Abstract

Fog computing is a decentralised computing infrastructure that brings data, storage, computation, and communication resources closer to end users by extending typical cloud computing services to the network edge. A fog node can serve another fog node based on their processing power allowing fog-to-fog interaction. Fog nodes, being independent must be trusted for delegation because they collect sensitive data and share with other discrete fog nodes, where standard cryptographic solutions are ineffective against the internal attacks tossed by rogue fog node. This paper proposes a Bi-directional trust management system for secure transactions and fog-to-fog collaboration to address this problem in a fog environment, which allows a service requester to assess a service provider’s trustworthiness and the service provider to assess the service requester's level of trust before beginning a connection. This trust management system works based on the recommendation system, which is estimated using logistic regression by fog service provider and subjective logic by fog service requester for the establishment of secured connection between them. Using quality of security parameters, the proposed work yields the result of decision making between the fog service requester and fog service provider.

Abstract

A vital feature of modern web search engine is the ability to display relevant and reputable pages near the top of the list of query results. A well-used search engine nowadays is Google search engine, it is the world's most popular search engine, rely on PageRank technology to determine a website's ranking. We put our attention on important benefactions to improving the quality of rankings via the value which is called damping factor, commonly the original suggestion d=0.85 by Brin and Page is the most common choice. In this paper, we suggest a new value which plays an important role to rank web sites accurately, our work focuses on damping factor value which improves the efficiency of PageRank value for each website. Our results show that the suggested value can get greater performance. Finally, we will show satisfactory result without link spam and dangling node applying PageRank algorithm on graphs with over 5000 links.

Abstract

Hand position recognition is very significant for human-computer interaction. Different kinds of devices and technologies can be used for data acquisition; each has its specification and accuracy, one of these devices is Kinect V2 sensor. A three-dimensional location of the skeleton joints is taken from the Kinect device to create three types of data, the first is joint position raw data, the second is angles between joints, the third is combined of both types. These three types of data are used to train four classifiers, which are support vector machines, random forest, k nearest neighbors, and multilayer perceptron. The experiments are done on the datasets of 30,480 frames from 127 volunteers with saved trained models are used to predict and classify the eight positions of hand in a real-time system. The results show that our proposed approach performs well with highly efficient and accuracy reaching up to 99.07% in some cases and an average time spent on checking frame by frame sequentially very short period, and some cases, it reaches 0.59*10-3 seconds. This system can used in many applications such as controlling robots or devices, comparing physical exercises, or even monitoring elderly and patients, and more.

Abstract

A previous study has been conducted integrating modification on secure hash algorithm 1 (SHA-1) to document integrity verification of printed documents using quick response (QR) codes. However, encryption is warranted as data is transmitted in plaintext directly to the server to prevent hacking and ensuring not only data integrity but data security as well. A more secured document integrity verification using QR code was designed and developed by successfully incorporating a better hashing algorithm– modified SHA-1 and integrating a modern encryption algorithm–modified blowfish algorithm. By integrating both, data integrity and data confidentiality is assured as compared to previous research. The developed software was checked against user requirements to check the acceptability of the software. Error rate and accuracy were also checked to see how the software performed. Based on the testing conducted, it has been found that the document integrity verification software using QR code with the integration of modified SHA-1 hash and Modified Blowfish encryption was acceptable, accurate, and more secure.

Abstract

This paper gives precise summary on the application of stepwise regression model based upon the pre-process analysis of boxplot for four chemical compounds into four different qualities of agarwood oil. In the global market, agarwood oil is acknowledged as a pricey and valuable nature product owing to its benefits. Unfortunately, there is no standard grading method for agarwood oil grade classification. Intelligent model in grading the quality of agarwood oil is crucial as one of the efforts to classify the agarwood quality. The main model chosen in this study is stepwise regression by concerned specific parameter which is the value of correlation coefficient, R2. To achieve this goal, four out of eleven significant compounds of agarwood oil that consist of 660 data samples from low, medium low, medium high and high quality are representing the input. The independent variables are X1, X2, X3 and X4 which refer to the ɤ-Eudesmol, 10-epi-ɤ-eudesmol, β-agarofuran and dihydrocollumellarin compounds, respectively. MATLAB software version r2015a has been chosen as the simulation platform for this research work. The result showed that the stepwise regression model has a correlation coefficient of 0.756 and p-value less than 0.05 significance level which successfully passed the performance criteria toward regression value.

