Abstract

Repairing of the used gas turbine components is becoming a challenge due to continual increase in manufacturing costs and the complex geometry. This paper discusses research on the repairing solutions for the damaged ones. The various kinds of geometric reconstruction algorithm for those are introduced selectively from the cross-section of the blade because of its vital roles. However, owing to the limitation of the algorithm, it has been lack of an efficient approach for reconstructing the geometry of a blade. As a result of this study, future research directions are highlighted. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2311

Abstract

Aiming at the question of parameter of double-tuned filter, A new method of designing double-tuned filter was proposed based on resonance frequency, by using the relationship that the impedance of double-tund filter and two parallel single tuned filters is equal and the  resonance frequency of single tuned filter is the zero of the impedance of double-tuned filter. A simulation was established to prove the correctness of this method by using the software MATLAB in a power system. Simulation results show that the double-tuned filter designed in this method works well. All of this had an important guiding significance for the research of double-tuned filter. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2182

Abstract

The statistical characteristics of the angular power distribution of the wireless channel in mine tunnels are the concern of this paper. Firstly, we develop a ray-based channel model which provides the angular power spectrum (APS) in tunnels. We discuss the allowed rays existing in a tunnel based on the modal theory. The number of the allowed rays is limited. The directions of the rays are discrete. They are influenced by the excitation conditions. And then we deduce the propagation parameters as the functions of the direction of arrival (DOA) for each ray to reduce the computational burden. The model is validated by experimental measurements. Then theoretical results deduced from our model show that APS in the tunnel follows Gaussian distribution. For vertical polarization, the spread of the azimuth angle is more sensitive to the excitation conditions. While for horizontal polarization, the spread of the elevation angle is more sensitive. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2224

Abstract

In order to digitally control the bonding force of a wire bonder precisely, this paper uses a DC solenoid as a force source, and by controlling the solenoid’s current, which causes the electromagnetic force, we can control the bonding force that capillary applies. The bonding force control system in this paper is composed of PC (Personal Computer) and hypogyny MCU (Micro Controller Unit), which communicate using a RS485 interface. The digital value of a given bonding force is given by the PC to the MCU. By comparing the sampling current of the solenoid, and through PID regulation, D/A converter of the digital potentiometer and the solenoid driver circuit, the half-closed loop control system of bonding force is accomplished. Tuning of the PID parameters is accomplished with fuzzy adaptive control theory and simulated by Matlab simulink. The control system is tested by comparing the desired bonding force and the force actually applied and examming the relationship between bonding quality and bonding force. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2306

Abstract

This paper presents a hybrid method for synthesizing natural animation of facial expression with data from motion capture. The captured expression was transferred from the space of source performance to that of a 3D target face using an accurate mapping process in order to realize the reuse of motion data. The transferred animation was then applied to synthesize the expression of the target model through a framework of two-stage deformation. A local deformation technique preliminarily considered a set of neighbor feature points for every vertex and their impact on the vertex. Furthermore, the global deformation was exploited to ensure the smoothness of the whole facial mesh. The experimental results show our hybrid mesh deformation strategy was effective, which could animate different target face without complicated manual efforts required by most of facial animation approaches. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2039

Abstract

Information integrating in Semantic Concept Networks(SCN) is one of the important operations in these networks. These operations require resource usage. Due to the limited resource of units, the resource productivity should be considered as a key objective in design of Semantic Concept Networks. Therefore the Integrating is a suitable method that used in resource usage management. For this purpose many methods have been proposed. In this paper, the idea of not sending time correlated information of units has been considered by using the sequential function. Also, a model to estimate the remaining resource of units by the base station has been presented. The proposed ideas have been implemented over the LANDING-C protocol. Evaluation results showed that the proposed methods had a better performance in resource usage and the lifetime of the network in comparison with similar methods. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2176

Abstract

The judgment of metal rod buffer system bonding quality depends on the bond of the metal rods with the surrounding medium. System bonding area will lead to different reflection amplitude. Compared the simulation with the experiment, it can be concluded that different bonding area can measure bond quality, i.e, the greater the bonding area is the more excellent bonding quality will be. This conclusion provides the basis for the system ultrasonic testing. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2193

Abstract

Based on the heat conduction equation, fluid flow governing equation and radiation heat transfer equation, a multi-physics coupled mathematical model is established, the convection heat transfer problem between solid and fluid is solved by wall function. The three dimensional thermal field in a type of switchgear filled respectively with SF6, N2, and air are calculated and analyzed to discuss the feasibility of using air or N2 as the substitution of SF6 by the finite volume method. The results show that the temperature field in three gases are similar in the switchgear. The temperature rise of current-carrying loop is the highest in SF6 and is the lowest in the air. So the conclusion could be made that air or N2 can replace SF6 as the insulating gas of switchgear on the perspective of temperature rise. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2217

Abstract

The setting and optimization of Proportion Integration Differentiation(PID) parameters have been always the important study topics in the automatic control field. The current optimization design methods are often difficult to consider the system requirements for quickness ,reliability and robustness .So a method of PID controller parameters optimization based on Improved Genetic Algorithm(IGA) is presented .Simulations with Matlab have proved that the control performance index based on IGA is better than that of the GA method and Z-N method, and is a method which has good practical value of the PID parameter setting and optimization.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i3.2301
