation to play music. This research uses quantitative approach with correlational design. Subjects in this research are 120 teenagers who is currently taking music lessons in Surabaya and obtained by means of accidental sampling. Data analysis shows the main hypothesis is only partially accepted, where it is found only perceived autonomy support can predict intrinsic motivation while perceived social support have no effect. Further analysis shows that perceived autonomy and social support from music teacher has a significant effect towards teenager’s intrinsic motivation. Other factors such as what age the student start having lessons also have an effect towards their intrinsic motivation as teenagers.

Abstract

This study aims to see the role of communication and agreeableness towards co-parenting in mixed couple. There are 3 hypothesis presented in this study to see the role of communication and agreeableness towards co-parenting in mixed couple. The result of this study is that communication and agreeableness contributed significantly towards co-parenting in mixed couple. This study was conducted on 41 mixed couple or 82 people in total. This study use quantitive method with correlational design. The result of multiple regression test showed that communication and agreeableness contributed significantly to co-parenting (F= 28,664; p < 0,05). The result of multiple regression also showed that communication and agreeableness contributed respectively to co-parenting. Communication contributed higher than agreeableness, and that is 38,7% (R2= 0,387; p < 0,05). While agreeableness contributed 3,4% (R2= 0,034; p < 0,05).

This study aims to determine the effect of communication and conflict resolution on family rituals (dinner time) on parents who have children with college degrees. The total sample in this study amounted to 75 subjects. Dissemination of data using questionnaires distributed online and offline. Retrieval of data using Olsen's communication scale, Olsen's conflict resolution scale and Family Ritual Questionnaire (FRQ) family ritual. Data analysis uses multiple regression methods to determine the effect of communication and conflict resolution together on family dinner time rituals. And using simple linear regression to determine the effect of communication on family dinner time rituals and the effect of conflict resolution on family dinner time rituals. Results of multiple regression test analysis (r = 0,010; p = 0,696). Simple linear regression test results of communication on family rituals (r = 0,006; p =0,496). Simple linear regression test results conflict resolution to family ritual (r = 0,000; p =0,973). There is no influence of communication and conflict resolution on dinner time. There is no effect of communication on dinner time. There is no effect of conflict resolution on dinner time. So that in this study the major and minor hypotheses were rejected.
