Abstract

The linear gel is prepared by treating bio-diesel with various water samples collected from different water bodies. The new biodiesel based linear gel was employed in the recovery of oil wells through hydrofracturing and pilot tests were conducted for the first time. The viscosity of gel was measured at various bottom hole-circulating temperatures and it was found to vary from 32 to zero dial reading in the range of 45ºC to 60ºC. The gel was observed to break at 45ºC and 60ºC in 120 min. So the final temperature was selected as 60ºC for the application of gel for coal bed methane (CBM) wells. It was observed that higher levels of salinity in water helped in optimum utilization of gel in real-time application.

Abstract

Linear gel fracturing fluids are expressed with an extensive range of materials/polymers in an aqueous base. Earlier we developed fracturing linear gel with fossil diesel, bio-diesel and also used suspending anti-settling agents and emulsifiers. Here we report on a novel and an efficient method for the preparation of linear gel direct mix with water, guar gum and sodium acetate together instantly. In this research work, we used water instead of diesel without any need to mix anti-settling agents, suspending agents, emulsifiers that resulted in 30 viscosity linear gel. The degradation pattern observed from the breaker test showed that a reduction in gel viscosity depends on time, temperature & breaker concentration. Ammonium per sulphate or Ammonium per oxidisulphate and enzyme-G were used for oxidation purpose to break the gel gradually at a particular static temperature. Observations from experiments revealed that a small concentration of breaker provides rapid break compared to oxidative breakers. This article, designing of fracturing fluids describes how to use the fluid's viscosity generated by the gelling agents like guar gum for CBM operations.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country experiencing demographic growth, especially in the productive age. This growth has several consequences, among others, from income and consumption levels. The increase in the people's standard of living affects various industries, including the food and beverage industry. Apart from macroeconomic and demographic factors, technological factors play an essential role in increasing production. In this case, the availability of coffee machines on a home scale. This machine's existence enables small businesses to start their coffee cafe businesses to compete with large coffee companies. This research uses existing analytical tools between market potential analysis and boarding house structure analysis. This analysis found that there was a decrease in the barrier to entry to the ready-to-serve coffee industry. As a consequence, there are vast opportunities for small businesses to start a business using home-scale machines. This study explains the phenomenon of the rapid development of small-scale coffee in Indonesia in recent years.

Abstract

The acquisition of complete DNA is usually the first and most critical step in many basic molecular biology applications. Isolation of complete total DNA from tissue samples is related to different physical and biochemical properties of tissue. Long fragments of DNA are easily degraded and fragmented, which poses a challenge for extracting complete long fragments of DNA. By comparing several different extraction methods and verifying the concentration and length of extracted DNA, it is proved that the kit we used has high efficacy. We provide tissue kit DNA extraction for long fragments and obtain long fragments of high purity DNA from almost any type of tissue, especially muscle and blood tissues.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to apply the Auto Sales Forecasting software to predict sales transaction data. The Auto Sales Forecasting software consists of two main features namely descriptive analysis and forcasting features along with its visualization. Forecasting methods contained in the Auto Sales Forecasting application are forecasting methods of Simple Moving Average, Robust Exponantial Smoothing, Auto ARIMA, Artificial Neural Network, Holt-Winters, and Hybrid Forecast. The Auto Sales Forecasting software can intelligently choose the best forecasting method based on RMSE values. The results showed that the Auto Sales Forecasting software successfully analyzed the sales transaction data. From the analysis it was found that there were 43 types of products produced and sold by the Futry Bakery & Cake Store. Three of them are the types of products that are most in demand by consumers, namely Sweet Bread, Maros Bread, and Traditional Cakes 3500. The best selling product type, Sweet Bread, is used to build forecasting models. The best forecasting method is the Robust Exponential Smoothing method with the smallest RMSE value of 0.83 on the variable number of sold out products. Forecasting results using the Robust Exponantial Smoothing method show that the average number of products to sell for the next seven days ranges from 116 products with a certain confidence interval value.

Abstract

The using of videos from YouTube channel in the EFL classroom is imperative to fill the educational needs of the younger generation. Although resources from textbook have remained the standard for centuries, currently, with the fast pace of the development of technology, the usage of YouTube videos in teaching and learning has become a trend. There are a few studies conducted on students’ perceptions of using YouTube to learn the English language. The objective of this research was to investigate the students’ perceptions on the use of YouTube in learning English process at English Education Department, Universitas Negeri Makassar Indonesia. Data were collected using a questionnaire that collected background information of participants and a five-point Likert scale to gauge the students’ perception use of the YouTube in EFL classroom. Findings from this research indicate that the majority of students showed a positive perception toward and a willingness to use YouTube in the EFL classroom. It was also discovered that the students have used YouTube to help them completed their course assignments and study tasks. Hence, it can be concluded that the students preferred to use English YouTube videos to help them enhance their English language level proficiency.

Abstract

Soursop ( Annona muricata L.) is a type of fruit plant that contains nutrients and is a traditional medicinal ingredient that has multiple properties. This study aims to determine total flavonoid levels in young and old soursop leaf extracts using a UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Extraction of chemical content in young and soursop (Annona muricata L.) leaf extracts was carried out by maceration methos using 96% ehtanol solvent. Determination of total flavonoid levels of sample extracts was carried out through absorpation measurements at a wavelength of 432 nm. The result of the quantitative test were obtained from this study, namely total flavonoid levels in the samples of young soursop leaf extract as much as 410,833 mg/100g, whereas in large soursop leaf extract samples as many as 505,208 mg/100g.

Abstract

Building construction consists of two parts, namely the upper building and lower building. The upper building transmits forces to the lower building, which then from the lower building is channeled to the supporting soil. Pile foundation is a part of the lower structure that is used to receive and distribute the load from the upper structure to the supporting soil which is located at a certain depth determined by the results of the soil investigation. Piles are used as building foundations if the soil under the building base does not have enough bearing capacity to carry the weight of the building working on it. The stake used in this comparison is the Concrete Spun Pile and Bored Pile foundation. The results of the study show that the Bored pile method is slightly more complicated than the Concrete spun pile method. In terms of time required for the Concrete spun work is 6 hours, while for Bored piles per point is 9 hours assuming the work is 3 months In terms of the cost of foundation work of 1000mm diameter and 30m depth using the Concrete spun pile method is Rp. 13,704,241,634.10 for 156 points. whereas for the Bored pile method with a diameter of 1200mm and a depth of 30m is Rp. 14,242,797,932.85 for 78 points. So the foundation work with the Concrete spun pile method is more effective and efficient than the Bored pile method based on the method of implementation, time and cost.
