Abstract

Minor traffic accidents have become a major problem facing the road users in the recent years, according to the statistics from the Ministry of Interior (MOI) in Kuwait there were recorded 80,388 accidents by the year 2014. Accidents not only affect the mobility but also contribute to air pollution and slow down economic growth. These effects are the result of the seriously extended trips travel time due to accumulated vehicles queue. In some accidents cases, the lost time waiting for the arrival of the traffic officers and filling up the accident report could take up to 45 minutes. The new idea of Vehicle Accident Report application (I-VAR) concept developed by the research team would reduce the waiting time up to 3 minutes (93% savings), which would increase the level of service of the segment of a roadway. In addition, the study will be discussed four major situations on some of the busiest roads in Kuwait. Specifically, gas emissions and cost estimation. Improve the pollution obviously, by using the (I-VAR) application for the minor accidents there is an amount of 360,776,460 K.D would be saved yearly from the Kuwait government funds. It is a consequence of the huge savings in alleviating traffic congestion and generally produces more saver and efficient travel conditions.

Abstract

Code words traditional can be decoding when applied in artificial neural network. Nevertheless, explored rarely for encoding of artificial neural network so that it proposed encoder for artificial neural network forward with major structure built by Self Organizing Feature Map (SOFM). According to number of bits codeword and bits source mentioned the dimension of forward neural network at first then sets weight of distribution proposal choosing after that algorithm appropriate using for sets weight initializing and finally sets code word uniqueness check so that matching with existing. The spiking neural network (SNN) using as decoder of neural network for processing of decoding where depending on numbers of bits codeword and bits source dimension the spiking neural network structure built at first then generated sets codeword by network neural forward using for train spiking neural network after that when whole error reached minimum the process training stop and at last sets code word decode accepted. In tests simulation appear that feasible decoding and encoding neural network while performance better for structure network neural forward a proper condition is achieved with γ node output degree. The methods of mathematical traditional can not using for decoding generated Sets codeword by encoder network of neural so it is prospect good for communication security.

Abstract

In recent years, single object tracking has been extensively studied and achieved much development. However, multiple objects tracking is still an issue that remains to be addressed. Generally speaking, existing multiple objects tracking methods employ a manner of simultaneously tracking each object respectively. In this paper, we develop a multiple ship tracking algorithm based on deformable part model to accomplish multiple ship tracking in inland waterway CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) automated surveillance. Our method utilizes HOG features to construct the appearance models of ships. Then by taking full advantages of the spatial constrains between ships, we can successfully explore mutual relations for multiple ships, thus accomplishing multiple ship tracking in its true sense. Moreover, structured learning method is used to learn how to update the model parameters. Numerous experimental results on challenging inland waterway CCTV video sequences demonstrate that our method can effectively and accurately perform robust multiple ship tracking.

Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal that personnel control by the employer should be conducted using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in an easier and more modular way. The most important feature differentiating the RFID from the existing technologies is that it works wirelessly. The hardware used in the study can be managed via Ethernet port. In this study, it is ensured that data be transmitted via Internet by using a mobile cellular communication system. The control of the set up system can be conducted wirelessly via any environment in which an Internet connection can be established. Thanks to the created system, information about arrival and departure dates of the places to where the mobile personnel should go can be monitored 24/7 from anywhere that has internet connection. As a result of the tests and applications that have been conducted, it has been seen that the data could not be transmitted in a radio-frequency environment because of the error caused by the RFID tag. As a result of the calculations made after the application, it has been put forward that the error margin is 7±1%.

