Abstract

In this paper a recognition and tracing scheme for moving objects by video monitoring system was studied. During moving objects recognition, Multi frame sampling method was used to establish the initial background. Edges of the moving objects were drawn according to the changes of the images, and the influence factors for edges drawing were eliminated. In the end, tracing for moving objects could be realized by recognition of morphological characteristics. The experiments indicate that, for field environment, the number of collected frames between 120 to 180 could get better image background. The shadows of the moving objects are the main factor which influence detection of object edges, and they could be eliminated by Shadow edge detection operator. For vehicles tracing, adjacent frame matching method could be used to reflect the time-space transformation of the vehicles. This scheme could realize the recognition and tracing of moving objects by video monitoring system effectively. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.2740

Abstract

An inhomogeneously broadened two-mode ring laser system with the colored pump noise is considered. The effects of the auto-correlation time t of the colored pump noise on the competition between two modes in the laser system are investigated for the first time by the computer simulation method. The results show that when the laser system works far above threshold, the stationary properties of the laser intensities of two laser modes changes in quite other ways as the value of increases. It is obvious that the effects of the colored pump noise on the mode competition between two laser modes. Here does not exist mode competition for enough small value of t, it increases and then remain unchanged with increasing value of t. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3235

Abstract

This paper put forward a finite element method to study the radio transmission in tunnel electromagnetic environment. The author makes use of software simulation to study the rectangular tunnel model. When varying the electric parameters of tunnel wall, ceiling and floor, this may somewhat influence the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic wave.In order to study the interference properties of underground electric locomotive ,this paper put forward a moment of method (MoM) model to analysis electromagnetic compatibility in roadway. The author makes use of FEKO software to simulate its time-varying and non-linear characteristics ,the simulation results are in good agreement with experimental data .In the end it can be concludeed that this model has practical significance to estimate electromagnetic interference in coal mine. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3253

Abstract

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is an essential technology to improve safety and efficiency of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), it provides vehicle to vehicle as well as vehicle to roadside unit (RSU) wireless communications, so that on board unit (OBU) located in vehicles can share messages related to road traffic with not only other OBU in the same VANET but also transportation management centre depending on retransmission of RSU. It is very important to detect and transmit real time messages of road traffic condition in VANET. This paper presents two application schemes for VANET based on chaos sequence: traffic flow forecast and vehicle secret communications. The principles of these schemes are introduced separately, and performances are verified by theoretical analysis and simulation. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3270

Abstract

This paper discusses advantages of LEACH Algorithm and the existing improved model which takes the famous hierarchy clustering routing protocol LEACH Algorithm as researching object. Then the paper indicates the problem that in the algorithm capacity factor of cluster head node is not taken into account leading the structure of clusters to be not so reasonable. This research discusses an energy-uniform cluster and cluster head selecting mechanism in which “Pseudo cluster head” concept is introduced in order to coordinate with “Load Monitor” Mechanism and “Load Leisure” Mechanism to maintain load balancing of cluster head character and stability of network topology. On the basis of LEACH Protocol improving algorithm of LEACH-C, CEFL and DCHS. NS2 simulation instrument is applied to do simulation analysis on the improved algorithm. Simulation result shows that LEACH-P Protocol effectively increase energy utilization efficiency, lengthens network lifetime and balances network load. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3287

Abstract

Many complex systems can be described as networks to comprehend both the structure and the function. Community structure is one of the most important properties of complex networks. Detecting overlapping communities in networks have been more attention in recent years, but the most of approaches to this problem have been applied to the undirected networks. This paper presents a novel approach based on link partition to detect overlapping communities structure in directed networks. In contrast to previous researches focused on grouping nodes, our algorithm defines communities as groups of directed links rather than nodes with the purpose of nodes naturally belong to more than one community. This approach can identify a suitable number of overlapping communities without any prior knowledge about the community in directed networks. We evaluate our algorithm on a simple artificial network and several real-networks. Experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm proposed is efficient for detecting overlapping communities in directed networks. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3304

Abstract

The wheat kernels were processed by moistened in water. The spontaneous and water-induced luminescence data (photon counts) were noted with an ultra-weak luminescence (UWL) detector. The following was the features of the data analyzed by the statistical parameters of the spontaneous luminescence and the fitting curves of the water-induced luminescence. The results show that the UWL intensity rises with the moistened time prolonged. It is concluded that the intensity depends on the moistened time mainly. If the moistened kernels owned a more porous structure, in the initial phase of imbibition, a higher UWL emission would be noted. Consequently, the further quantitative research of the relevant could lead a novel testing method about the wheat’s activity and quality. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3150

Abstract

Initial water content impacts the accuracy and resolution of the inversion in surface nuclear magnetic resonance (SNMR). In order to solve this problem, a new method called as regularization combined with simulated atomic transition method (RSATA) is proposed. The inversion of SNMR is transformed into an unconstrained nonlinear global optimization problem, and it solved directly by RSATA without pre-assigning the initial water content distribution. The conjugate gradient linear iterative algorithm is adopted to look for local minimum and global extreme value when using RSATA, and has improved the inversion speed. Results show that this method is a very good solution to solve the effect of initial water content and it is also better than the existing methods on the operation efficiency and the accuracy of inversion. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3248

Abstract

The technology of the artificial neural network (ANN) was applied in the research of supercritical material cutting. Two-dimensional Gaussian surfaces of the three cutting elements and workpiece surface hardness had been established fitting through JMP software. Base on the orthogonal milling experiments, the rules of cutting forces variation were forecasted, as well as the effect to the hardness on workpiece surface. The cutting parameters selected according to the process were built, providing an important basis for the optimization of machining conditions. The prediction results were in good agreement with the experimental results. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3265

Abstract

In order to solve the problem of time difference ultrasonic flow meter’s low accuracy, against the basic characteristics of the sample data, a data-processing algorithm is proposed. First, we use shell sort do a data pre-processing to the samples, then remove the error of the sample space by complex digital filter, and use the error compensation algorithm to get the final sample results. Among them, the complex digital filter is mainly composed by median filtering algorithm, sliding window, Peters algorithm and the weighted average algorithm. This kind of data processing algorithm can effectively filter out the error of the sample space. It can also make a large improvement to the accuracy of ultrasonic flow meter while ensure the stability and real-time. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.3282
