Abstract

Online banking and other e-banking modes are a very convenient way to banking in terms of speed, convenience and delivery costs, but they have brought many risks alongside them. Online banking has created a new risk orientation and even new forms of risk. Technology plays an important role as both a source and a tool for risk control. The purpose of this research is to identify the security situation of the e-banking application and to analyze the risks and attacks that could occur to the customers that, although it’s an e-banking application attacks could happen. Several mitigations were mentioned to overcome attacks like, access control is to mitigate eavesdropping this means that, restricting access to sensitive data is mandatory. Another way to mitigate is, update and patch which is for SQL injection meaning, it's vital to apply patches and updates when it’s available. These attacks may attack the whole application or target an individual where private information is stolen or changed. This research also shows how to apply several more different protections measures to protect oneself and organization from being targets of cybercrime.

Abstract

The amount of data processed and stored in the cloud is growing dramatically. The traditional storage devices at both hardware and software levels cannot meet the requirement of the cloud. This fact motivates the need for a platform which can handle this problem. Hadoop is a deployed platform proposed to overcome this big data problem which often uses MapReduce architecture to process vast amounts of data of the cloud system. Hadoop has no strategy to assure the safety and confidentiality of the files saved inside the Hadoop distributed File system(HDFS). In the cloud, the protection of sensitive data is a critical issue in which data encryption schemes plays avital rule. This research proposes a hybrid system between two well-known asymmetric key cryptosystems (RSA, and Paillier) to encrypt the files stored in HDFS. Thus before saving data in HDFS, the proposed cryptosystem is utilized for encrypting the data. Each user of the cloud might upload files in two ways, non-safe or secure. The hybrid system shows higher computational complexity and less latency in comparison to the RSA cryptosystem alone.

Abstract

This paper deals with implementing the tuning process of the gains of fractional order proportional-integral-derivative (FOPID) controller designed for trajectory tracking control for two-link robotic manipulators by using a Bat algorithm. Two objective functions with weight values assigned has been utilized for achieving the minimization operation of errors in joint positions and torque outputs values of robotic manipulators. To show the effectiveness of using a Bat algorithm in tuning FOPID parameters, a comparison has been made with particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO). The validity of the proposed controllers has been examined in case of presence of disturbance and friction. The results of simulations have clearly explained the efficiency of FOPID controller tuned by Bat algorithm as compared with FOPID controller tuned by PSO algorithm.

Abstract

A Botnet is one of many attacks that can execute malicious tasks and develop continuously. Therefore, current research introduces a comparison framework, called BotDetectorFW, with classification and complexity improvements for the detection of Botnet attack using CICIDS2017 dataset. It is a free online dataset consist of several attacks with high-dimensions features. The process of feature selection is a significant step to obtain the least features by eliminating irrelated features and consequently reduces the detection time. This process implemented inside BotDetectorFW using two steps; data clustering and five distance measure formulas (cosine, dice, driver & kroeber, overlap, and pearson correlation) using C#, followed by selecting the best N features used as input into four classifier algorithms evaluated using machine learning (WEKA); multilayerperceptron, JRip, IBK, and random forest. In BotDetectorFW, the thoughtful and diligent cleaning of the dataset within the preprocessing stage beside the normalization, binary clustering of its features, followed by the adapting of feature selection based on suitable feature distance techniques, and finalized by testing of selected classification algorithms. All together contributed in satisfying the high-performance metrics using fewer features number (8 features as a minimum) compared to and outperforms other methods found in the literature that adopted (10 features or higher) using the same dataset. Furthermore, the results and performance evaluation of BotDetectorFM shows a competitive impact in terms of classification accuracy (ACC), precision (Pr), recall (Rc), and f-measure (F1) metrics.

Abstract

This study shows hybrid continuous-phase frequency shift keying (CPFSK)/optical quadrature-phase shift keying (OQPSK) modulation transmission techniques’ performance efficiency with return-to-zero (RZ) line coding scheme–based fiber systems in passive optical networks. Max. Q factor/min. bit error rate variations versus modulation frequency and fiber length are studied in detail for various bits/symbol, based on hybrid proposed modulation transmission techniques. Also, optical power and received electrical power variations are simulated with fiber-length variations at a specified modulation frequency of 300 GHz. Max. Q Factor, min. BER, max. signal power, and min. noise power variations are based on hybrid modulation techniques for CPFSK/OQPSK of 32 bits/symbol and a modulation frequency of 500 GHz through a fiber length of 30 km.