Abstract

The best proximity point is a generalization of a fixed point that is beneficial when the contraction map is not a self-map. On other hand, best approximation theorems provide an approximate solution to the fixed-point equation Tҳ = ҳ. It is used to solve the problem to determine an approximate solution that is optimum. The main goal of this paper is to present new types of proximal contraction for nonself mappings in a fuzzy Banach space. At first, the notion of the best proximity point is presented. We introduce the notion of α ̌–η ̌-β ̌ proximal contractive. After that, the best proximity point theorem for such type of mappings in a fuzzy Banach space is proved. In addition, the concept of α ̌–η ̌-φ ̌ proximal contractive mapping is presented in a fuzzy Banach space and under specific conditions, the best proximity point theorem for such type of mapping is proved. Additionally, some examples are supplied to show the results' applicability.

Abstract

Genetic algorithm uses the natural selection process for any search process. It is an optimization process where integration among different vital parameters like crossover and mutation plays a major role. The parameters have an impact on the algorithm by their probabilities. In this paper we would review the different strategies used for the selection of crossover and mutation ratios and suggest a dynamic approach for modifying the ratios during runtime. We start with a mutation ratio 0% and crossover ratio 100% where the mutation ratio slowly increases and the crossover ratio decreases (MICD). The final mutation ratio will be 0% and crossover ratio will be 100% at the end of the search process. We also do the reverse process of considering the mutation ratio to be maximum and crossover ratio to be minimum and slowly decrease the mutation ratio and increase the crossover ratio (MDCI). We compare the proposed method with two pre-existing parameter tuning methods and found that this dynamic approach of incrementing the mutation and decrementing the crossover value was more effective when the size of the population was large.

Abstract

Currently, countries around the world are experiencing a health crisis due to the rapid spread of COVID-19. As a result, different sectors of the state and the citizens' economy have been affected. However, in Peru, the most affected sector has been tourism, since it contributes 4% of the gross domestic product and generates most of the jobs. The objective of the research is to develop a mobile application that allows the user to be guided on their trip, and that promotes national tourism, both from foreign and national visitors, carrying out the implementation in six phases under the scrum methodology; which consists of 3 sprints (deliverables) at the level of the entire project, which had a total duration of 6 weeks in which 35 story points were developed. In the same way, the prototypes corresponding to the functionality that the application will fulfill were added, allowing a better understanding for the reader. Finally, the difficulty in the use of the application and the fulfillment of its functionality was obtained as a result, this was carried out with the intervention of 20 users external to the project, in order to achieve its effectiveness.

Abstract

Solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation has become increasingly important as a renewable source of energy due to the many benefits it offers. These benefits include the ease with which it can be allocated; the absence of noise; the longer life; the absence of pollution; the shorter amount of time required for installation; the high mobility and portability of its parts; and the capability of its output power to meet peak load requirements. DC-DC converters are typically incorporated into solar energy harvesting systems because they allow for the more efficient exploitation of solar cells. One of the difficulties is in the selection of a suitable converter since this has an effect on the operation of the PV system. This study discusses the modernisation of several different DC-DC converter topologies for solar energy harvesting systems. Some of these topologies are boost, buck-boost, single-ended primary-inductance converter (SEPIC), Cuk, and flyback. The topologies have been compared so that detailed information on the complexity of the hardware, the cost of implementation, the efficiency of the energy transfer elements, the tracking efficiency, and the efficiency of the converters can be provided. This paper will be useful as a handy reference in choosing the best converter topology for solar energy harvesting applications.

Abstract

Solar simulator is used to analysis characteristic of the solar cells. The non-uniformity is its major performance. The traditional non-uniformity measurement calls single detector method. The paper’s objective is to design and construct an array detector scanning system and to determine the optimal scanning time to achieve the lowest uncertainty. To investigate the non-uniformity by our proposed method and the traditional method, our detector consisted of eight photodiodes mounted on an arm of a linear motion lead screw to guide the detector scaning onto the lighting area. A microcontroller applied for controling and measuring light irradiance in 64 points corresponding to IEC 60904-9 standard. The results showed that the array detector scanned at a speed of 33.33 mm/s to obtain the non-uniformity with the lowest uncertainty, less than 0.6%. Analysis results of the non-uniformity obtained from our system on the test areas of (mm×mm) 156×156, 166×166 and 200×200 compared with the single detector. It showed that the mean absolute error was 1.27. Our system provided a lower uncertainty than the traditional method. The measurement accuracy was acceptable. The advantage is for testing on different test areas within a single device. The measurement time is around 1/32 of the traditional method.
