Abstract

This research aims to analyze geopolitical and geostrategic changes. Which countries have geopolitical and geo-strategic dimensions? It seems that America, Israel, Russia and China and Iran tend to have expansionist ambitions ready to compete in the global and regional arena. Russia and Iran for the time being have ambitions with regional dimensions such as Russia in Central Asia and the Middle East. While Iran is limited to the Middle East. The presence or entrenchment of global corpacy, both Corporate Capitalism and State Capitalism are considered as new forms of colonialism that must be opposed and driven out of the land of Indonesia, because the occupation of this new model will bring misery to life and will bring the fate of the younger generation and future generations to become slaves. in his own country.

Abstract

The study in this paper describes the rationality of Muhammad Abduh insome of his works by going to take some samples of religious domains thatgenerate a lot of polemics, both among Muslims themselves, philosophersand theologians, as well as outside Muslims, the orientalists.Muhammad Abduh was greatly influenced by Jamal ud-Din al-Afghani, thefounder of the modern pan-Islamic movement which sought to unite theMuslim world under the banner of the faith. When they met in al-Azhar in1872 Abduh was roused from his asceticism to activism and sought to bringabout a renaissance of Islam and a liberation of Muslims from colonialism.Unlike his mentor, Jamal ud-Din al-Afghani, Abduh tried to separate politicsfrom religious reform. Abduh advocated the reform of Islam by bringing itback to its pristine state and casting off what he viewed as its contemporarydecadence and division. His views were opposed by the established politicaland religious order, but were later embraced by Arab nationalism afterWorld War I.

The aim is clear, to up grade the image of SBY as an anti-corroption figure and to strengthen his position as the number one figure in Indonesia. Moreover, it also helps to picture that not only the members of Democratic Party who corrupt but also the members of other political parties. In fact, the leadership of SBY can be categorized as what so-called leisure leadership, for he often avoids substancial issues and it is common for him to care at lipstical matters.

Abstract

This article highlights the phenomenon of the Freedom Institute, an NGO in which one of the main actors, Rizal Mallarangeng, who acts as if "academic, epistemic, objective and rational" (Intellectuals, BBM and Advertising Freedom Institute, Kompas 3/3), advertises on print newspaper in Jakarta. And the Freedom Institute advertisement, which was founded by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Aburizal Bakrie and his colleagues, has made some people feel "cynical, irritated and frustrated" towards intellectuals who are so easy to "trade knowledge" with all their credibility and capacity. The annoyance and frustration was shown by the Young Kagama Forum in Jakarta (Wednesday, 2/3/2005) which raised it as an issue of “the phenomenon of neoliberalism and intellectual prostitution” in connection with the Freedom Institute advertisement. However, the students and activists who objected to the fuel price hike and were present at the Kagama Youth Forum stated that they were angry and disgusted with why there are a number of well-known intellectuals who so easily involve themselves in neoliberal advertisements that protect the interests of the dominant economic-political power, instead of siding with the oppressed.
