Abstract

INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF GREEN TOURISM MANAGEMENT BASED ON MATARAMAN BARN IN BENDUNG VILLAGE, SEMIN, GUNUNGKIDUL, DIY: The community service activity on the implementation of green tourism based on Lumbung Mataraman was carried out in Bendung Village, Semin Subdistrict, Gunungkidul Regency, DIY Province. The main objective of this activity was to create policies to encourage tourists to visit the Lumbung Mataraman educational tourist attraction, which is integrated with green tourism and food security, particularly through the aspects of governance and accommodation. The methods applied in the community service activity included mapping the problems faced and conducting a Focus Group Discussion. The results of the community service activity showed that the management of the Lumbung Mataraman educational tourism site is faced with the reality that tourists still spend very little time enjoying the educational tourism experience, so their spending has not been able to stimulate the local economy. On the accommodation side, the use of residents' homes as guesthouses continues, but improvements are needed to meet tourist comfort standards. The conclusion of this activity is to strengthen the strategic direction of visitor management to optimize tourist interest and the need to improve accommodation quality, such as the suitability of guesthouses. The recommended suggestion is for tourism managers to extend the length of stay of tourists through more effective management and quality accommodation, thereby increasing local economic contributions and strengthening the image of Lumbung Mataraman as a green tourism destination based on local wisdom. Regarding accommodation, managers can maintain service quality to enhance the impression and image of educational tourism among tourists.

Abstract

INITIAL EDUCATION ON THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF MORINGA AND CORIANDER LEAVES FOR FAMILY WELLNESS AS A COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT EFFORT THROUGH LOCAL HERBAL UTILIZATION. This community service program aimed to improve health literacy and empower members of the PKK (Family Welfare Movement) through early education on the benefits of moringa (Moringa oleifera) and coriander (Coriandrum sativum) as local herbal ingredients with the potential to support family health. The activity was conducted in Benteng Gantarang Village, Gantarang District, Bulukumba Regency, involving 30 participants. The methods included socialization, health education sessions, hands-on training, and evaluation using a 15-item pre-test and post-test questionnaire. The results revealed a significant increase in participants' understanding, with pre-test scores rising from 46.84% to 80.52% in the post-test. This improvement indicates that the multidisciplinary, participatory-educational approach—integrating agricultural, economic, and information technology perspectives—was effective in raising awareness of the use of local herbal resources. These findings support the need to advance the program toward entrepreneurial development through herbal capsule production, product legalization (PIRT), and digital marketing strategies to broaden the social and economic impact of this community service initiative.

Abstract

EMPOWERİNG WOMEN FARMERS' COMMUNİTİES İN ORGANİC VEGETABLE BUSİNESSES İN URBAN AREAS: The Women Farmers Group in Pekalipan Village, Pekalipan District, Cirebon City serves as a strategic platform for housewives to develop economic potential through utilizing yard land in RW.10. This empowerment program emerged as a solution for mothers who have been solely engaged in domestic routines without having other productive activities. Under the guidance of field extension officers from the Cirebon City Agriculture Department, these women farmers are encouraged to optimize their home yards by growing various types of organic vegetables. The applied concept pays careful attention to women's role balance, where gardening activities do not interfere with their primary responsibilities as mothers and wives, but instead provide real contributions to alleviating family economic burdens. Through intensive mentoring methods, this program aims to inspire enthusiasm and motivation among women farmers to improve family quality of life while building economic independence through environmentally friendly organic vegetable cultivation. This initiative demonstrates that women's empowerment can be achieved without abandoning their main responsibilities and roles within the family.

