Abstract

The purpose of this writing is motivated by the rise of money politics that occurs in almost every corner of the regions in Indonesia. Democracy is a system that is built where the people are given the absolute right to be given politically who is given the power to govern through the election process. The political dynamics can be seen through the democratic party in Indonesia. One of the challenges in the democratic party, through elections is the practice of money politics. Money politics takes place at every level of elections in Indonesia, which starts from the central level to the lowest level, namely the village. Money politics or money politics is an illegal practice in elections that can influence election participants with the lure of certain rewards and seems to have strong legitimacy from the people. People who have registered to participate in the election whether they participate in voting, or abstentions and vote because of money politics. This negative phenomenon arises in Indonesia's democratic transition. The process of money politics occurs due to the lack of regular supervision and outreach from the Election Supervisory Body, so that the elites or timses of political parties are free to do "generosity" when the day of D or before the election is held. In this regard, elections play a central role in Indonesia's democratic system. In several analyzes and studies, the Indonesian people still consider "reasonable" money politics conducted by election participants.

Abstract

The democratic system of government implies that there are equal rights in general elections between men and women. The concept of democracy which should originate from western thought faces challenges and obstacles to be applied in Indonesia, especially in patriarchal systems of society that focus on the role of men. The reality of a patriarchal system of society is to position women as a party below men, so women will find it difficult to develop themselves in a democratic political constellation with a one man one vote system. This study uses a qualitative approach with the case study method of simultaneous regional head elections in West Java, the urgency of conducting research in West Java because it has a patriarchal community system, and the election of the governor's head in West Java in 2018 there are no female candidates. The results of the research focus on the formation of an effective and efficient political education model to reorient leadership in West Java. The results of this study are aimed at ensuring that women in West Java have confidence in following the democratic political constellation.

Unfortunately, the implementation of elections often leaves various conflicts that arise in the community. Among the various issues that emerged were religious issues which returned to be the main issue in the Democratic Party event as well as in this year's presidential election. Some people consider that religion is only used as a political commodity to fulfill the interests of a group while others see that it is part of the implementation of religious values. As a result, horizontal conflict because and in the name of religion re-emerged which resulted in the nation's divisions difficult to avoid. Throwing issues and information involving religious elements to legitimize personal interests and groups became commonplace both online and offline with their respective approaches. This paper attempts to reconstruct the conception of religion in applying religious values and teachings in the context of elections in Indonesia. Ethics, legal norms and religious norms should be used as references by not ignoring the principles of fair and fair elections. Religious dialectics through the embodiment of religious values and teachings is truly an important instrument in the democratic process in Indonesia. In the end, the concept of democracy which has a faith accompanied by religious values will be able to build and maintain the integrity of the nation in the framework of the Pancasila.

Abstract

Women's representation on the political stage still leaves serious problems, in fact, Law Number 8 of 2012 concerning General Elections of Members of the DPR, DPD and DPRD confirms that the representation of women is at least 30 percent. One of the classic reasons that became the scapegoat of the political backwardness of women is a matter of patriarchal culture, namely women are considered more suited to take care of the domestic (private) while the male public. Political parties' alignments towards gender equality are still half-hearted. Every ahead of the election almost all political parties try to adopt a gender perspective (gender perspective). However, this intention does not appear to be truly sincere because the perspective of gender perspective only wants to maintain the existence of the party so that it is in accordance with the requirements of the Act. In fact, the representation of women is crucial given the decisions in the executive and legislative branches covering all aspects of national and state life. This study aims to show that as an important pillar of democracy, it is time for political parties to take part in the success of the agenda for women's representation. The results of this study indicate that political parties must have a real commitment to realize women's representation by being proven in writing into the party platform. Parties can use wing organizations engaged in the field of women as a source of cadres for political parties.
