Abstract

The improvement of the effective recognition of quality abnormal patterns in dynamic process has seen increasing demands nowadays in the real-time monitor and diagnose of automatic manufacturing. Based on the analysis of the dynamic process of quality abnormal pattern, this paper presents a recognition model of quality abnormal pattern recognition using a Multi-SVM. Contrasting with performance of recognition model based on different kernel functions, suitable kernel functions were selected for the recognition model. Furthermore, we have contrasted the model proposed in this paper with the model adopted by Vahid. Simulation results show that the recognition model proposed in this paper has very high recognition accuracy for all patterns, and the overall average recognition accuracy is 97.78%. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4919

Abstract

The three-phase rectifier based on traditional PID control algorithm can improve its harmonic effect, and increase its power factor, but it can’t overcome the problems of selection difficulty of the PID parameters and can realize the online self-turning function of the PID parameters. In order to deal with the questions, the three phase rectifier based on neural network PID control algorithm is designed in this paper. In this paper, the PID parameters of the novel rectifier can realize the function of the online self-turning, which increases the design efficiency and the control accuracy. The simulation results show that the three phase rectifier based on improved PID control algorithm can decrease the harmonic pollution and increase its power factor. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i1.1910

Abstract

Solar PV may cause power congestion to occur in a transmission line when there is high solar irradiance that causing solar PV to generate more power flow than demanded power flow. Transmission line congestion that can be made worst by adding extra power generating farm such as centralized PV farm of renewable energy which helps to deliver customers with the demand or load required. The power generated coming from solar PV is depending on the weather and can definitely worsen the flow in transmission line due to the power captured. In this case, the high solar irradiance can affect the power generated from solar PV and will cause power congestion when power generated is higher than the load demanded. In this paper, the proposed method used to overcome the power congestion in a transmission line is by rerouting the excess power from the overloaded line to underloaded line by changing the line reactance of the line. An IEEE 30 bus test system is developed in PSS/E software as the test system. The output monitored is the line stability index of the affected line before and after rerouting process.

Abstract

Muscles play an important role in the movement of limbs. They undergo contraction to straighten or to bend a joint for the limbs to move. There are many factors that can affect muscle activity. Age could be one of the possible factors affecting muscle activity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the lower limb’s muscles activity during performance of salat between two age groups. The lower limb’s muscles investigated were Gastrocnemius (GAS), Biceps Femoris (BF), Tibialis Anterior (TA) and Rectus Femoris (RF). The postures involve are standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting. The electromyography (EMG) signals of the muscles were measured using the technique of surface EMG (sEMG). The signals were acquired by using Delsys Bagnoli™ Desktop sEMG system and EMGworks®. Ten healthy subjects from two age groups were recruited in this study. The first group consists of five males aged between 20 to 29 while the second group consists of five males aged above 40. The raw EMG signals acquired were analyzed and the EMG envelopes were developed using MATLAB. The averaged RMS values of EMG for each muscle were also calculated. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the EMGs was obtained by using F-test. Further investigation of the variance was performed by using Tukey comparison. From the results, the most active muscle during the performance of salat is BF while the less active muscle is GAS for both age groups. The statistical result show that there is no difference in the muscle activity pattern between the two age groups but there is significant difference among the muscles investigated.

Abstract

The rapid continuous growth of communication networks in size, complexity and dependencies, makes them extremely challenging to maintain the survivability of the complete large network.  The complexity may be due to advance voice and video services like IP TVs, IP telephony, video streaming which demands high reliability and survivability. Network management has become a great challenge as Faults are expected only in these complex networks. Once a failure is detected, the next step in the diagnosis is fault isolation which locates the source of that failure. The necessitate of decentralized diagnosis is justified by various applications, like spacecrafts.  This article presents model based fault isolation technique using a graph theoretical concepts, regions and paths for decentralized communication networks.

Abstract

Android is a very popular system in Chinese mobile phone market, while radio frequency identification device (RFID) which is originally used in fields of retail and logistics etc.. is going to be installed into Android to realize the visualization of commodity information (including the updating, discounting, and after-sale service) and the general use for publics. This study firstly discussed the overall design requirements of an Android platform-based RFID reader. Subsequently, basing on design positioning and principle, the design idea and parameters involved in the design realization were given a detailed description. Design was completed with the aid of related mobile phone applications developed by Android smart phone and multi-level technology testing and research. The new design is attempt to build a new technological life in future and further improve life quality.

Abstract

Excessive inhalation of formaldehyde is harmful to health. A quickly digital detection model of the content of formaldehyde in the air is designed in this paper. It can change nanoamps current into proper Voltage for TLC1543 through MAX407 and OP37.And a hardware circuit is designed for adaption and acquisition of the data. The method of this system is sending the signal to the host computer through a serial port and then showing the content of formaldehyde on the PC. Such digital detection of formaldehyde can be used to judge whether the content of formaldehyde is over the sustaining level of human body in a intuitive and quickly way. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i6.2615

Abstract

Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) was used to characterize the electromagnetic scattering (EMS) for targets in layered space. A new set of 1D modified Maxwell equations and auxiliary equations with incident angle was derived from 2D Maxwell equations and was used to compute the electromagnetic field in vertical boundary in 2D total field-scattered field (TF/SF), and thus incidence of uniform plane wave in time domain can be directly realized. In order to avoid complex Somerfield integration, the reciprocity theorem was used to simplify an extrapolation algorithm. Then the proposed algorithm and program in this paper were validated by applying them to compute the electromagnetic scattered field for targets in half-space and the radiation field for line current in layered lossy space. Finally this algorithm was used to characterize EMS for a tunnel in multi-layered space, for a tunnel open to vehicle, and for a tunnel and vehicle in lossless layered space. The results show the vehicle has a great impact on the scattering field, and the layered media surrounded the target can shield the scattering field. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i12.3699

Abstract

With XML as the leading standard for data representation over the Web, it is crucial to store and query XML data. However, relational databases are the dominant database technology in most organizations. Thus, replacing relational database with a pure XML database is not a wise choice. One most prominent solution is to map XML into relational database. This paper introduces a robust labeling scheme which is a hybrid labeling scheme combining the beauty features of extended range and ORDPATH schemes to supports dynamic updates. In addition, we also proposed a mapping scheme based on the hybrid labeling scheme. Our proposed approach is evaluated in terms of (i) loading time, (ii) storage size, (iii) query retrieval time, and (iv) dynamic updates time, as compared to ORDPATH and ME schemes. The experimental evaluation results shows that our proposed approach is scalable to support huge datasets and dynamic updates.