Abstract

IMPROVING THE ECONOMIC LEVEL OF THE COMMUNITY IN TRASAN VILLAGE THROUGH TRAINING AND MENTORING FOR SUPERIOR CHICKEN FARMING BUSINESSES: Trasan Village, Bandongan District, Magelang Regency, faces significant economic challenges, particularly the high unemployment rate (18.29% in 2022). Low levels of education and dependence on the agricultural sector and small businesses lead to unstable incomes. One economic potential that has not been optimized is free-range chicken farming, which is still managed traditionally without financial records, modern cultivation techniques, or broad market access. This community service program aims to improve community welfare through training and mentoring for superior free-range chicken farming-based entrepreneurship. The main target is the productive age group who do not have permanent jobs. This program will provide education related to business management, efficient cultivation techniques, and broader and modern marketing strategies. The approach used includes simple financial management training, improving skills in raising free-range chickens, and facilitating marketing through digital media and partnerships with traditional markets and restaurants. The expected outputs of this program include publication of the results of the community service in the Abdipraja journal, articles in the online media Magelang Ekspres, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) certificates related to innovations in free-range chicken farming management. This program is expected to create sustainable businesses, reduce unemployment, and strengthen the local economy in an inclusive and sustainable manner.

Abstract

THE ROLE OF RUMAH DAULAT BUKU (RUDALKU) AND ACADEMICS IN SUPPORTING COMMUNITY BASED DERADICALIZATION IN INDONESIA. This study explores the role of Rumah Daulat Buku (Rudalku), a civil society organization, in deradicalizing former terrorist convicts through literacy and religious moderation. Using qualitative ethnographic and case study methods, data were gathered via interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving convicts, families, and facilitators. Findings show that literacy programs promoting critical thinking alongside moderate religious teachings effectively foster tolerance and social integration. Social support and community involvement motivate participation, while donor funding sustains activities despite resource. The study emphasizes the value of community-tailored interventions and the integration of literacy with religious moderation. Practical implications highlight the need for strong partnerships among government, civil society, local communities, and academia to ensure program sustainability. This research offers insights into soft approach deradicalization strategies and the vital role of CSOs and academics in social reintegration. Future studies should assess broader implementation models and long-term social and psychological impacts, providing a basis for more effective deradicalization policies and programs.

Abstract

COMMUNITY ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT THROUGH TOURISM VILLAGES IN AIR KULIM. This community service program aims to enhance the economic and social capacity of the residents of Air Kulim Village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency, through the development of a community-based tourism (CBT) village. This approach positions the local community as the main actors in planning, implementing, and managing tourism activities to ensure sustainable and inclusive development. The implementation method consists of four main stages: preparation, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The training sessions covered the concepts of tourism village development, entrepreneurship, local product innovation, destination management, and digital marketing. The program involved 15 participants. Evaluation results showed an average increase of 41% in participants’ knowledge, the establishment of the Air Kulim Tourism Village Forum (FDWAK) as a community-based tourism organization, and the creation of five local flagship products along with three thematic tourism packages that have become new economic attractions. Community income increased by 20–25% after the program, supported by effective digital promotion. Beyond economic impact, the program fostered collective awareness of the importance of environmental conservation and community collaboration in developing sustainable tourism. Therefore, this program demonstrates that CBT-based empowerment can serve as an effective model for rural economic development and for strengthening local cultural identity in Bengkalis Regence.

Abstract

ECOPOLIS VILLAGE: EDUCATION AND REAL ACTION ON INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BY THE PANDEGLANG REGENCY YOUTH COMMUNITY. The increase in waste volume without a proper management system has become a serious problem in Pandeglang Regency. The lack of education and active participation of the community, especially young people, in waste management has led to waste accumulation and potential environmental pollution. The “Kampung Ekopolis” community service program aims to empower youth communities in implementing a community-based integrated waste management model. The program implementation method consists of three main stages: (1) Education and Socialization, through counseling on waste sorting, the impact of plastic waste, and the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle); (2) Concrete Action, through the establishment of a waste bank unit, training in ecobrick making, and organic waste composting; and (3) Simple Infrastructure Development, in the form of a sorted waste collection point. The results of this program show an 80% increase in the youth community's knowledge and awareness of waste management. In concrete terms, a waste bank has been established, which has collected 150 kg of inorganic waste in one month, as well as producing ecobricks and compost that can be reused by the community. The Ekopolis Village program proves that youth communities can be effective agents of change in creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. The sustainability of the program is ensured through partnerships with relevant agencies and transparent financial management of the waste bank by local youth.
