Abstract

In the last years several investigators have focused on the development and control of humanoid robots able to acquire human behaviors, and features in order to be able to interact with humans and work together with them. The fall of a robot can lead to damages, which entail costs for repair, or even human health risks so ensuring stability is a main concern in terms of cost and safety. This document presents the implementation of a dynamic controller for robots, able to position the robot's center of mass in a certain location operating as a stability module. It is also described a precise behaviour of preparing an omnidirectional kick by placing the support foot of the robot in a precise position and orientation calculated in accordance with the robot's position, the ball and the target, and by transferring the robot's center of mass to the desired position. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1440

Abstract

Energy consumption phenomenon has always been noticed in sink-based wireless sensor networks. This paper explored an energy efficient routing protocol with a mobile sink based on the shortest path data transmission mode. According to the position of the sink node and the common nodes' ID in the network, we can calculate the coordinate value of each node in the wireless sensor network. By comparing the coordinate values to choose the shortest path to forward the data was our key method in this paper. Simulation results showed that this method can prolong the lifetime of the network, and improve the energy utilization ratio of the nodes. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1640

Abstract

The Objective of the paper is to investigate walking stability of picking wheel robot in the fields of medium speed and high load complex operating environment. Firsly, we analyze the influence on walking control for simplified dynamic model of picking robot and its remaining (instabilities), guarantee the stability and convergence of simplified system for tracking errors using the Lyapunov theory. Secondly, adaptive stabilization and tracking control algorithm is proposed on farmland in order to overcome its uncertainty and disturbances. Finally, the effectiveness and stability of the algorithm is verified using matlab simulation and experiment in the case of high load and medium speed. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1652

Abstract

This paper investigates a passivity-based control (PBC) for DC Motor drive system with PWM. In the paper, the port-controlled Hamiltonian system with dissipation (PCHD) model of the system is built and the interconnection and damping assignment passivity-based control (IDA-PBC) method is used for the design of the controller. The system simulation model is built based on MATLAB/Simulink and the simulation results validate that the DC Motor drive system based on PBC controller has excellent dynamic performances such as robustness and transient response, compared with the traditional PI controller. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1695

Abstract

How to collect information optimally by scheduling a limited number of sensors is one of the key technologies of safety monitoring for large mechanical equipment systems. In this paper, an improved model of Pulse Coupled Neural Network is used for the discretization algorithm of continuous features. And based on classificatory error parameter and approximate dependence degree in Variable Precision Rough Sets theory, a VPRS data model is created by utilizing the measured signals from the multi-sensor Bridge Erecting Machine Safety Monitoring System. Then the corresponding relations between time-frequency characteristics and operating condition classifications are analyzed. Finally, while the determinability of decision making analysis is enhanced, the validity order of safety monitoring information of the multi-sensor sampling points is gained, which can direct optimal scheduling of position of sensors in large-scale mechanical equipment systems. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1634

Abstract

Simulation earthquake shaking table tests on the system of ultra high-voltage electrical equipment mounted on pedestals are carried out in order to study the dynamic amplifying effect of the pedestal in the system. The relationship between the dynamic responses of the system and main influence factors is studied by means of changing frequencies or stiffness and masses of the system under the driving function of several different earthquake waves. The studied results show that the dynamic amplifying effect of the pedestal in the system or the pedestal amplifying coefficient has close relationship with the stiffness and masses distributing or the frequencies of the system. Some regular and universal conclusions are obtained, and the suggested scale on the dynamic amplifying coefficient of the pedestal in the system is put forward, which provides reference for future design and engineering application on the ultra high-voltage electrical equipment with pedestal. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1647

Abstract

Equipment manufacturing industry is the strategic industries of a country. And its core part is the CNC machine tool. Therefore, enhancing the independent research of relevant technology of CNC machine, especially the open CNC system, is of great significance. This paper presented some key techniques of an Intelligent Automatic Turning System and gave a viable solution for system integration. First of all, the integrated system architecture and the flexible and efficient workflow for perfoming the intelligent automatic turning process is illustrated. Secondly, the innovated methods of the workpiece feature recognition and expression and process planning of the NC machining are put forward. Thirdly, the cutting tool auto-selection and the cutting parameter optimization solution are generated with a integrated inference of rule-based reasoning and case-based reasoning. Finally, the actual machining case based on the developed intelligent automatic turning system proved the presented solutions are valid, practical and efficient. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1690

Abstract

An impulse-based single-borehole radar prototype has been developed for well logging. The borehole radar is comprised of subsurface sonde and surface equipment. An armored 7-conductor well logging cable is used to connect subsurface sonde and surface equipment which is well compatible with the other well logging instruments. The performance experiments of the prototype have been conducted in a test field. The results show that the prototype system is capable of detecting the target which is 8 meters away from the borehole. This radar prototype has been employed in a real oil field well with a depth of about 1600 meters. Compared with conventional resistivity well logging tools, the prototype system provides comprehensive well-bore formation analysis information. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1629

Abstract

For real-time and robust web camera image mosaicing, a method based on an optimized SURF (Speeded Up Robust Features) was proposed in this paper. Firstly, the feature points from the overlapping parts between the reference image and the target image are extracted by employing the rapid matching algorithm - BBF (Best-Bin-Fist). Then RANSAC (Random Sample Consensus) is used for mismatched features eliminating and projection matrix calculating to resample the target image and achieve the calibrated one. Finally, registered images are fused with evolutional fusion algorithm to produce image mosaicing. The results demonstrates that our image mosaicing method can stitch the images captured with the web cameras with noise and different lighting effectively and efficiently while also being robust.  DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1658

Abstract

To date, many finite element neck models suitable for the European-American population have been proposed to study neck impact injury mechanisms. However, the issue that a Chinese neck model can be obtained using the geometrical scaling of a western model is highly controversial. A Chinese neck model, based on MRI/CT scan images and frozen slice images from a 35-year old male cadaver, was established in this paper to examine the geometrical difference between Chinese and European-American cervical vertebrae. Results showed that at every level of all cervical vertebrae except C2, an evident difference between the geometrical model of the Chinese and European-American cervical vertebrae was revealed. In summary, it is necessary to apply the actual anatomic parameters of the Chinese neck rather than the scaled geometry of the European-American neck to establish a standard mid-size Chinese neck finite element model. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i8.1616
