Abstract

All the Hans Urs von Balthasar theology is the Trinity. For him everything flows from interpersonal relationships in the Trinity. The starting point for understanding the Trinity must depart from the event of love. Jesus is a manifestation of God’s love that appears to humans. God’s love is beautiful. Jesus revealed the beauty of the Triune God. The fundamental aspect of beauty is obedience from Jesus. Jesus as the beauty that manifest the Father and the Holy Spirit. We will not be able to understand the beauty of Christ without referring to inter-Trinitarian beauty. It does not stop at mere beauty but God is involved in the history of human life. In other words, God is involved in drama with humans. On the Good Friday, there was a drama between God and the world on the cross. But a more dramatic drama took place on Holy Saturday. Drama also occurs in the life of the Trinity. The three divine persons empty themselves which are united in a bond of love. The real kenosis occurs in a triune life. The Trinity lives in the Church and maintains the Church. The church’s teachings are undeniable because of the truth of the Trinity itself. Seluruh teologi Hans Urs von Balthasar adalah Tritunggal. Baginya segala sesuatu mengalir dari relasi antar pribadi dalam Tritunggal. Titik tolak untuk memahami Tritunggal harus berangkat dari peristiwa kasih. Yesus adalah wujud kasih Allah yang tampak kepada manusia. Kasih Allah sendiri sangat indah. Yesus mewahyukan keindahan dari Allah Tritunggal. Aspek fundamental dari keindahan itu yakni ketaatan dari Yesus. Yesus sebagai keindahan yang mewahyukan Bapa dan Roh Kudus. Wujud dari Yesus mengacu kepada wujud dari Allah dalam diri-Nya sendiri.Trinitas seperti cinta di dalam dirinya sendiri. Kita tidak akan dapat memahami keindahan Kristus tanpa mengacu pada keindahan inter-Trinitaris. Tidak berhenti pada keindahan semata tetapi Allah terlibat di dalam sejarah kehidupan manusia. Dengan kata lain Allah terlibat drama dengan manusia. Pada peristiwa Jumat Agung terjadi drama antara Allah dan dunia di kayu salib. Namun drama yang lebih dramatis terjadi pada Sabtu Suci. Drama juga terjadi juga di dalam kehidupan Tritunggal. Tiga pribadi ilahi saling mengosongkan diri yang disatukan dalam ikatan cinta. Tritunggal itu yang hidup di dalam Gereja dan memelihara Gereja. Ajaran-ajaran Gereja tidak terbantahkan karena kebenaran Tritunggal itu sendiri.

Abstract

This article was in fact a lecture delivered by the author on June 10th, 2018 in Surabaya during the national Seminar touching on the Catholic Church in Indonesia and the actual Indonesian political Situation called “Tahun Politik” (Political Year). The author spoke about the Indonesian Catholic Church in the midst of Indonesian political struggle and the future challenges the Catholic Church should face. There were three social-political Phenomenons that have damaged and are still damaging the life of Indonesian nation, including the Indonesian Catholic church, namely the complicated birocratization; the unhealthy politization of the religion and the demoralization of the law. These phenomenons should be taken into account by the Catholic Church, when it comes to concrete commitment of the Catholic Church to give positive impact on Indonesian society based on its own Catholic faith. Artikel ini pada kenyataannya adalah ceramah yang dibawakan penulis pada tanggal 10 Juni 2018 di Surabaya pada kesempatan Seminar Nasional yang bertemakan tentang Gereja Katolik Indonesia dan Situasi aktual politik Indonesia yang disebut “Tahun Politik”. Penulis berbicara tentang Gereja Katolik Indonesia di tengah pergulatan politis dan tantangan-tantangan yang harus dihadapi gereja Katolik ke depan. Ada tiga fenomen sosial-politis yang telah mencederai dan masih sedang mencederai kehidupan berbangsa, termasuk Gereja Katolik, yaitu birokratisasi yang rumit; politisasi yang tidak sehat terhadap agama dan demoralisasi hukum. Fenomen-fenomen itu perlu disikapi gereja Katolik, bila gereja Katolik berkomitmen dalam terang iman Katolik untuk menjawabi tantangan-tantangan itu secara positif demi kebaikan bersama masyarakat Indonesia.

