Abstract

The objective of the research id to modify the heuristic vee learning model to improve student’s understanding of mathematical concepts and to improve student’s mathematical creativity abilities as well as to see the interaction between heuristic vee learning models with their level of mathematical ability towards increasing student’s understanding of mathematical concepts and mathematical creativity. This research was implemented at Nommensen HKBP University and experimental study with a pre-test post-test control group design research design. The population is all fourth semester students by taking a sample of two classes through random sampling techniques. The data is obtained through semester scores for KAM, tests of mathematical understanding abilities, tests of mathematical creativity abilities. The data were analysed by two-way ANAVA test. Before using the two-way ANAVA test, homogeneity tests were used in the study and normality in this study was 5% significant. The problem solving process created by students is expected to meet the criteria of understanding and mathematical creativity in the learning group Heuristic Vee Learning Model. The research findings recommend a modification of the Heuristic Vee learning model as one of the learning approaches used on campus

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine A2 level speaking skills in first semester students of the German language education program at University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar in the 2018/2019 school year. To find out the predicate of students' speaking skills, applied the German speaking A2 assessment criteria model for the category of adult learners (Erwachsene) from the Goethe Institut. This research is included in a qualitative descriptive study in analyzing the ability to speak A2 level. The data for this study came from five German speaking dialogues transcript part 1, five German speaking monologue transcripts part 2 and five German speaking monologue transcripts part 3 German language study program students University HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar on daily topics. After analyzing the transcript of the speech dialogue, the authors found that (1) German language education program students at the University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar had four levels of speaking skills, with the predicate "good / gut", satisfying / befriedigend ", "enough / ausreichend" and "not competent / inkompetent"; (2) the lack of mastery of language, especially grammar and vocabulary is the weakness of dominant German speaking that is owned by first semester students of the German language education program University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar based on German level assessment criteria A2 level categories of adult learners (Erwachsene) from Goethe Insititut. Abstract

ABSTRAK “Efektivitas Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru dengan sistem zonasi di SMA Negeri Kota Medan sesuai dengan Permendikbud No.12 tahun 2017” Deaerlina Sinaga (dearlinasinaga@uhn.ac.id) Mian Siahaan (miansi1960@gmail.com) Surya Pardede (suryadarmapardede@gmail.com) Nova Siahaan (novayunitasarisiahaan93@gmail.com) Penelitian ini didasari oleh ke efektifan penerimaan peserta didik baru (ppdb) dengan sistem zonasi yang sesuai dengan permendikbud no.12 tahun 2017. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat ke efektifan peneriamaan peserta didik baru (ppdb) dengan sistem zonasi di SMA Negeri Kota Medan yang sesuai dengan permendikbud. Penelitian ini menggunakan Descriptive research dan Explanative research, serta analisis verifikasi menggunakan uji-t pada sampel bebas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem zonasi yang diterapkan di 11 sekolah SMA Negeri Kota Medan sangat efektif dan sesuai dengan Permendikbud No.12 tahun 2017. Persamaan hasil angket yang di peroleh dari tiap-tiap sekolah menunjukkan bahwa sistem zonasi yang telah di terapkan di sekolah-sekolah tersebut sangat efektif, sehingga hasil akhir yang di dapat mengatakan bahwa sistem zonasi yang diterapkan saat ini sangat efektif. Agar memperoleh hasil yang lebih baik untuk keefektifan penerimaan peserta didik baru (ppdb) dengan sistem zonasi sesuai dengan permendikbud No.12 tahun 2017 diperlukan data awal yang lebih akurat sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas dari tiap sekolah. Kata kunci: PPDB, Permendikbud, Efektivitas. ABSTRACT "The Effectiveness of Accepting New Students with the zoning system in Medan City High School in accordance with Permendikbud No.12 of 2017" This research is based on the effectiveness of the acceptance of new learners (ppdb) with the zoning system in accordance with Permendikbud no.12 2017. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the naming of new learners (ppdb) with the zonation system in SMA Negeri Kota Medan in accordance with Ministry of Education and Culture. This research uses descriptive research and explanative research, and verification analysis uses t-test on free samples. The results showed that the zoning system applied in 11 Medan City Senior High Schools was very effective and in accordance with Permendikbud No.12 of 2017. The equation of the results of the questionnaire obtained from each school showed that the zoning system that had been applied in schools This is very effective, so the final result can be said that the zoning system that is currently being applied is very effective. In order to obtain better results for the effectiveness of new student admissions (PPDB) with the zoning system in accordance with Permendikbud No.12 of 2017, more accurate preliminary data are needed so as to improve the quality of each school. Abstract

