Abstract

This study aims to determine the perception of farmers on the role of agricultural extension. Extension roles/duties include education, dissemination of information/innovation, facilitation, consultation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation, where the sixth in this study into research variables. Likert scale is used to measure the perception of rubber farmers to the overall role of agricultural extension workers. From the results of the research note that the perception of farmers for the role of extension workers in the value is in the category “enough to play'' with the overall average of 3.11. The perception of farmers on the role of agricultural extension in Lada Mandala Jaya Village, Pangkalan Lada Sub-district can be categorized as (a). “role” (mean = 3,69) for sub-variable of Education, (b). “role” (mean = 3,41) for the sub-variable Dissemination, (c). “lacks role'' (average = 2.24) as the Facilitator, (d). “enough role” (average = 3.15) as consultant, (e). “enough role” (average = 2.60) as Supervisor, and (f). “enough role” (average = 2.61) in the implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation. It is advisable to extension workers to optimize the role of extension workers, especially in facilitating and supervising the farmers in the development of rubber plantation business.

Abstract

The research is aimed to know factor affect rubber and demand in Indonesia. This research is used time series period from 1989 until 2016. The analyze used econometric model in the form of simultaneous aquations with Two Stage Least Square Method and helped Statistical Analyze System consisting. Its divided into two block (Production and Demand block) where every block consisting two structural aquations. Result showed that production block, natural rubber production response (QKR) is affected by area of rubber produces (AKR), price of domestic natural rubber (HKR), price of export natural rubber (HXKR) and Indonesia natural rubber demand (DKR) with each affect of 0,2926, 0,0480, 0,0222, and 0,8841. Price response of domestic natural rubber (HKR) is affected by price of world natural rubber (HKRD), export of natural rubber (XKR) and the rupiah against the dollar of USA (ER) with each affect of 0,2112; 2.4562 and 571,6580). It’s demand block, response of Indonesia natural rubber demand (DKR) is affected by price of domestic natural rubber (HKR) and number of vehicles (JKB) with each affect of -0,0176 and 0,0082. Before response of export of nutural rubber (XKR) affects price of domestic natural rubber (HKR). Its affected by production of Indonesia natural rubber (QKR), price of export of natural rubber (HXKR) and the rupiah against the dollar of USA (ER) with each affect of 0,2664; 0,0238 and 26,8898.

Abstract

The research is aimed to determined the cost of production, income, revenue, and profit. The research was conducted from July 2018 to January 2019. The method used the sensus method and used in determining the location was purposive. The samples used were 40 watermelon farmers. The total average cost production of farming watermelon Rp. 15.599.004 per growing season, with income Rp. 24.592.500, the average revenue Rp. 13.182.746, and the average profit Rp. 8.993.496 per growing season.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the demand for watermelon in the City of Palangka Raya. The data used are secondary data from 2002-2016. Data analysis method is multiple linear regression analysis using SPPS-24 tool. The results showed that the coefficient of determination was 0.936, meaning 93.6% of the demand for watermelon in Palangka Raya City was influenced by the price of watermelon, the price of papaya fruit, the price of bananas, per capita income and population. The results of the F test show that the calculated F = 26.109 is greater than the Ftable value = 6.06 at the 99% confidence level, so that the factors tested together have a significant effect on the demand for watermelon in the City of Palangka Raya that is at the level of trust of 90%-99%. While the population factor has no effect on the 95% confidence level.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze marketing channel, marketing institution, marketing function, marketing margin, marketing cost, marketing profit, corn farmer's share, marketing efficiency of maize in various channel in Kalampangan village. The results showed that: (1) marketing of corn in Kalampangan village there are two kinds of channels, where channel I involves four institutions namely: farmers, merchants village, retailers, and consumers. While channel II involves two institutions only, namely, farmers as traders and consumers. Maize's marketing functions are: sales function, purchasing function, storage function, transport function and facility function. (2) From calcution result at Marketing Channel I, total marketing margin of maize in Kalampangan Villge is Rp. 3.860,-/kg, total cost of corn marketing is Rp. 310,-/kg, total profit of corn marketing is Rp. 3.550,-/kg and the result obtained by corn farmer are 58,04%. From calculating result at Marketing Channel II, total margin of maize in Kalampangan Village is Rp. 2.160,-/kg, total cost of corn marketing is Rp. 310,-/kg, total profit of corn marketing is Rp. 1.850,-/kg and the result obtained by corn farmer are 71,20%. (3) marketing efficiency at Marketing Channel I equal to 41.96%, and on Marketing Channel II is 28,80%. Marketing efficiency value in Channel I is lower than marketing efficiency II, it is considered more efficient marketing Channel II.

