Abstract

This article discusses the reality of diversity by using the concept of "multiculturalism". In political projects, multiculturalism includes the constitutional-based civil society movement fighting for equality and justice. In the context of Indonesia, Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution are the basis of a multicultural political constitution. The discussion on constitutional-based multiculturalism politics then becomes a kind of theory to understand the practice of multiculturalism in the context of North Sulawesi. Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe and understand how the thought of John Calvin who was a famous reformer figure from time to time. Calvin paid great attention to Christian education especially in the church. He arranged systematically the way, the content of the teaching, as well as the qualifications, self-image of the teachers both pastors and religious teachers who were all based on the Bible and to glorify God. The method used in this paper is a qualitative research method with a literature study study in which the researcher reviews, compares, formulates and analyzes Calvin's thoughts both in his life context, his thoughts through books, documents, journals and other relevant literature studies. From the findings it can be said that Calvin's educative theological thought is purely based on the Bible. For Calvin, the teaching of the Christian faith is determined by the Bible and interpretations that are right and right and can have a good influence on the church and society. Calvin is always thinking of the right way so that the quality of the faith of the congregation continues to develop well and can be implemented in a variety of social life. In the midst of challenges today the church is required not to be carried away by various kinds of ideas that do not emphasize the Bible as the basis of human life. As it was done, Calvin the priests, teachers of religion today are required with full responsibility to think deeply about ways to continue to nourish the true Christian faith based on the Scriptures so that the quality of their faith is well preserved and lives glorifying God.

Abstract

Tolerance is an attitude or behavior that respects and respects all other people's actions as long as the actions are in accordance with the rules and norms in the existing community. The tolerance of fellow human beings can be manifested in the life of religious tolerance. This study aims to: Know the adaptation strategies of Christian minorities in maintaining a life attitude of religious tolerance. This research was conducted in Tuntung Timur Village, Pinogaluman Subdistrict, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency for 3 (three) months, from October to December 2019. This research method was qualitative with the technique of determining the sample / informant was selected by purposive sampling to obtain the required data. The sampling technique is done by snowball sampling. Based on the results of research on social adaptation strategies undertaken by Christian minority communities in maintaining the attitude of religious tolerance, namely: Adaptation Strategies Based on Norms of Life consisting of: 1). Active Participation in the Implementation of Government Programs, 2). Active Participation in Social and Cultural Activities, 3). Active Participation in Majority Community Religious Activities, 4). Abstract

This research is a meaning of Ma'kaaruyen; a traditional musical work of art originating from Minahasa. Ma'kaaruyen is assumed to be one of the arts that reflects the life of the Minahasa community. Through a musicalological approach to the analysis of musical elements and the analysis of the texts of the Ma'kaaruyen song, meaning is found that integrates with the values ​​of the life of the Minahasa community. In the musical meaning it is known that Ma'kaaruyen has musical elements that form this song included in the category of melancholy singing, so that with lyrics or without lyrics this song is a melancholy song that is able to influence the soul. Ma'kaaruyen's extramusical meanings of the musical elements refer to the nature and character of traditional Minahasa community life, including: rhythm, melody, intervals, harmony, texture, and song form. The elements of music in Ma'kaaruyen are a reflection of the character and nature of traditional Minahasa society, which is associated with simplicity, calmness, gentleness, cooperation (mapalus), and mutual affection. Ma'kaaruyen's extramusical meaning from lyrics is that Ma'kaaruyen is a song that conveys religious messages, advice, affection, and expressions of heart (lamentations and regrets).

Abstract

In the learning process that involves material, methods, media props and so on must also experience changes towards renewal (innovation). Based on the problems seen, it is related to the improvement of Christian learning achievement by applying expository teaching models to grade VI students of SD Inpres Pondang. The purpose of this study in order to determine the increase in Christian learning achievement after applying expository teaching model. In this study using action research and data obtained from formative tests, observation sheets of teaching, and learning activities of students. The results of the study found that student achievement has increased from cycle I (51%) to cycle II (89%). Through this research, it can be said that the expository teaching model can positively influence achievement, interest, attention, and participation, learning motivation of SD Inpres Pondang students, and this learning model can be used as alternative learning of Protestant Christianity.

Abstract

This study aims (1) to improve student achievement in class A semester VI Christian Religious Education Study Program Manado State Christian Religion Institute through cooperative learning with jigsaw techniques, (2) to increase interest and motivation to learn students in class A semester VI Education Study Program Christian Religion Institute of Manado State Christian Religion through cooperative learning with jigsaw techniques. This research is classroom action research. Total population of 145 people and a sample of 14 people. The research data were obtained from test scores on pre-cycle, cycle 1, cycle 2 and questionnaire. The results showed that cooperative learning with jigsaw techniques can significantly improve achievement, interest and motivation of students in class A semester VI of the IAKN Manado Christian Religious Education Study Program. The percentage of the number of students who obtained a minimum passing grade achievement increased from 60% in the pre-cycle to 80% in cycle 1, and to 90% in cycle II. Students' interest and learning motivation increases, from 70% in cycle 1 to 90% in cycle 2.
