Abstract

Motor speed can’t change suddenly during the operation of motor because of inertia. In the short process of motor being not driven by motor controller, the operation of motor can be thought of as a uniform motion process. Making use of this property, it can be estimated next or next several cycles by measuring previous one or several cycles of motor. So the motor speed can be Figured out according to measured cycles. The phase angle can be estimated by zero crossing point of induced electromotive force produced in the running process of motor. Then the magnetic field position is estimated, and the angle measured by position sensors can be replaced by estimated angle. At last, bench test proves that this method can improve the reliability and safety of the motor control and has a good fault tolerance so as to be used as an auxiliary control method in motor control of electric vehicle and realize multi-mode control. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.4005

Abstract

AODV routing protocol is intended for use by mobile nodes in ad-hoc wireless networks. As the degree of node mobility becomes high, however, the number of RREQ and RREP messages during the route discovery process increase so rapidly. The unexpected increases in the number of control packets cause the destination node to decrease the packet receiving rate. Besides, the overall energy consumption for the network can be increased. Thus, we propose a novel method of adaptively controlling the occurrences of the control packets based on AIAD (additive increase additive decrease) under a consideration of the current network status. We have tested our proposed method with both the conventional AODV and the method using timestamp based on the three performance metrics; i.e., node mobility, node velocity, and node density, to compare their performances. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.4179

Abstract

Electric vehicle drive system is a multi-variable function, running environment complexed and changeable system, so it’s failure form is complicated. In this paper, according to the fault happens in different position, establish vehicle fault table, analyze the consequences of failure may cause and the causes of failure. Combined with hardware limitations, and the maximum guarantee system performance requirements, passive software redundancy fault-tolerant strategy is put forward, give an example to analysis the pros and cons of this method. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.4410

Abstract

In order to satisfy the individual needs of consumers for recording TV programs in some different ways, an improved scheme is presented to implement Personal Video Recorder (PVR) function in Android set-top box (STB). As for live TV programs, there are three alternative ways which are continuous recording, timer recording and time-shifting recording being designed. As for TV programs in the future, the way of scheduled recording is designed. Namely, monitor task in the background is checked by the updating of Time and Date Table (TDT) in accordance with Electronic Program Guide (EPG) information. The results show that this scheme is effective and feasible, and it enriches the interface function between TV and consumers. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.3928

Abstract

Applications in the signal processing technology corresponding to various gauges have been widely popularized exploration. However, there is rarely proposed corresponding to how to employ gauge reader with lower cost but longer distance. M-Bus (Meter-Bus) is an inexpensive solution for widespread networking and remote meter reading for the consumption data collection. This work based on the M-Bus technology presented a novel signal processing technology of Advanced Gauge Reader System (AGRS). In particular, this paper also implemented the proposed device for real applications. The proposed AGRS is a cost-effective, stable and reliable remote water meter reading system. Numerous simulations and tests have been made to demonstrate the efficiency of this work. The empirical findings may provide some valuable references for the related applications. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.3794

Abstract

Data scale becomes a bottleneck in user behaviors analysis, many data mining algorithms become Inefficient slow in this circumstances. This paper explores an effective approach to mine latent knowledge in large scale data, which combines the basal principles of association rules, MapReduce model and Hbase database. First, general principles and algorithm of association rules are given. Second, the work mechanism and traits of MapReduce model and HBase are introduced. Finally, it gives detailed design methods that how to combine the basal principles of association rules, MapReduce model and Hbase database. Sufficient experiments prove that the processing velocity of parallel approach nearly decuple unparallel approach’s. Therefore, the approach combined association-rule and cloud computing is a successful and valuable exploration. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.3443

Abstract

In this paper, a status assessment model based on fuzzy comprehensive support vector machine (FC-SVM) is proposed for the scientific basis in the maintenance of secondary equipment in substation is insufficient. Then, an effective utilization and information extraction of various assessment factors is achieved by using fuzzy comprehensive assessment method (FCA) and the secondary equipment status is assessed via SVM on the basis of the online alarm information and offline information. Experiment analysis is carried out on three different kernel functions and the radial basis function (RBF) is selected as the kernel function for the proposed model in the assess process of SVM. Experimental results show that the status assessment accuracy of secondary equipment is improved by using FC-SVM. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.4116

Abstract

The detection and fault identification of the partial discharge is the important aspect for the monitoring of the power equipment. For the lacks of the traditional detection methods, this paper analyzed the UHF signal characteristic parameters of the power equipment’s partial discharge, and developed the UHF detection system of the partial discharge. The A/D technology of the gain equalization and quantization in the different bands is studied, and the fault diagnosis strategy of the partial discharge based on the UHF and AE is proposed. On the premise to ensure the integrity of the partial discharge signals, the acquisition, amplification, analysis and storage of the partial discharge signal is realized. The case-based reasoning technology determines the fault type and fault degree of the partial discharge to make the accurate judgment for the operational state of the equipment and improve the intelligence level and the operational reliability for the state diagnosis of the power equipment. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.4327

Abstract

The finite element model of the 1000kV Ultra High Voltage (UHV) AC transmission line porcelain insulator string voltage distribution and grading ring surface electric field distribution calculation has the characteristics of large size, complicated structure and various mediums. To insure the accuracy, related influencing factors should be considered to simplify the model reasonably for improving computational efficiency. A whole model and a simplified 3D finite element model of UHV AC transmission line porcelain insulator string were built. The influencing factors including tower, phase conductors, hardware fittings, yoke plate and phase interaction were considered in the analysis. And finally, the rationality of the simplified model was validated. The results comparison show that building a simplified model of three-phase bundled conductors within a certain length, simplifying the tower reasonably, omitting the hardware fittings and yoke plate and containing only single-phase insulator string model is feasible. The simplified model could replace the whole model to analyze the voltage distribution along the porcelain insulator string and the electric field distribution on the grading ring surface, and it can reduce the calculation scale, improve optimization efficiency of insulators string and grading ring parameters. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.3833
