Abstract

Now-a-days, automation in home is becoming more popular. It always remains important to consideraccuracy and speed in a said job. This paper is addressing an Arduino Mega micro-controller based Home Bot,which has several aspects like cleaning of the floor and on-off switches as per requirement, theft detection andmonitoring. The ability of the proposed model is auto pathfinding when ever hurdles appear and auto detection whena trouble appears inside the Home Bot. It is verified that the cost of this module is around 21%, compared to therobots available in the market having features of only floor cleaning.

Abstract

Women of all over the world suffer from a common cancer, named Cervical cancer. Cervical cancer cellsgrow slowly at the cervix. This cancer can be avoided if it is recognized and handled in its first stage. Now it is a keychallenge for Medical experts to identify such cancer before it develops extremely. Nowadays, data mining modelsare popularly used to extract hidden patterns from huge medical dataset. This paper introduces data miningtechinques for classification and finding associations in order to detect Cervical cancer at early stage. Afterpreprocessing, the dataset was tested on Decision Tree, Random Forest, Logistic Model Tree and Artificial NeuralNetwork. These methods achieve considerable success in case of both K-fold cross validations and randomly splitdataset. Association rules has been established for detecting comparatively riskier factors which are moreresponsible for cancer development. The proposed methodology can help Medical experts to conduct their researchon Cervical cancer.

Abstract

Launching into the next generation of wireless communication network (5G network) requires secure highdata rate, high speed and huge bandwidth links. With the tremendous increase in broadband users, the existingcommunication systems such as radio frequency (RF) and microwave links cannot meet up with the challenges due totheir link interference and low bandwidth. A current technology that promises such requirements and more is FreeSpace Optical (FSO) communication. The FSO basically involves the transmission of signal-modulated opticalradiation from a transmitter to a receiver through the atmosphere or outer space. It is designed to complement thetraditional fibre optical communication links. However, location-variant atmospheric channel degrades the qualityand performance of an FSO system under severe atmospheric conditions. This paper attempts to assess both fog- andrain-induced attenuation on the performance of FSO link in a terrestrial terrain using measured visibility and rainrate data at Akure, Nigeria. 5-year (2012-2016) archived visibility data and measured rain rate data of 1-minuteintegration time obtained from Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) and the Department of Physics, FederalUniversity of Technology, Akure respectively, were used to compute the fog- and rain-induced specific attenuationsusing Kruse and Carboneur models. The performance of the FSO system was analyzed through link margin by usingthe parameters of a commercial optical transceiver, Terescope 5000. Findings from this work will be useful for FSOsystem design in the area.

Abstract

Scientific documents and magazines involve large number of mathematical expressions and formulas alongwith text. The continuous growth of such documents necessitates the requirement of developing specialized tools andtechniques, which could handle and analyse mathematical expressions and formulas. Mathematical expressions andformulae are highly structured and quite different from traditional text. Due to which conventional text retrievalsystem performs poorly in retrieving scientific documents based on mathematical expression formulated as a query.Mathematical information retrieval is concerned with finding information in documents that include mathematics. Toaddress the challenges posed by mathematical formulae as compared to text, this paper aims to construct a mathaware search engine, which can retrieve relevant scientific documents based on a mathematical query. A novelsignature based hashing scheme to index raw mathematical web documents is proposed in this paper, which can alsotake mathematical notational equivalences into account. The proposed system demonstrates better precision andstability of the ranked results when compared with other related state-of-the-art math aware search engines.
