Abstract

The performance of pin fin heat sink can be to measure through the temperature field. The temperature field and efficiency of the Pin Fin were analyzed, Pin fin efficiency curve was drowned also the distribution of the temperature field along the length of the pin fin curve was drawn. Thermal resistance was composed by thermal resistance of Aluminum substrate、 thermal resistance of convective heat transfer and the thermal resistance of the cooling liquid. The change rule was studied through the calculation on Aluminum plate thermal resistance、 thermal resistance of convective heat transfer and the thermal resistance of the cooling liquid. Its change regularity was simulated by toolbox In the MATLAB, and it was found that thermal resistance of convective heat transfer effect on the efficiency was most obvious in a certain amount of the heat and flow for thermal resistance of the Pin-fin radiator under the premise. The structural parameters of radiator were related to the size of thermal resistance. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i6.2688

Abstract

Doctors and clinicians rely on accurate underfoot pressure data to perform diagnosis of foot diseases. In sole pressure measurement systems are designed to provide such data but its implementation suffers from certain constraints such as the need for a spacer to be placed on the sensor when taking measurements and the need for multiple calibrations due to the fact that the sensor parameters tend to change without it. In this work, we proposed an optimization technique to address these limitations. The results obtained from testing indicate that the proposed device performed measurement of plantar pressure effectively. Also, the calculation of body weight using the proposed optimization technique is improved from 5.07% to 9.06%. For validation, the results are compared with the measurements from a commercial plantar pressure device (EMED system) as benchmark.

Abstract

Because of the severe geometrical distortion induced by the optical system and the limited kinetic accuracy of mechanical system in the vision-based mobile-phone lens’s assembly system, the nonlinear, perspective distortion errors and the kinematics errors generally exist in the assembly process of the mobile-phone lens. It is necessary to predict the assembly quality of the vision-based mobile-phone lens’s pick-and-place system so as to eliminate the immediate effect on the assembling process before extracting quantitative assembling. Comparison with current research methods, the back-propagation artificial neural network is applied to predict the assembly quality of the vision-based mobile-phone lens’s pick-and-place system. Firstly, the mobile-phone lens’s assembly quality characteristics are defined and sampled; Secondly, a back-propagation artificial neural network of the mobile-phone lens’s assembly quality prediction is presented; Finally apply some training samples obtained from the experiments to train and test this back-propagation artificial neural network. The results show that the proposed method is effective to predict the assembly quality of the vision-based mobile-phone lens’s pick-and-place system with high accuracy and high reliability. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i1.3906

Abstract

Common power system stabilizer (CPSS), fuzzy power system stabilizer (FPSS) and sliding mode controller (SMC) are common controllers which are used in controlling single machine infinite bus (SMIB) power systems. Each of these controllers has disadvantages. CPSS is not robust enough to stabilize the power system perfectly. SMC is more robust than CPSS but in the presence of big uncertainties it is unable to stabilize power system. FPSS is enough robust in the presence of big uncertainties, but it causes chattering when high switching gain is needed. The goal of this paper is to present a robust controller for a single machine infinite bus (SMIB). The proposed controller is a direct fuzzy controller assisted with a sliding mode controller. The simulation shows clear positive effect and validity of the method in convergence, time and accuracy.

Abstract

In this paper, we proposed a hexagonal shaped microstrip ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna integrated with dual band applications. The antenna design consists of a hexagonal shape patch with two folded Capacitive Loaded Line Resonators (CLLRs) on the left edge of the patch antenna. This hexagonal structure is used to implement UWB applications (3.1-10.6 GHz). A rectangular ground, and two CLLR are also used on the bottom of antenna to obtain the extra dual resonant frequency at 2.4 GHz and 9.1 GHz for Bluetooth and radar applications respectively. The proposed design is implemented using FR4 epoxy substrate. The relative permittivity of the substrate is 4.4. The overall size of designing antenna is 26 × 30 mm2 with 1.6 mm as thickness and fed by standard feed line of 50 Ω microstrip. The results obtained from the simulation indicate that the designed antenna attains a good bandwidth from 1.1 GHz – 10.69 GHz with VSWR < 2 and return loss < -10 dB. The proposed geometry is simulated  by using the Ansoft HFSS simulator working on the principle of FEM and results are also analyzed.

Abstract

When a digital medical image is enhanced, the useful details of the image should be strengthened, but the details can not be strengthened by these algorithms based on traditional illumination-reflection model. According to the imaging principle and medical requirement, wavelet illumination-reflection model and a new algorithm based on the model are proposed. The image is decomposed into illumination and reflection by wavelet illumination-reflection model. The details of the reflection are strengthened. The dynamic range of the illumination is reduced in order to enhance the image. Experiments and analysis show that the method is obviously better than Histogram Equalization, Homomorphic Filtering and multi-scales Retinex. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i1.1866
