Abstract

We propose a method for extracting acoustic shadowing from ultrasound image. If we locate the acoustic shadowing exactly then we can also extract the hyperechoic substances with a high probability. The proposed method reconstitutes an original ultrasound image to simplify calculations and uses the locally horizontal difference to extract shadow candidates. The shadow candidates are classified into start and finish point, and shadow regions are extracted by using them. The experiment results show the proposed method extracts 23 of 27 acoustic shadows from ultrasonogram efficiently and it can be used in wide applications.

Abstract

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is a population based stochastic optimization technique inspired by the social learning of birds or fish. Some of the appealing facts of PSO are its convenience, simplicity and easiness of implementation requiring but few parameters adjustments. Inertia Weight (ω) is one of the essential parameters in PSO, which often significantly the affects convergence and the balance between the exploration and exploitation characteristics of PSO. Since the adoption of this parameter, there have been large proposals for determining the value of Inertia Weight Strategy. In order to show the efficiency of this parameter in the Economic Dispatch problem(ED), this paper presents a comprehensive review of one or more than one recent and popular inertia weight strategies reported in the related literature. Among this five recent inertia weight four were randomly chosen for application and subject to empirical studies in this research, namely, Constant (ω), Random (ω), Global-Local Best (ω), Linearly Decreasing (ω), which are then compared in term of performance within the confines of the discussed optimization problem. Morever, the results are compared to those reported in the recent literature and data from SONELGAZ. The study results are quite encouraging showing the good applicability of PSO with adaptive inertia weight for solving economic dispatch problem.

Abstract

This study aimed to achieve and measure flexibility as a software quality factor of text pre-processing libraries with Indonesian text from social media. Library was built based on a review of some text mining applications that did not yet have a special pre-process for Indonesian text. Text pre-processing libraries were designed and built using an object-oriented approach that was modular to achieve flexibility. Flexibility was measured by the Mc Call Cyclomatic Complexity (CC) metric. Flexibility of library was tested by implementing the library into text mining applications. The results of experiment showed that text pre-processing libraries could be flexible and easy to use without much configuration in text mining applications. It was proved by the value of CC of 2.51 which meant the library or software was not too complex, simple enough, and also flexible to use.

Abstract

Today due to advancement in technology and Internet of Things, to deal with step-by-step jobs like mailing, accessing bank entries, watching degree of hotness and other jobs PCs were utilized. Because of fast improvement in IOT nowadays tablets, advanced mobile phones are utilized for such assignments [1]. Home security can be characterized as observing the home remotely located or centrally located. Today, home security is getting to be vital as the conceivable outcomes of interruption is expanding step by step, yet they have issues like postponement, non-web empowered and hard to deal. Intruder recognition is basic parts of home computerization and home security frameworks. Most generally, utilized specialized devices are mobile phones and sending mails are considered for controlling home appliances remotely by proposing productive structures. An Enhanced Security Alert System for Smart Home using IOT is composed in our proposed work. It identifies the intruder when no one is in home by sending alert message or caught picture to the proprietor (or) owner. Proposed framework is ease home security framework utilizes an IP Web-camera and Raspberry pi for limiting delay during the time of sending alert message. Fog Computing is incorporated to proposed framework to expand the level of security and limit the engendering delay. Proposed framework is to give minimal effort arrangement and adaptable association instrument for coordinating Internet of Things with home security frameworks.

Abstract

Two virtual windows are used to determine the path of a single uniformly moving obstacle. If the path of the obstacle crosses the two virtual windows, then its path can be easily determined. A simulation is implemented to ascertain the viability and accuracy of this technique.

Abstract

Video summarization used in many applications such as video object recognition and classification. Different methods used for this purpose: key frame extraction using edge detection and key frame extraction using discrete wavelet transform (DWT). In video processing, numerous frames containing similar information, this leads to time consumption and slow processing speed and complexity. New method Hybrid DWT-Edge Key Frame Detection (HDEKFD) of dynamic sign language presented in this paper. This method combined two algorithms edge detection and DWT to increase processing speed by reduce the numbers of redundant frames. Simulation results illustrate the efficient of the proposed algorithm compare to other methods.

Abstract

The paper is presented analysis, design and manufacturing single optimize parameters of a new broadband elliptical patch antenna with microstrip center feed line and the array has been implemented to improve gain antenna. The antenna array dimension of mm3 and fabricated on an FR-4 epoxy substrate having relative dielectric constant =4.3, loss tangent tan (δ) =0.002 and the feed line used has characteristic impedance of 50Ω and added the triangle notch structure .Thus notch can achieve maximal additional enhancement impedance bandwidth are (3.679- 6.578) GHz, (13.84-25.142) GHz, (29.807-37.618) GHz and the gain 8dBi. The antenna array performance was modified by inserting stubs transition in feeding Microstrip line to reducing mutual coupling achieve impedance bandwidth (when S11-10dB). The modified antenna was designed to be used for wireless communication application. The simulation results are obtained using CST software.

Abstract

The real-life construction of examination timetabling problem is considered as a common problem that always encountered and experienced in educational institution whether in school, college, and university. This problem is usually experienced by the academic management department where they have trouble to handle complexity for assign examination into a suitable timeslot manually. In this paper, an algorithm approach of ant colony optimisation (ACO) is presented to find an effective solution for dealing with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) examination timetabling problems. A combination of heuristic with ACO algorithm contributes the development solution in order to simplify and optimize the pheromone occurrence of matrix updates which include the constraints problem. The implementation of real dataset instances from academic management is applied to the approach for generating the result of examination timetable. The result and performance that obtained will be used for further use to evaluate the quality and observe the solution whether our examination timetabling system is reliable and efficient than the manual management that can deal the constraints problem.
