Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in branding, product design, and digital marketing in order to enhance their business competitiveness. The program was implemented through a series of training sessions and mentoring activities involving 57 MSME participants. It consisted of three main components: (1) branding and business preparation, (2) product and packaging design using simple digital tools, and (3) social media–based marketing for digital promotion. Evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-training tests, structured questionnaires, and visual documentation of product packaging. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and comparative analyses of participants’ test scores and design outputs. The results indicate substantial improvements in participants’ understanding of branding principles, design aesthetics, and digital literacy. Quantitatively, the average test score increased from 9.1 in the pre-test to 10.0 in the post-test, and many participants successfully redesigned their product packaging and began using social media more systematically for promotional purposes. As a result, MSME owners developed clearer product identities, more attractive packaging, and more consistent online engagement. Overall, the program demonstrates that short-term, community-based interventions can effectively enhance MSME competitiveness and digital readiness while supporting sustainable local economic growth. These findings underscore the importance of integrating creativity, technology, and community participation in MSME empowerment initiatives.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the quality of life related to dental and oral health in high school students through educational interventions and dental and oral health examinations. The implementation method of this service uses education and clinical examination practices of dental and oral health. The evaluation instruments for this activity are pre-test and post-test questionnaires to measure knowledge and a questionnaire to describe the quality of life related to dental and oral health. The results of this service indicate a very high caries prevalence (85.71%) and more than half of the students (54.29%) have an oral hygiene status (OHI) that requires attention. The educational intervention proved very effective, marked by a significant increase in the average score of students' knowledge from 72.3 to 93.7. From the quality of life aspect, although the majority of students did not report any problems, specific cases were found experiencing negative psychosocial impacts such as discomfort, embarrassment, and inferiority due to their dental condition. Education successfully increased student knowledge. However, in fact, based on examinations, there are still clinical problems with students' teeth and mouths. Therefore, a sustainable program is needed to encourage behavioral changes to significantly improve dental and oral health and students' quality of life.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance residents’ skills and economic independence through training in the production of cost-effective and environmentally friendly liquid detergent. The program involved 25 participants, comprising housewives and micro-entrepreneurs in Ogan Ilir Regency. A participatory approach was employed, consisting of socialization, technical production training, and continuous mentoring stages. Evaluation was conducted using an assessment sheet divided into two components: evaluation of program implementation and evaluation of its impact on participants’ business development. A Likert-scale-based assessment was used to measure participants’ levels of understanding, satisfaction, and motivation, while the data were analyzed descriptively using Microsoft Excel. The results indicate that participants acquired a solid understanding of liquid detergent production, including ingredient formulation, mixing techniques, and product packaging. In addition to technical skill development, the training enhanced participants’ entrepreneurial awareness, production efficiency, and understanding of the economic potential of household-based products. The evaluation findings demonstrate a significant increase in community knowledge and motivation to develop independent businesses, although further mentoring in technical refinement and marketing strategies remains necessary. This program aligns with the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to poverty alleviation, decent work, and sustainable consumption and production. With continued support from higher education institutions and local governments, this initiative is expected to serve as a model for sustainable village economic empowerment and contribute to improving community welfare.
