Abstract

The formulation of the research problem is whether there is an effect of learning mathematics with problem solving methods on the ability to solve story problems in class IX students of SMP Negeri 6 Batauga?. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning mathematics with problem solving methods on the ability to solve story problems in class IX students of SMP Negeri 6 Batauga. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design method. The population in this study were students of class IX SMP Negeri 6 Batauga which consisted of 2 study groups with details of class IX A as many as 23 students and class IX B as many as 22 students and the samples in this study were taken from the entire population. This research data collection by using tests. The research data were analyzed using the average difference test. However, previously, descriptive analysis and inferential analysis were carried out. The results of this study showed that based on the results of descriptive analysis the average value of the increase in test results of experimental class students was 23.7391, the average increase in test results of control class students was 16.4762, and based on the results of inferential analysis by looking at the normality test, a significant value was obtained. the test results of the experimental class students were 0.200 and the control class was 0.133, while the homogeneity test showed a significant value in both classes 0.073 > 0.05. So it can be said that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous. By using the t-test, it is known that the significant value is 0.001 <0.05, which means that H0 is rejected. So it was concluded that there was an effect of learning mathematics with problem solving methods on the ability to solve math story problems in class IX students of SMP Negeri 6 Batauga.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the average learning outcomes of students who were taught the assignment method with feedback and those taught the assignment method without feedback in solving integer operations for class VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Baubau. This research is a quasi-experimental research (quasy experimental) with a quantitative approach. The population used in this study were all Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Baubau who were spread in 3 parallel classes with a total of 93 people. To determine which class is the experimental class and the control class, the three classes are drawn by lot. Selected as the experimental class is class VII B and class VII A as control class. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The instrument in this study was a test of mathematics learning outcomes. Data were analyzed by prerequisite test which consisted of normality test and data homogeneity test. The results showed that there was a difference in the average learning outcomes of students who were taught the assignment method with feedback and those taught the assignment method without feedback in solving integer operations for class VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Baubau. This is indicated by the value of t_count = 4.310 and the value of sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected.

Abstract

The Formulation of the problem in this study was whether there was an influence of learning independence on the mathematics learning achievement of VII grade student of SMP Negeri 11 Baubau in the Covid-19 pandemic era. This study aimed to determine the effect of independent learning on mathematics learning achievement of seventh grade student of SMP Negeri 11 Baubau in the Covid-19 pandemic era. This study was an Ex-post facto research. The population in this study were all seventh grade student of SMP Negeri 11 Baubau which consisted of 3 classes with a total of 91 students. The samples taken were 61 students from the total population. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire and documentation. Data were analysed using simple linear regressions analysis. From the results of descriptive analysis of the data showed that the level of student learning independence in general was still in the medium category with a percentage of 70.49%. Meanwhile, the level of student achievement in mathematics was generally still in the medium category with a percentage of 68.85%. Based on the results of calculations using simple linear regressions equation: Y = 0.957 + 0.621X. The results of the study concluded that it showed that learning independence had an effect on the mathematics learning achievement of VII grade student of SMP Negeri 11 Baubau in the Covid-19 pandemic era.this was indicated by the t-count value of 7.227, which was greater than the t-table value of 2.001, which was significant at 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of contextual learning on the understanding of three dimensional concepts in XII grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Baubau. This type of study was quantitative research. The population in this study were all students of class XII SMA Negeri 2 Baubau which consisted of 11 classes, namely 396 students. The instruments used were tests and questionnaires. Data collection in this study was carried outu using a test consisting of 10 items in the form of an essay for the final test. Samples were taken using a random sampling technique, namely class XII IPA 8 as an experimental class as many as 36 students and class XI IPA II as a control class as many as 36 students at SMA Negeri 2 Baubau. Data collection techniques in research using tests and questionnaires. The technique of collecting data in the study used a questionnaire. The analysis technique used by the researcher was also 2 types of statistical analysis, namely descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Before testing the hypothesis, a prerequisite test will be carried out, such as the normality test and the homogeneity test. Based on the results of calculations using the independent samples t-test, the t value was 3.593. For the t-table value at the significance level of 0.05 (5%) and db = 70, which was 2,000. Based on this value t-count t-table, the study hypothesis was accepted. So that, it could be concluded that contextual learning had significant influence on understanding the three dimensional concept of XII grade at SMA Negeri 2 Baubau.
