Abstract

To promote connection between biology content and social context, students need to be involved in Socio-scientific Issues (SSI) learning model. In doing so, involving 29 students majoring Biology Education enrolled in Environmental Knowledge course, to observe student’s perception and student’s achievement. Data were collected through questionnaires, test and observation, and then analyzed using qualitative descriptive technique. The findings reported that student’s perception was increased toward SSI learning model (N-Gain=0,4), all of students were successful in student’s achievement based on increasing of student’s achievement (N-Gain=0,4) and there was positive and fair correlation between student’s perception and student’s achievement (rxy=0,4). However, further investigation need to be conducted for examining student’s attitudes towards SSI learning model.

Abstract

This research is based on the fact that the indicators of student’s independence and attention are low in learning process. This research aimed to describe the level of student’s independence (aspect of self confidence and responsibility), level of student’s attention (sustained attention and executive attention), cognitive learning outcome, student’s response, learning process, and the problems of learning process. The research design used is one group pretest-post test design, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted on the students of senior high school (Madrasah Aliyah) class X in second semester. The result of research shows the level of student’s independence, attention and test score of student learning outcome either male or female students were improving. The student’s response of learning by using the integrated group investigation of power teaching also gets a good response and the learning process is categorized as very good category. Problem faced is only about creating the media of presentation but it can solved by student’s creativity to create the media. The conclusion of this research, is that by using The Integrated group Investigation of power teaching can keep the student’s independence, attention, and student learning outcome in ecosystem material. Thus method also gets a good response, and learning process is categorized as a very good category, and the problem of learning process can be solve by student’s creativity.: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa masih terdapat indikator – indikator kemandirian dan atensi siswa yang rendah dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kemandirian siswa (aspek percaya diri dan tanggung jawab), tingkat atensi siswa (aspek atensi berkelanjutan dan atensi eksekutif), hasil belajar kognitif, respon siswa, keterlaksanaan rencana pembelajaran, dan kendala-kendala pada proses pembelajaran. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One Group Pretest-Postest Design, dan analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada siswa MA (Madrasah Aliyah) kelas X pada semester genap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kemandirian, tingkat atensi, dan tes hasil belajar siswa baik kelas putra ataupun kelas putri mengalami peningkatan. Respon siswa terkait pembelajaran menggunanakan Group Investigation terintegrasi Power Teaching juga mendapatkan respon yang baik, dan keterlaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran tergolong pada kategori baik sekali. Kendala yang dihadapi hanya terkait pada pembuatan media presentasi, akan tetapi hal tersebut dapat diatasi dengan kreatifitas masing – masing siswa dalam pembuatan media tersebut. Simpulan penelitian ini, bahwa metode pembelajaran Group Investigation terintegrasi Power Teaching dapat mempertahankan kemandirian, atensi, dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi ekosistem. Metode tersebut juga mendapatkan respon yang baik, dan keterlaksanaan  rencana pembelajaran yang juga tergolong baik sekali, serta kendala pembelajaran yang bisa diselesaikan dengan kreativitas siswa.

Abstract

Research development of Integrated Science teaching materials connected type with Dick and Carey model on subject matter water pollution and which aims to improve the learning outcomes of students. The research subject of teaching materials which tested on 32 student of junior high school with design one-group pretest-posttest, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative. The results are validation of teaching materials is valid, learning performance is good. Tests of students learning outcomes were analyzed with N-Gain Increased. Psychomotor skills of students is good), and the teaching materials can develop to students attitudes. The conclusion of this research, that the integrated science teaching materials connected type with environment source learning students in junior high school is feasible and can improve the learning outcomes of studentsTelah dilakukan suatu penelitian pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe connected dengan model Dick and Carey pada pokok bahasan pencemaran air dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMP.  Subyek penelitian perangakat pembelajaran yang diujicobakan pada 32 siswa SMP dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest,sedangkan analisis data secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran valid, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran baik. Tes hasil belajar siswa dianalisis dengan N-Gain mengalami peningkatan, kemampuan psikomotor siswa baik, dan perangkat pembelajaran dapat mengembangkan sikap siswa. Simpulan penelitian ini, bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe connected dengan sumber belajar lingkungan sekitar pada siswa SMP layak dan  dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This research was aimed to implement reciprocal teaching strategy of cooperative learning oriented to improve students’ learning outcome on redox reaction topic at SMAN 11 Samarinda. This research was conducted at SMAN 11 Samarinda involving 39 tenth grade students using one group pre-test–post-test design. The result of this research gave some information as follows; lesson plan, student’s book, and worksheets were categorized as good, and students’ achievement test was valid. Readability levels of the student’s book and worksheet showed that the content and the design were interesting to the students. Realization of lesson plan was generally categorized as good. The  dominant students’ activities were discussion in making questions from reading materials and answering it and to report it in form of class presentation. Students responded positively to the learning process. Cognitive learning outcome  showed that 90% of the students reached the mastery learning with mean score of 87,3 and mean gained score of 0.7 and was categorized as high. The students’ social skills learning outcome (giving opinion, being good listeners, and questioning) was generally categorized as very good. The obstacles found in the learning process was that in the beginning students were unfamiliar with reciprocal teaching strategy and cooperative learning model. Therefore, continuous practices and supervision were required in order that the teaching process could be conducted as the time allocated on  lesson plan. Based on the results, it was concluded that the implementation of  reciprocal teaching strategy of cooperative learning oriented on redox reaction topic is effectively implemented to improve students’cognitive and social skills learning outcome.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengimplementasikan strategi reciprocal teaching berorientasi cooperative learning untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok reaksi redoks di SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda. Penelitian dilakukan pada 39 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda  dengan menggunakan desain one group pretest-posttest design. Hasil penilaian RPP, Buku Ajar Siswa dan LKS berkategori baik, sedangkan tes hasil belajar (THB) berkategori valid. Hasil penilaian keterbacaan Buku Ajar Siswa dan LKS menunjukkan bahwa isi dan penampilan menarik bagi siswa. Keterlaksanaan RPP secara umum dalam kategori baik. Aktivitas siswa yang dominan adalah berdiskusi dalam membuat pertanyaan dari bahan bacaan sekaligus jawaban (questioning) dan mengkomunikasikan informasi dalam bentuk presentasi. Siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Hasil belajar kognitif produk berupa  ketuntasan individual siswa sebesar 90% dengan nilai rata-rata 87,3 dan gain score rata-rata 0,7 dengan kriteria tinggi. Hasil belajar keterampilan sosial siswa (berpendapat, menjadi pendengar yang baik, bertanya) memperoleh skor rata-rata dengan kategori sangat baik. Kendala yang ditemui adalah pada awal siswa belum terbiasa dengan pengalaman belajar yang menggunakan strategi dan model  pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Latihan dan bimbingan perlu dilakukan terus menerus agar pembelajaran berlangsung baik dan sesuai dengan alokasi waktu yang tersedia dalam RPP. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan diskusinya, dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi strategi reciprocal teaching berorientasi cooperative learning pada materi pokok reaksi redoks dapat terlaksana secara efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif dan keterampilan sosial siswa.

