Abstract

This research proposes a new model for further research on how to choose criteria in supplier selection for construction sector, through a literature review and analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of previously used methods. The methods used to select criteria in construction supplier selection were extracted from various scopus databases. The weaknesses and advantages of these methods were then analyzed. Based on these findings, several opportunities for improvement are proposed for further research. Finally, criteria methods for the selection of suppliers are proposed using statistical Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. Direction and guidance for subsequent research to select the criteria used in supplier selection, based on the advantages and disadvantages of the decision methods used. Limitations of this study are that it is focused on the methods of criteria design in the supplier selection. This study can provide a research direction on the design of criteria for supplier selection. This study provides ongoing guidance and avenues for further research. Use method / value for working out the developmental strategy for criteria selection are provided by statistical MCDM methods in the construction supplier selection.

Abstract

The application of Prejudice Geschill, or prejudicial disputes, in criminal cases with civil elements in Indonesia remains a significant legal challenge. This concept allows the suspension of criminal cases when civil disputes must be resolved first, yet the Indonesian legal framework provides insufficient guidance on how investigators should manage such cases. This research examines the application of Prejudice Geschill during criminal investigations involving civil issues and explores the legal gaps in existing regulations, particularly Perma No. 1 of 1956 and SEMA No. 4 of 1980. The study uses an empirical juridical research approach, combining a statute approach, conceptual approach, and case study method to analyze Police Report Number: LP/B/15/III/2024/SPKT/POLRES GIANYAR as a case study. The findings reveal that while the law allows the suspension of investigations, the lack of clear procedural guidelines causes inefficiencies, leading to delays in both criminal and civil proceedings. The study suggests reforming the legal framework to provide more precise guidelines for investigators and the judiciary in handling cases with civil elements. Legal reforms could streamline investigations, reduce delays, and ensure more effective legal outcomes.

Abstract

Prostitution in Indonesia continues to be a complex and contentious issue, involving not only pimps and sex workers but also service users who remain largely unregulated by existing laws. This research examines the gaps in Indonesia’s legal framework, particularly the absence of provisions criminalizing prostitution service users. The study aims to explore how Indonesian law addresses the criminalization of all parties involved in prostitution, focusing on service users and the enforcement of criminal sanctions. Using a normative legal research methodology, this study reviews existing laws such as Law No. 44 of 2008 on Pornography, Law No. 19 of 2016 on Electronic Information and Transactions, and the Criminal Code (KUHP). It applies legal analysis through the legislative approach and legal concept approach, identifying significant gaps in applying criminal sanctions to users of prostitution services. The findings highlight that while pimps and service providers are criminalized, service users remain largely exempt from legal accountability. The study proposes that service users can be prosecuted through adultery complaints as stipulated in Article 284 of the Criminal Code. These findings suggest the urgent need for legal reforms to address this gap, ensuring a more comprehensive legal approach to prostitution regulation.

Abstract

Lake Toba, is one of the tourist destinations currently being developed into a leading destination in the North of Sumatera, Indonesia. With the cultural diversity of the Batak Tribe and its rich history, Lake Toba has become a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists. One of the key concepts implemented in this destination is the application of digital technology, such as online payment, online information, and online booking and reservation systems. This study analyses the impact of technology utilization on the well-being of tourists visiting Lake Toba. Focusing on smart tourism technology, this research explores the relationship between digital usage experience, memorable tourism experiences, revisit, and tourist recommendations. Data were collected through surveys of tourists who had visited Lake Toba. A quantitative analysis method was used to examine the relationships between variables. The results show that using smart tourism technology significantly enhances the tourist experience, positively affecting their intention to revisit and recommend the destination to others. Memorable tourism experiences also play a key role in improving the overall well-being of tourists. This research contributes to developing technology-based tourism strategies to enhance tourist satisfaction which will lead to revisit and recommendations, ultimately influencing tourist behavior.
