Abstract

The high level of population and activities in the city of Mataram also increases the use of vehicles as a secondary need for the community to help with daily activities in land transportation. As the use of vehicles increases, the demand for fuel oil (BBM) also increases. Fuel is a material that can be converted into energy by burning fuel where the fuel contains heat energy that can be released and manipulated. Vehicle emissions are a major source of pollution in big cities in Indonesia. CO2 is a compound consisting of the elements carbon and oxygen with the writing CO2. Carbon dioxide is a gaseous element that exists at atmospheric temperature and pressure. The hope for this research is to determine CO2 levels in the city of Mataram and prevent CO2 emissions from increasing. The results of calculating the highest vehicle volume are located in segment III Jalan Majapahit of 3506 pcu/hour which occurs at 17:00 - 17:15 WITA. The results of the regression analysis between vehicle volume as the X variable and CO2 gas emissions as the Y variable on the five road segments conducted by the study were y = 134.57 ln(x) - 970.14 with an R2 value of 0.8661 included in the 0.80 interval – 1,000 which means that the strength of the relationship between vehicle volume and CO2 emissions has a very strong relationship and vehicle volume contributes 86.6165% to CO2 emissions. Based on the results of the discussion that was carried out, the CO2 gas emission levels in all road segments carried out had an average CO2 gas emission level value of 103.31 – 108.56 kg/hour.

Abstract

Indonesia has the advantage of abundant marine resources. One of them is on the coast of Probolinggo , where the average community there utilizes marine natural resources for livelihoods. Monitoring ocean conditions such as sea surface temperature (SST) is used to facilitate and streamline the utilization of marine resources, namely by using remote sensing technology from Aqua MODIS satellite images which can later be used as a database in the field of Civil Engineering in the planning and construction of water buildings such as ports and docks. In this study, it can be used for SPL mapping using field data ( in situ ) and data from Aqua MODIS satellite imagery with the help of the SeaDAS application. The data used from Aqua MODIS satellite imagery is data from 2019-2023, with wavelengths of 412 nm, 531 nm and 667 nm. The results of the analysis and discussion of satellite image data concluded that the best data is the 2023 image data. For SPL with a wavelength of 531 nm, the logarithmic equation with the SPL = 3.7797ln(x) + 51.436 algorithm model, R 2 value = 0.1201 and correlation value R = 0.4567300 which has a moderate positive correlation.

Abstract

This comparative critical review study delves into the utilization of survey and experimental research designs within the intricate landscape of social sciences. Through a comprehensive analysis of six articles—three for each methodology—focuses on social media's impact on self-esteem (survey) and news consumption effects (experiment). The study's comparative framework critically evaluates the alignment of research designs with objectives, robustness of methodologies, and inherent strengths and weaknesses. It demonstrates how these methodologies, though distinct, offer complementary tools for comprehending complex social phenomena Accordingly, the survey-based investigations emphasize the critical understanding of the interplay between social media use and self-esteem, particularly among the youth. Simultaneously, experimental studies unravel factors shaping news consumption patterns, holding significance for news organizations and researchers seeking to enhance audience engagement. Limitations include sample size constraints and potential bias. Nevertheless, through examination of the research designs and specific contexts, the study underscores the importance of methodological choice and its impact on outcomes. It highlights the potential of innovative techniques like the Experience Sampling Method in surveys and the importance of controlled settings in experiments. These insights further enrich the social sciences' understanding of multifaceted societal dynamics
