Abstract

Social Networks progress over time by the addition of new nodes and links, form associations with one community to the other community. Over a few decades, the fast expansion of Social Networks has attracted many researchers to pay more attention towards complex networks, the collection of social data, understand the social behaviors of complex networks and predict future conflicts. Thus, Link prediction is imperative to do research with social networks and network theory. The objective of this research is to find the hidden patterns and uncovered missing links over complex networks. Here, we developed a new similarity measure to predict missing links over social networks. The new method is computed on common neighbors with node-to-node distance to get better accuracy of missing link prediction. We tested the proposed measure on a variety of real-world linked datasets which are formed from various linked social networks. The proposed approach performance is compared with contemporary link prediction methods. Our measure makes very effective and intuitive in predicting disappeared links in linked social networks.

Abstract

In this paper, a novel low cost, single-feed, and circular polarization reconfigurable antenna is designed and fabricated for future mid-band 5G applications. An innovative technique is used in this approach, which combines three techniques, namely: polygon U-slot, switchable vertical or horizontal slots, and shorting posts. The proposed antenna can alter its polarization sense between RHCP and LHCP with the ability to adjust the axial ratio position with respect to frequency along the impedance bandwidth of the antenna. The antenna is built on RT/duroid 5880 substrate with a maximum size of (31*31*3.15) .Two real diodes are integrated across the slot to change polarization sense. CST commercial software is used to simulate the antenna, and then it is fabricated and measured practically. Good agreements between the two results are achieved. However, The antenna has impedance bandwidth starting from 3.4995GHz to 3.73GHz with overlapped axial ratio bandwidth of 2.1% for both operation senses. Also, the antenna has good gain, and it has one resonant frequency at 3.6GHz for both operating states.

Abstract

As a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, the halal status of a food and beverage product is essential for the people of Indonesia. An application was created by the government to answer these concerns with the name "Halal MUI". Unfortunately, this application has not been able to meet the needs of users to get a rating of 3.5 out of 920 users. This study aims to provide an evaluation of the Halal MUI application by using a heuristic evaluation approach. As many as three experts did a personal heuristic evaluation, then summarized it in a group discussion forum. The results showed that the application of Halal MUI, in general, has been able to check the halal product. However, some features still have a high severity rating. This paper presents several suggested improvements to improve system usability in Halal MUI applications.

Abstract

Intel RealSense depth camera provides depth image using infrared projector and infrared camera. Using infrared radiation makes it possible to measure the depth with high accuracy, but the shadow of infrared radiation makes depth unmeasured regions. Intel RealSense SDK provides a postprocessing algorithm to correct it. However, this algorithm is not enough to be used and needs to be improved. Therefore, we propose a method to correct the depth image using image processing techniques. The proposed method corrects the depth using the adjacent depth information. Experimental results showed that the proposed method corrects the depth image more accurately than the Intel RealSense SDK.

Abstract

This paper presents the modelling and simulation of a π-shaped Mg3Sb2 based thermoelectric generator. The performance of the proposed thermoelectric generator is evaluated with finite element analysis. A number of thermocouples were varied for high output power and power efficiency factor. Based on the analysis, we demonstrated that enhancement of the temperature gradient and the number of thermocouples are beneficial for high output power and power efficiency factor of Mg3Sb2 based thermoelectric generator. A high output power and power efficiency factor of 8.89 mW and 3.47 mWmm-2K-2 were obtained at a temperature gradient of 500K across the hot and cold side for four Mg3Sb2 based thermocouples, respectively. The obtained results show that the developed device could be used to drive portable electronic devices.

Abstract

In this paper, a secure data encryption using DNA sequence operation in a new and innovative direction different from the traditional direction, DNA coding uses the eight rules of DNA code based on a sequence of letter in text that provides the possibility of encrypting the same letter or word in more than one form in one text-based on sequence of this letter or word in the text. Then hiding technique implemented based on a hyperchaotic system. To increase the security of encryption text, we use the hyperchaotic system for obtaining the color image position that used to hide on it. The proposed steganography method hides a letter of the encrypted text in each pixel of the cover image, thus giving the possibility of hiding large text data. Some metrics have been applied to the proposed algorithm such as NPCR analyses, MSE, Correlation, and BER, The results of the simulation and security analysis showed that the new DNA coding is suitable for text encryption/decryption and that the super-chaotic map is suitable for hiding/extract the encrypted data, which indicates that the proposed encryption algorithm has a good encryption and hiding effect. Can resist brute statistical attack, force attack, differential.

Abstract

Every language has unique characteristics, structures, and grammar. Thus, different styles will have different processes and result in processed in natural language processing (NLP) research area. In the current NLP research area, data mining (DM) or machine learning (ML) technique is popular, especially for deep learning (DL) method. This research aims to classify text data in the Indonesian language using convolutional neural network (CNN) as one of the DL algorithms. The CNN algorithm used modified following the Indonesian language characteristics. Thereby, in the text pre-processing phase, stopword removal and stemming are particularly suitable for the Indonesian language. The experiment conducted using 472 Indonesian news text data from various sources with four categories: ‘hiburan’ (entertainment), ‘olahraga’ (sport), ‘tajuk utama’ (headline news), and ‘teknologi’ (technology). Based on the experiment and evaluation using 377 training data and 95 testing data, producing five models with ten epoch for each model, CNN has the best percentage of accuracy around 90,74% and loss value around 29,05% for 300 hidden layers in classifying the Indonesian News data.

Abstract

In this paper, an alternative improvement is proposed which is the adaptive wireless access networks-based optical backhaul convergence that will greatly promote to use the existing resource of MANET (mobile ad hoc network). However, these characteristics itself acts as a drawback to the MANET applications such as the random distribution of nodes and continuously changing topology. MiNiTab statistical software was used to model the effect of the parameter variation to predict the field quality through the design of experiments while OMNeT++ network simulation was created to visualize the effect of QoS performance study in response with varying speed scenario. The result shows that the proposed ESCMDR scheme can obtain robustness and outperformed compared to the non-Taguchi previous study when it is used in random waypoint mobility model in any speed of sources. The work is based on packet delivery ratio (PDR) and packet loss Probability (PLP) metric under the varying speed scenario. It results in better QoS network PDR of 28.9% improvement, with 83.56% improvement on average PLP. The paper shows that the MANET QoS performance constrained can be addressed with the self-configured data rate of integrated optimization with taguchi method on AODV-UU (Adhoc On demand distance vector-uppsala university) routing technique.

Abstract

The design of electronic systems has become mainly dependent on FPGAs applications. This is due to the softness effectiveness progress by reconfigurable computing and reduced time to develop solutions for digital signal processing. In this article, we present the theoretical backgrounds of a BPSK modulation and hardware designs of the BPSK system, a firstly with the help of Matlab/Simulink reliant on the System Generator and a second with Xilinx ISE VERILOG Hardware Description Language. In order to show the differences between them, in terms of efficiency, duration of development and how many resources are used in FPGA. For the projected system, we have a tendency to aimed toward employing a moderately sized, low-value FPGA to implement the system. The Atlys development board by Digilent to configure develops, and run the system, based on a Xilinx Spartan-6 LX45 FPGA.