Abstract

Education is the soul of a community; it goes from one generation to another. Exam is the prime responsibility of an educational framework. The reason for an examination is to select talented applicants for multiple positions. Exam is an important aspect of the education system to test students' abilities online and in oral papers. Every year we receive deferred/canceled exam messages due to paper leakage. Therefore, we have come up with a affordable and concise outcome, and we have decided to design and implement the "Exam Paper Leak Protection Framework", which will be a much more secure structure depending on the controller. Together with RFID Reader, Fingerprints sensor, Buzzer, LCD, and Wi-Fi module. First, the university will send a selection sheet to an educational institution "electronic sealed box" known the "electronic control box". Electronic control box is a prototype that can be proposed using controller, and the RTC to display the current date and time. If anybody tries to intrude the box the buzzer will beep and alert message will be send to the university.

Abstract

Compressive sensing is a powerful technique used to overcome the problem of high sampling rate when dealing with wideband signal spectrum sensing which leads to high speed analogue to digital convertor (ADC) accompanied with large hardware complexity, high processing time, long duration of signal spectrum acquisition and high consumption power. Cyclostationary based detection with compressive technique will be studied and discussed in this paper. To perform the compressive sensing technique, discrete cosine transform (DCT) is used as sparse representation basis of received signal and Gaussian random matrix as a sensing matrix, and then ????1- norm recovery algorithm is used to recover the original signal. This signal is used with cyclostationary detector. The probability of detection as a function of SNR and the probability of false alarm as a function of SNR with several compression ratios and processing time are used as performance parameters. The effect of the recovery error of reconstruction algorithm is presented as a function of probability of detection. Simulation results show that the performance of the system is maintained even at high compression.

Abstract

This study has clarified the fixed scattering section length with variable scattering section dispersion based optical fibers for polarization mode dispersion penalties at high data rates. The max. signal power/min. noise power is simulated against time after fiber length of 500 km with various scattering section dispersion. The overall total light power is simulated after fiber length of 500 km with various scattering section dispersion. In addition to the overall total electrical power is clarified through APD receiver at fiber length of 500 km with various scattering section dispersion. Eye diagram analyzer for signal quality is also simulated through APD receiver at fiber length of 500 km with various scattering section dispersion. The max. Q Factor, electrical signal power after APD receiver variations against scattering section dispersion variations for various data rates.

Abstract

Hand gesture recognition becomes a popular topic of deep learning and provides many application fields for bridging the human–computer barrier and has a positive impact on our daily life. The primary idea of our project is a static gesture acquisition from depth camera and to process the input images to train the deep convolutional neural network pre-trained on ImageNet dataset. Proposed system consists of gesture capture device (Intel® RealSense™ depth camera D435), pre-processing and image segmentation algorithms, feature extraction algorithm and object classification. For pre-processing and image segmentation algorithms computer vision methods from the OpenCV and Intel Real Sense libraries are used. The subsystem for features extracting and gestures classification is based on the modified VGG-16 by using the TensorFlow&Keras deep learning framework. Performance of the static gestures recognition system is evaluated using maching learning metrics. Experimental results show that the proposed model, trained on a database of 2000 images, provides high recognition accuracy both at the training and testing stages.

Abstract

This research aimed to design a device that can monitor heart rate and help nurses or doctors when they need to monitor and retrieve data of patients. By utilizing Android as a displayer makes it easier for nurses to minimize data retrieval time. The principle of the tool is to record the heart rate data received by the ear clip sensor to be processed by the Atmega328 microcontroller, then displayed on the oled LCD and sent to Android phones via HC-05 Bluetooth for display. If the heart rate data is beyond the normal range, the Android application will post a notification in the form of an SMS to the recipient's cellphone. In testing the tool, it uses a comparison device (pulse oximetry) to determine its accuracy. Based on the testing, the heart rate monitoring device had a small error value of 0.32% and had the most substantial error value of 0.81%. The application of the monitoring system in android data can be sent well at a maximum distance of 13 meters, as well as the implementation of telemedicine in the form of a warning (SMS) can work properly.
