Abstract

The work presents new theoretical equipment for the representation of natural languages (NL) in computers. Linguistics: morphology, semantics, and syntax are also presented as components of subtle computer science that form. A structure and an integrated data system. The presented useful theory of language is a new method to learn the language by separating the fields of semantics and syntax.

Abstract

A transmission line allows different frequencies to conduct alternating current (AC). They are a peculiar type of wire that allows signal transmission while making it resistant to external noises. A parallel-plate transmission line is a type of transmission line designed with two parallel plates with a dielectric sheet material in the center, as the name implies. The parallel-plate transmission lines are usually used for a miniature setup in which the line prevents the signal from losing power. However, the line's frequency response is a varying setup in which a change in a parameter can fully change the frequency response of the line, and in turn trigger inefficiency. With this, different factors such as the conductor, the size, and the dielectric material of the parallel-plate transmission line can affect its frequency response. Specifically, the analysis of the transmission would test the various frequency responses when the dielectric sheet content is varied. The researchers will carry out experiments on air, Teflon, plexiglass, and E type glass dielectrics.

Abstract

The electronic government (e-government) worldwide is slowly progressing. The e-government progress in developing countries, such as Iraq, is slower compared with those of regional countries. Prior research suggested deploying cloud based E-government (CBEG). However, most studies are either review or conceptual. This study aims to examine the CBEG in Iraq and identify the criteria that are required for utilizing this technology. A total of 279 academic staff working in the IT department in Iraqi universities have participated in this study. The findings using matrix and the algorithm of partial least square presented ten criteria. After using the average variance extracted technique, the criteria reduced to seven. Further analysis using smart partial least square was conducted, and this resulted in five important criteria namely, reliability of the service followed by availability, security, trust, and technological competence. Decision makers have to increase the competence of the staff and enhance the CBEG services.

Abstract

The use of mobile communication is growing radically with every passing year. The new reality is the fifth generation (5G) of mobile communication technology. 5G requires expensive infrastructural adjustment and upgradation. Currently, Pakistan has one of the most significant numbers of biometrically verified mobile users. However, at the same time, the country lags incredibly in the field of mobile internet adoption, with just half of the mobile device owners avail broadband subscription. It is a viable market with a large segment yet to be tapped. With the advancing progression in Pakistan towards the internet of things (IoT) connectivity, i.e., solar-powered home solutions, smart city projects, and on-board diagnostics (OBD), the urgency for speed, bandwidth and reliability are on the rise. In this paper, Pakistan's prevalent mobile communication networks, i.e., second, third and fourth generation (2G, 3G and 4G), were analyzed and examined in light of the country's demographics and challenges. The future of 5G in Pakistan was also discussed. The study revealed that non-infrastructural barriers influence the low adoption rate, which is the main reason behind the spectrum utilization gap, i.e., the use of 3G, and the 4G spectrum is minimal.

Abstract

The application of power electronics devices is increasing significantly in this past few year. This condition could happen due to the development of semiconductor technology. The application of power electronics is varied from power plant application to vehicles application. One of the power electronics devices that becoming popular is rectifier. Rectifier can be used to transform AC electricity to DC. This paper presents fully controlled six pulse three phase rectifier which designed to stabilize the DC voltage output on a certain loads variation. PID controller is used as the close loop controller system of the rectifier. To get optimal coordination differential evolution algorithm is used to tune the parameter of PID controller. simulation is carried out in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. From the simulation results, it is found that the performance of six pulse three phase rectifier can be enhanced significantly by using PID controller based on differential evolution algorithm.

Abstract

Service availability is one of the major requirements for user satisfaction. Several researches were conducted in recent years to find suitable infrastructure to enhance the availability. Even though both hardware and software are to be in good condition, in recent years, software faults are the major concern for service availability. Software aging is a type of software fault. Software aging occurs as a result of errors accumulation in the internal environment of the system leading to performance degradation. To manage software aging, technique used is software rejuvenation. There exist two kinds of approaches for studying software aging and deriving optimal software rejuvenation schedules. The two approaches are measurement based and model based. In model based approach, analytic models are built for capturing system degradation and rejuvenation process. In measurement based approach, attributes are periodically monitored and that may indicate signs of software aging. In this work, a prototype of measurement based model has been developed. The model captures the aging indicator metrics from cloud environment and rejuvenates once the system reaches aged status. The proposed model uses platform independent, non-intrusive technique for capturing metrics. The rejuvenation carried out after analysing the captured metrics, increases the availability of the service.

Abstract

Sign language (SL) is a visual language means of communication for people who are Deaf or have hearing impairments. In Arabic-speaking countries, there are many Arabic sign languages (ArSL) and these use the same alphabets. This study proposes ArSL-CNN, a deep learning model that is based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) for translating Arabic SL (ArSL). Experiments were performed using a large ArSL dataset (ArSL2018) that contains 54049 images of 32 sign language gestures, collected from forty participants. The results of the first experiments with the ArSL-CNN model returned a train and test accuracy of 98.80% and 96.59%, respectively. The results also revealed the impact of imbalanced data on model accuracy. For the second set of experiments, various re-sampling methods were applied to the dataset. Results revealed that applying the synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) improved the overall test accuracy from 96.59% to 97.29%, yielding a statistically signicant improvement in test accuracy (p=0.016,  α<0=05). The proposed ArSL-CNN model can be trained on a variety of Arabic sign languages and reduce the communication barriers encountered by Deaf communities in Arabic-speaking countries.

Abstract

Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension due to any events that makes one feel frustrated, angry or nervous. It a situation that trigger particular biological response when encounter a threat or challenge. This paper discussed stress classification based on human electromagnetic radiation (EMR). At first, the collected radiation frequency data is analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) to identify the significance points for the classification. Then, the data is classified using locally weighted learning (LWL) algorithm. The results show stress classification using EMR based on third eye and throat chakra points obtained accuracy of more than 60%.

Abstract

Autonomous path navigation is one of the important studies in robotics since a robot’s ability to navigate through an environment brings about many advancements with it. This paper suggests the iteration technique called half-sweep two parameter overrelaxation 9-point laplacian (HSTOR-9P) to be applied on autonomous path navigation and aims to investigate its effectiveness in performing computation for path planning in an indoor static environment. This iteration technique is a harmonic function that solves the Laplace’s equation where the modelling of the environment is based on. The harmonic functions are an appropriate method to be used on autonomous path planning because it satisfies the min-max principle, therefore avoiding the occurrence of local minima which traps robot’s movements, and that it offers complete path planning algorithm. Its performance is tested against its predecessor iteration technique. Results shown that HSTOR-9P iteration technique enables path construction in a lower number of iterations, thus, performs better than its predecessors.

Abstract

Deep learning (DL) approaches use various processing layers to learn hierarchical representations of data. Recently, many methods and designs of natural language processing (NLP) models have shown significant development, especially in text mining and analysis. For learning vector-space representations of text, there are famous models like Word2vec, GloVe, and fastText. In fact, NLP took a big step forward when BERT and recently GTP-3 came out. In this paper, we highlight the most important language representation learning models in NLP and provide an insight of their evolution. We also summarize, compare and contrast these different models on sentiment analysis, and thus discuss their main strengths and limitations. Our obtained results show that BERT is the best language representation learning model.