Abstract

This study is aimed at teaching the ability of creative thinking and the comprehension of concept for students by developing science learning kit which mainly refer to guided discovery method. This is development research. The learning kit being validated by experts are syllabus, lesson plan, student work sheet, student learning book, mastering concept questions, and creative thingking questions. The learning kit was tested to 35 Grade X students in SMAN 1 Manyar. The design of study applies one group pretest-posttest with descriptive qualitative data analysis technique. The test results of learning kit are: the feasibility of lesson plan for three meetings has very good category; mastering concept ability, assessed from the mastery of indicators, reached  80% is in accomplished category; individual mastery reached70% is in accomplished category. Students’ creative thinking ability before the learning was 28,6%. It is categorized as less creative. After students having guided discovery in learning, students achieved 84,86% or creative category and the average of students’ conceptual comprehension is N-Gain > 0,70. This shows a high comprehension of concept on environment changes and waste recycling topic. Based on the test results, it is concluded that science learning kit developed is feasible, practical, and effective to teach creative thinking ability for students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengajarkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan penguasaan konsep siswa yang dilakukan dengan cara mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran sains dengan metode guided discovery. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan.Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi silabus, RPP, LKS, buku ajar siswa, soal penguasaan konsep, dan soal berpikir kreatif yang divalidasi oleh pakar.Ujicoba perangkat dilakukan pada 35 siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Manyar. Desain Penelitian menggunakan one group pretest-postest. Parameter yang diukur meliputi keterlaksanaan RPP, tes hasil belajar, kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan penguasaan konsep.Teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif.Hasil uji coba perangkat pembelajaran menunjukkan: keterlaksanaan RPP selama tiga kali pertemuan berkategori sangat baik, kemampuan penguasaan konsep dilihat dari ketuntasan indikator ≥ 80% dikategorikan tuntas, ketuntasan individu ≥ 75 dikategorikan tuntas. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa sebelum pembelajaran adalah 28,6% dengan kategori kurang kreatif dan rata-rata perolehan siswa setelah pembelajaran 84,86% dengan kategori kreatif, rata-rata kemampuan penguasaan konsep setelah mengikuti pelajaran N-Gain ˃ 0,70, ini menunjukkan penguasaaan konsep yang tinggi terhadap materi perubahan lingkungan dan daur ulang limbah. Berdasarkan hasil ujicoba, disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran sains dengan metode guided discovery yang telah dikembangkan layak, praktis dan efektif untuk mengajarkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa

Abstract

The study aims at examming 1) the difference of cognitive leraning outcomes between students  who were taught by using cooperative learning model of Make a Match type and the ones taught by using The Power of Two type, 2) the difference of affective learning outcomes between students who were taught by using cooperative learning model of Make a Match type and the ones taught by using the Power of Two type 3) the difference of psychomotor learning outcomes between students who were taught by using cooperative learning model Make a Match type and the ones taught by using The Power of Two type of grade XI students at SMAN 1 Sungguminasa Makassar. The study was a quasi-experiment research which employed the static group pretest posttest design. The study used the experiment group I by implementing cooperative learning model of Make a Match type and the experiment group II by implementing cooperative learning model of The Power of Two type. The instruments of the study were the test of learning outcomes to measure the cognitive learning outcomes, observation sheet to measure affective and psychomotor learning outcomes of the students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic analysis and inferential statistic analysis (uji t α = 0,05 ) supported by SPSS 17.0 for windows program. that the result using The Power of Two was higher than the one using The Power of Two.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match dengan kooperatif tipe The Power of Two pada siswa kelas XI SMAN. 1 Sungguminasa Makassar 2) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar afektif siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match dengan kooperatif tipe The Power of Two pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Sungguminasa Makassar 3) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar psikomotorik siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match dengan The Power of Two pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Sungguminasa Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan The static Group Pretest Posttest Design. Instrumen penelitian berupa Tes Hasil Belajar (THB) untuk mengukur hasil belajar kognitif, dan lembar observasi untuk mengukur hasil belajar afektif dan psikomotorik siswa. Data dianalisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial (Uji t α = 0,05) dengan bantuan program SPSS 17.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran The Power of Two lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match 2) Hasil belajar afektif siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran tipe Make a Match lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe The Power of Two 3) Hasil belajar psikomotorik siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran tipe Make a Match lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe The Power of Two.