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic studies show a lot of the development of the method of da’wah in the digital age society, the more varied and the forms. The method of da’wah in the style of conventional lectures is no longer the only method used by religious teachers. Technological advances through applications as religious products can be the medium used in preaching one of them, namely Ustadz Yusuf Mansur through the Paytren application. This study argues that the commercialization of religion with the method of buying and selling spiritual products is a form of representation of the commodification of religion which results in the transformation of forms of religious practice in digital era society which is reflected in the Paytren paid user application community initiated by Ustadz Yusuf Mansur. This causes religious understanding as well as religious practices to take place through the consumption of commercial religious products. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach by conducting observations and interviews with users of the “Paytren” epayment application initiated by Ustadz Yusuf Mansur. Kajian Islam kontemporer banyak menunjukkan perkembangan metode dakwah pada masyarakat era digital semakin variatif ragam dan bentuknya. Metode dakwah dengan gaya ceramah konvensional tidak lagi menjadi satusatunya metode yang dilakukan oleh kalangan ustadz. Kemajuan teknologi melalui aplikasi sebagai produk keagamaan bisa menjadi medium yang digunakan dalam berdakwah salah satunya yaitu ustadz Yusuf Mansur melalui aplikasi Paytren. Penelitian ini berargumen bahwa komersialisasi agama dengan metode jual beli produk-produk spiritual merupakan wujud representasi dari komodifikasi agama yang menghasilkan transformasi bentuk praktek keagamaan di masyarakat era digital yang tercermin dalam komunitas pengguna aplikasi berbayar Paytren yang digagas oleh Ustadz Yusuf Mansur Hal ini menyebabkan pemahaman agama sekaligus praktek agama berlangsung melalui konsumsi produk keagamaan yang komersial. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan cara melakukan kajian literature, observasi dan wawancara terhadap para pengguna aplikasi e-payment “Paytren” yang digagas oleh ustadz Yusuf Mansur.

Abstract

The feast of Dalok is the highlight of the feast in the series of death-rites performed by Dayak Uud Danum’s tribe in Serawai, District of Sintang, West Borneo. It is the biggest feast celebrated by this tribe. There are plenty of Symbols found in the rites, and they are picturing the relationship among the human beings and also between the people and The Supreme Being, Tahala’. These Symbols are tied each other very closely like a knot. The author of this article is using Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutics to reread and reveal the meaning of symbolical knots which are acceptable to the public. Pesta Dalok adalah puncak dari rangkaian upacara kematian dalam suku Dayak Uud Danum di Serawai, Kab. Sintang, Kalimantan Barat. Pesta Dalok menjadi pesta terbesar yang dilaksanakan oleh suku ini. Ada begitu banyak simbol dalam ritus-ritus di pesta ini dan semuanya menggambarkan relasi antara sesama manusia maupun antar manusia dengan Realitas Tertinggi, Tahala’. Simbol-simbol ini saling berhubungan dengan sangat erat ibarat sebuah simpul. Penulis menggunakan hermeneutika Paul Ricoeur untuk membaca ulang dan membuka makna dari simpul-simpul simbolik yang dapat diterima oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

The tide of the existence identity of local religion in Indonesia is becoming an ongoing reality in Indonesian society. This situation is inseparable from social construction that misunderstand the faith practiced by local religion in Indonesia. In the understanding of Indonesian society, there is still a presumption that local religion are group of animist, primitive, conservative and godless. In this research, local religion give other perspective about local religion in modernity life. Local religion reconstructs their identity through a new identity that is more easily accepted by the state and society. The existence of local religion is also inseparable from a state that is still not able to provide equal are as citizens. This research focuses on identity of Ugamo Malim that have variety of dinamics and limitations such as others local religion in Indonesia. The experience of the loss and difficulty of maintaining a local religious identity in the past has provided awareness of state recognition. The state becomes a place as well as a guarantee for them in maintaining the continuity of their identity. The various negative stigma attached to local religion disappear as we see in the social life and religiousity of Ugamo Malim.Ugamo Malim who reconstructs their identity in modern life so that it has many similarities with the majority religion. The reconstruction of local religious identities is renewed to be relevant to modern life but without reducing the meaning of their identity. Pasang surut eksistensi identitas agama lokal di Indonesia menjadi realitas yang masih berlangsung di masyarakat Indonesia. situasi ini tidak dapat dilepaskan dari konstruksi sosial atas kesalahpahaman tentang praktik kepercayaan dari agama lokal di Indonesia. Dalam pemahaman masyarakat Indonesia masih ada anggapan bahwa agama lokal sebagai kelompok animisme, primitif, konservatif dan tak bertuhan. Dalam penelitian ini, agama lokal memberikan suatu perspektif baru tentang agama lokal di kehidupan moderen. Agama lokal merekonstruksi identitasnya melalui identitas baru yang lebih mudah ditereeima oleh negara dan masyarakat mayoritas. Eksistensi agama lokal juga tidak terlepas dari negara yang masih belum mampu memberikan hak yang sama sebagai warga negara. Penelitian ini fokus pada Ugamo Malim yang memiliki beragam dinamika dan hambatan di masyarakat Indonesia. Pengalaman atas kehilangan identitas dan sulitnya mempertahankan identitas Ugamo Malim menyadarkan mereka untuk mendapatkan pengakuan dari negara. Negara menjadi jaminan bagi mereka untuk dapat mempertahankan identitasnya. Beragam stigma negatif yang melekat pada Ugamo Malim di hilangkan saat melihat keseharian mereka dan praktik religiusnya di masyarakat. Identitas baru yang di bangun Ugamo memiliki persamaan dengan agama mayoritas di Indonesia. Rekonstruksi identitas religius dibarukan dan menjadi relevan dengan kehidupan moderen tanpa mengurangi makna identitasnya.