Abstract

This study is conducted to determine the trend and estimation of rice production and rice consumption in Central Borneo Province. The study is held in Central Borneo Province by using secondary data from October 2017 to March 2018, using Least Square’s method. The results shows that the trend of rice production in Central Borneo Province in 2001-2015 is increasing. Same as paddy production which is increasing almost every year, rice production increasing almost every year. Estimation rice production in Central Borneo Province in 2016-2020 is also known that five years ahead, rice production will be increasing from year to year. Trend of rice consumption in Central Borneo Province in 2001-2015 is increasing every year, and Estimation of rice consumption in Central Borneo Province in 2016-2020 is known that five years ahead will be increasing from year to year although it can still be balanced with the value of production which is greater than consumption. Even the province of Central Borneo is also potential to surplus of rice till the year estimated 2020, that is 329.255,83 tons, so till 2020 rice production Central Borneo Province still can be sufficient for consumption need of the population.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the attitudes of farmers to the program of agricultural technology park (TTP) and to know the problems experience by farmers in Banturung Village, Bukit Batu Subdistrict. The method used in data collection in this study is by using the interview method with the help of questionnaires. This research was conducted in Banturung Village, Bukit Batu subdistrict. The results of this study indicate the attitude of farmers towards the TTP program is included in doubt category. This attitude is influenced by three components of attitude which are divided into nine variable indicators that is:The attitude of farmers towards technology which is classified as "agreed" includes: cognitive attitudes and affective attitudes, and those which classified as "doubtful" is conative attitudes. Then the attitude of farmers to training, which is classified as "agree" is; cognitive attitude, affective attitude and conative attitude. While the attitude of farmers to partnerships classified as "doubtful" is; cognitive attitude, affective attitude and conative attitude.The problem faced by farmers in the Banturung Garing Hantampung Agricultural Technology (TTP) program in Banturung Village, Bukit Batu Subdistrict is the lack of variation in technology implemented or produced through programs, agricultural machinery that is difficult to borrow and rental prices too high, training rarely held and less information from the group leader in informing the training schedule, the marketing of postharvest processed products is constrained due to the lack of partnership in the field of agribusiness and finance.

Abstract

This research is done (1). to identify about the internal and external factors which become the strength, weakness, opportunity, threat by analysis method of IFAS and EFAS; (2). to formulate the alternative strategy that being possible to be applied by SWOT matrix. The results of this research show that (1). internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) the development of honey bee cultivation in the Kalampangan Village, that is strength has four variables, among others workforce training, production facilities are available, cultivation management has been implemented and the marketing chain is short. Weakness has two variables, among others lack of group members participation and less attractive product packaging. Opportunities have three variables, that is the government's attention, establishing partnership relations and technological and information development. While threats have three variables, among others competitively priced honey products, weather changes and pest attacks. (2). the alternative strategy which can be applied for the effort of developing honey bee cultivation in the urban village of Kalampangan is the (SO) strategy which means to use the government’s support on spreading product marketing network, and developing cultivation technology of honey bee; the (WO) strategy which means we make a training and associating to improve the skills of the breeder and repairing the product’s packaging; the (ST) strategy which means to maintain the production, and maintain the product’s quality; and the (WT) strategy which means to maintain the group cooperation and to keep the area of woof plants.
