Abstract

Invasive treatments to the children during the period of hospitalization cause pain reactions. The nurses need to know the factors related to pain reactions. The study aims to identify the factors related with pain reactions related to invasive treatments. The design of this study is observational research with cross sectional approach by using non probability sampling method through consecutive sampling with the amount of 90 children respondents. Multivariate data analysis use multinomial regression statistic test. The result of the analysis indicated that there was a significant relationship between fear and pain reaction (p value = 0,018). The emergence of pain reaction “avoidance” from the children who are in fear is as much 5 times greater than children who are not in fear. Nurses need to conduct nursing interventions that can reduce fear in the children behavior in order to minimize pain reaction in form of avoidance.

Abstract

Cancer is a collection of abnormal cells formed by cells that grow continuously, not limited, not coordinated with surrounding tissues, and not physiological functioning (Price & Wilson, 2005 in Nurhidayah, Hendrawati, Mediani, & Adistie, 2016). The case of cancer in children amounted to 4.7% of cancer at all ages. Indonesia is a country with high cancer cases suffered by children. Parents can make preventive efforts by identifying cancer-causing risk factors. Cancer prevention needs to be done to suppress the amount of morbidity and mortality of cancer. Efforts undertaken to prevent cancer by avoiding the risk factors of cancer-triggers. Preliminary study obtained parents ' knowledge about the risk factor of cancer is quite good, but there is no explanation about its relationship with the cancer prevention attitude that parents do to the child. This research aims to determine the relationship between parents ' knowledge and the prevention of cancer in children. The design of this research uses a descriptive cross sectional to figure out the knowledge level of parents on cancer risk factors in children, and its relation to the attitude of cancer prevention in children. The analysis used is using the Chi square test. The results of the univariate study obtained the most level of knowledge of respondents was good, and attitudes towards the prevention of cancer was positive. Results of bivariate analysis obtained there are no relationship between parental knowledge with cancer prevention (pvalue: 0.396; p > 0.05). The recommendation of this research is to keep parents improving their knowledge of cancer in children and applying cancer prevention efforts in daily life.

Abstract

The target for exclusive breastfeeding for infants is still lower than 80% of the national exclusive breastfeeding coverage target. Breastfeeding self-efficacy is the confident or belief possessed by mothers to breastfeed and be a predictor in exclusive breastfeeding for their babies, both in normal postpartum mothers and Post Sectio Caesarea. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in self-efficacy in normal postpartum breastfeeding mothers with post sectio caesarea. This type of research uses a comparative study with a sample of 70 respondents and sampling with quota sampling. The questionnaire uses Breastfeeding Self Efficacy (BSE). Data analysis used an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the postpartum normal breastfeeding mothers obtained a mean of 60.48, while the postpartum cesarean breastfeeding mothers obtained a mean of 46.80. There is a difference in self-efficacy in normal postpartum breastfeeding mothers with post sectio caesarea with a p-value of 0,000. The results of the study can be a reference in increasing counseling to nursing mothers about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding in infants aged 0-6 months.

Abstract

The cervical cancer mortality rate is still high, more than 92 thousand women in Indonesia among them due to cervical cancer, making it number two in the highest number in the world. this can be caused by the absence of an early monitoring process. Coverage of early cervical cancer coverage in Indonesia is very low, only around 5%. This is due to lack of knowledge about cervical cancer so that the incidence of cervical cancer increases every year. Objective: To describe mother’s knowledge level about cervical cancer in mothers age between 30 to 50 years in east Jakarta area. Method: This cross-sectional study applied a consecutive sampling technique to select 103 mothers in east Jakarta. This study had been conducted from june up August 2019. Data collected using questionnaire which consisted of mothers’ characteristic and mother’s knowledge level about cervical cancer. It has been tested for validity and reliability. The validity test using the Pearson product moment (r= 0,467-948), and reliability test with Cronbach Alpha (0.794). Result : the study showed that most of the mothers had low knowledge (75.7%). The results of the study proved that there is a relation between the level of education with knowledge about cervical cancer (p=0.000). Age, marital status, occupation, ethnicity have no relation with knowledge about cervical cancer Suggestions that researchers can give are nurses in providing counseling about cervical cancer to mothers, should look at the background level of mother's education so that mothers understand the knowledge received