Abstract

As the 750kV substation has the characteristics like timing inconsistency, dual protection configuration and uncertain diagnosis result, a fault diagnosis method of substation with redundant protection configuration based on time sequence fuzzy Petri nets is proposed. In this method, redundant knowledge about fault component is represented by using two sets of protective information. On that basis, component redundant diagnosis-model based on time sequence fuzzy Petri net is constructed, which can be decomposed into main and redundant subnet-model, in which initial-information credibility is determined by using information-entropy, the time sequence constraint is checked and initial-information credibility is corrected by using the relationship between acted protection and breaker. Compared with fuzzy Petri net diagnosis method taking no account of time sequence factor, the proposed method can not only identify the malfunction information, but also obtain a certain result. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i9.2528

Abstract

A new watermarking method for 3D model robust to geometric attacks is presented. The algorithm firstly uses average normal of the part with the obivious geometric feature in the 3D model to establish coordinate system, which is not affected by geometric attacks such as translation, rotation and scaling; Embed the watermarking information into the appropriate vertices selected according to area of 2-ring neighbours of each vertex;Embedding strength adaptively adjusted in terms of curvature of the model facet. The choice of embedding position and the embedding strategy above effectively guarantee good transparency and maximum robustness of the proposed algorithm. Simulation results indicate the ability of  the proposed method to deal with the some attacks more than satisfactory results. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.3853

Abstract

Rotary car parking system (RCPS) is one of the effective parking models used in the metropolitan area because the mechanical parking system is designed vertically to conserve the land usage. This paper discussed the implementation of fuzzy logic with the Sugeno Inference Model on the RCPS miniature control system. The research started with kinematics analysis and a mathematical model was derived to determine the slot position and optimal power requirements for each condition. Furthermore, the Fuzzy Inference model used was the Sugeno Model, taking into account two variables: distance and angle. These two variables were selected because in the designed miniature RCPS there will be rotational changes of rotation and rotation in turn. Variable distance was divided into four clusters, such as Zero, Near, Medium and Far. While the angle variables were divided into four clusters as well, such as Zero, Small, Medium, and Big. The test results on a miniature RCPS consisting of six parking slots showed that fuzzy based control provided better results when compared to conventional systems. Step response on the control system without fuzzy control showed the rise time value of 0.58 seconds, peak time of 0.85 seconds, settling time of 0.89, percentage overshoot of 0.20%, and steady state error of 4.14%. While the fuzzy control system provided the rise time value of 0.54 seconds, settling time of 0.83 seconds, steady state error of 2.32%, with no overshoot.

Abstract

Paper presents an investigation on photovoltaic (PV) panel with a direct-current (DC) fan cooling system. The DC fan cooling system was installed at the back of PV panel in order to reduce its operating temperature. The performance of PV panel can be affected with the increase of its operating temperature. Therefore, with the aid of the DC fan cooling system, it can enhance the performance by raise the output power generated. However, DC fan cooling system is considered as an active cooling system, whereby it consumes input power in operating it. The thermal behavior of PV panel with different DC fan speeds were observed by using a computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software. From the temperature obtained, a current-Voltage (I-V) and power-voltage (P-V) can be formed by using PSPICE due to examine its electrical performance. As the DC fan speed increases, the power input to operate it also increase. Hence, it is crucial to find the optimum speed so that the power generated by PV panel that can be saved is high.

Abstract

An alternating current leakage can happen in electrical installation such as switchgear panel. If it’s not being detected earlier and address properly, it might lead to unintended incident or accident such as fire, electric shock, and power supply trip. Occasionally, if it appears, tracing its root cause can be difficult. The conventional method is by isolating one by one of the electrical loads with aids of multimeter and clamp meter.  Unfortunately, this conventional method could be a tedious job for installations involved in numbers of electrical panels. Therefore, an alternative method is deeming necessary. This paper describes research works on Infrared Thermography (IRT) as a new method in detecting leakage current as aids in resolving related electrical problems. The scope of study mingling around to determine IRT’s suitable parameters that represent the identification of leakage current, derive new mathematical equation correlating leakage current to IRT and conduct experiment accordingly. Two new equations derived which are leakage current relationship to thermogram and infrared net radiation power. The results of experiment adherence to the hypothesis drawn. Consequently, helps to realize predictive maintenance concept by detecting the root cause of leakage current ahead its triggering points of unintended incident and accident.