This study attempts to improve students’ reading comprehension by using questioning technique. This study was conducted by applying classroom action research. The subject of the research was class X-4 SMA N.1 Sei Rampah which consisted of 30 students. The research was conducted in two cycles, cycle I of three meeting and cycle II consisted of three meetings. The instruments for collecting data were quantitative data namely reading comprehension test and qualitative data namely, diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire. Based on reading comprehension test scores, students score kept improving in every test of reading. Based on diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire sheet it was found that the students were active and enthusiastic in learning reading through questioning techniques. The result of the research showed that questioning techniques significantly improved students’ achievement in reading comprehension.

Abstract

Growing awareness of the decision support needs and the desire to get a better information. Higher Education each year holds a large selection of high achieving students, namely students who have good achievements and meet the applicable requirements that must be met. To help determine the winner determination and find the best alternative, high achieving students who are able to provide alternative solutions can use the profile matching method. The use of the Profile Matching method very precise due to this method being able to select some of the best alternatives from aspects of existing criteria. In using this method the weight value for each aspect is required, such as Academic and non-Academic aspects carried out by the Student, after that the rankinged is carried out for all prospective students who excel in the selection a participants, and the results of selection use for decision-making in the determination of outstanding students.

Abstract

Efektivitas Penggunaan Model Pembelajaran Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Mahasiswa Pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Universitas HKBP Nommensen Medan. Elisabeth R L Sinaga, Yessica E Sinabariba Universitas Quality Berastagi elisabethandrew28@gmail.com ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran contextual teaching learning terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa inggris di Universitas HKBP Nommensen Medan, sekaligus untuk mengetahui perbedaan prestasi belajar mahasiswa pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan metode penelitian experiment yang pelaksanaannya menggunakan jenis quasi experiment dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 69 mahasiswa yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelas, yaitu kelas X MP A berjumlah 36 mahasiswa dan kelas X MP B berjumlah 33 mahasiswa. Dalam pelaksanaannya kelas X MP A menjadi kelas eksperimen sedangkan kelas X MP B menjadi kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data berupa hasil tes belajar yang dilaksanakan sebelum dan setelah proses pembelajaran (pretest dan posttest). Proses kegiatan belajar mengajar kelas eksperimen dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran CTL sedangkan kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran ceramah (konvensional) pada pembelajaran bahasa inggris. Hasil belajar pada kelas kontrol yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran ceramah (konvensional) memperoleh hasil kurang memuaskan. Hasil belajar tersebut dapat ditunjukkan dengan perolehan mean 75,03. Hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran CTL memperoleh hasil lebih baik. Hasil belajar tersebut dapat ditunjukkan dengan mean 81,44, modus 86 dan median 83, serta nilai tertinggi 97, sedangkan nilai terendahnya 60. Perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t independent sample test menunjukkan bahwa ttabel < thitung (1,664 < 3,167) pada taraf kesalahan 5%. Selisih persentase kenaikan dari pretest ke posttest juga lebih besar kelas ekperimen dengan 50,64% dan kelas kontrol dengan 41,48%. Jadi sumbangan efektif penggunaan model pembelajaran CTL sebesar 9,16%. Dengan demikian, dapat diputuskan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran CTL dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran ceramah (konvensional). Abstract

Translation and psychology are two different science, however, both of them can produce a great contribution in translation study. The data of the research are paired of translation and score MTBI. Paired of translation achieve from students' work and score of personality were from students' results in the form of a score. The design of this research is qualitative with interactive data analysis. This research figure out that the dominant personality type of translators is ESTJ (Extrovert, sensing, thinking and judging). The dominant personality type (ESTJ) produces a negative impact on translation ideology. In line with that, the weak ENFP and ISFJ type on translation ideology are negative. Contrary to that ESFP produced a positive impact since able to keep the balance between foreignization and domestication.
