Abstract

The standard particle filter (SPF) requirements system noise and measurement noise must be independent. In order to overcome this limit, a new kind of correlative noise particle filter (CN-PF) algorithm is proposed. In this new algorithm, system state model with correlative noise is established, and the noise related proposal distribution function characteristics were analyzed in detail. At last, the concrete form of the best proposal distribution function is derived based on the condition of the minimum variance of importance weight with the assumption of gaussian noise. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed new algorithm.

Abstract

Coverage improvement is one of the main problems in wireless sensor networks. Given a finite number of sensors, improvement of the sensor deployment will provide sufficient sensor coverage and save cost of sensors for locating in grid points. For achieving good coverage, the sensors should be placed in adequate places. In this article, estimation of distribution algorithm based on learning automata is presented for solving the sensor placement (LAEDA-SP) in distributed sensor networks by considering two factors: 1) the complete coverage and 2) the minimum costs. The proposed algorithm is a model based on search optimization method that uses a set of learning automata as a probabilistic model of high-quality solutions seen in the search process. It is applied in a various area with different size. The results not only confirmed the successes of using the new method in sensor replacement but also they showed that the proposed method performs more efficiently compared to the state-of-the-art methods such as simulated annealing (SA) and population-based incremental learning algorithms (PBIL).

Abstract

Sinusoidal signal can be used as stimulus to test static and dynamic parameters of ADC. A sigma-delta modulation based sinusoidal signal generator for ADC testing in SOC was introduced. The generator was built on the same chip with ADC. A numerical resonator generated a sinusoidal signal which was converted to a single bitstream by a sigma-delta modulator. Due to oversampling, the quantization noise was pushed to high frequency range. A high-quality sinusoidal signal was generated by low-pass filtering the bitstream. The sigma-delta modulator was inserted into the resonator to decrease silicon area overhead and calculate time. A cascaded integrator comb decimation filter was used as the low-pass filter. The amplitude and frequency of the output sinusoidal signal could be accuratly set by digital parameter of the generator to meet the requirement of static and dynamic performances testing. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i7.2818

Abstract

Contrast is an important factor affecting the image quality. In order to overcome the problems of local band-limited contrast, a novel image contrast assessment method based on the property of HVS is proposed. Firstly, the image by low-pass filter is performed fast wavelet decomposition. Secondly, all levels of band-pass filtered image and its corresponding low-pass filtered image are obtained by processing wavelet coefficients. Thirdly, local band-limited contrast is calculated, and the local band-limited contrast entropy is calculated according to the definition of entropy, Finally, the contrast entropy of image is obtained by averaging the local band-limited contrast entropy weighed using CSF coefficient. The experiment results show that the best contrast image can be accurately identified in the sequence images obtained by adjusting the exposure time and stretching gray respectively, the assessment results accord with human visual characteristics and make up the lack of local band-limited contrast. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i3.3719

Abstract

Test suite code coverage is usually used to indicate the capability of a test suite in detecting faults. Earlier research studies, which explored the relationship among test suite effectiveness and code coverage, have not addressed this relationship evolutionally. Moreover, some of these works were studied small or identical domain systems, which make the result generalization process unclear for other systems. Finally, some of these studies were conducted with automatically generated test suites, which might not present the real situation for studied systems, so the results cannot be generalized to real test suites. In this paper, the authors empirically explore three open-source software systems along with their 11 versions. These versions are evolved over time and might have more sources of code and test suites. This work objective is to study the correlation between test suite effectiveness, the size of the test suite, and coverage for three Java programs during their evolution. In this work, the code coverage, test suite LOC and mutation testing coverage are measured to assess the correlation between the effectiveness of fault detection, code coverage, and test suite size. Based on the result we cannot generalize the assumption that test size is always revealing a positive correlation with its effectiveness, but still weak to the high correlation between test effectiveness, test size, and coverage.

Abstract

Finding the best estimate of the process state from noisy data is the main problem in tracking systems, many efforts and researches have been done to remove this noise. More useful information about the target’s state can be extracted from observations by using a more appropriate model for the target’s motion or using additional sensors. In this paper, we will introduce two methods to improve the estimation of bearing-only target tracking problem in two dimensions (2D). The first method is by adding a third sensor and making a good alignment of those sensors, and at the same time an extended Kalman filter (EKF), unscented Kalman filter (UKF) and cubature Kalman filter (CKF) are implemented. The second method is by applying an adaptive nonlinear Kalman filter (ANKF) for two sensors to solve the problem of measurement variance uncertainty.

Abstract

Because of the solid foundation, mature technology, rich products of relational database ,it has been the first consideration for studying and storing the massive data. How to build an effective knowledge base based on the powerful storage and processing capability is always the key issue for the research and application of knowledge engineering and intelligent system ,but also the bottleneck knowledge management turns into the application of technology .In this paper ,a relational model of semantic network has been given and discusses with examples the storage of relational data table based on the semantic network knowledge representation. Once semantic network relational model  established, the knowledge base that based on semantic network will be set up. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the effectiveness of using educational blogs in teaching computers on the achievement of students in the second year in the College of Education and retention of information. The researcher used the semi-experimental method. The sample of research consisted of (36) students in the second year in the department of Biology, the College of Education at the University of Samarra has been divided into two groups, one of which consists of (18) students which has been considered as control group and has been studied using the classical method, and the experimental group which consisted of 18 students studied using the educational blog. Both groups (experimental and control) were similar in number and equal in the number of variables that could affect the safety of experimental design of the research. The researcher choose Chapter 4 of (Microsoft PowerPoint 2010) and Chapter 5 (Inserting Objects and Adding Movements in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010) from Computer Basics Part 2, which is taught to students of the second stage at the College of Education / University of Samarra, the researcher used the test of achievement in the computer material, prepared by the researcher consists of (50) paragraphs of the multiple choice, and to test the validity of assumptions used researcher statistical packages program (SPSS).

Abstract

This paper presents a new method based on wavelet for a class of nonlinear hybrid systems identification. Hybrid systems identification is composed of two problems; estimate the discrete modes or switch among the system modes and estimate continues submodels. In this paper, we assumed that haven’t any prior knowledge about data classification and submodels identification. Also the combining of feature vector selection algorithm and wavelet are used in subspace learning and support vector machine as a classifier. The results indicate that the error of using the wavelet in subspace learning process becomes low. In addition, the proposed method is convergent and has an acceptable response in presence of high-power noise.

Abstract

The Motor in a variety of electrical transmission and position servo system occupies an extremely important position. After the DSP technology being applied to the motor control, the unification of the hardware and the flexibility of the software can be combined. Take the brushless DC motor for example, studied the mathematical model and the structure of the motor control system, also obtained the design scheme of the DSP-based asynchronous motor control system. With TI's 32 bit fixed point DSPTMS320F2812 as the core design of the hardware system, we wrote the system software, debug the motor control system and the results show that the system achieves the expected effect.
