Abstract

Servant leadership is a leadership style that prioritizes service to subordinates and focuses on the holistic development of employees. This leadership approach is often associated with increased employee engagement and improved organizational performance, particularly in public service institutions where service quality is a critical success factor. This study aims to examine the effect of servant leadership on service performance at the Jambi Class I TPI Immigration Office, with employee engagement as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative research approach was employed, involving all 40 employees working in the passport service division. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the aid of SmartPLS software. The findings indicate that servant leadership does not have a direct and significant impact on service performance. However, servant leadership positively and significantly influences employee engagement. In turn, employee engagement exerts a strong and significant effect on service performance. These results confirm that employee engagement serves as a full mediator in the relationship between servant leadership and service performance. In other words, the positive effects of servant leadership on service outcomes are channeled entirely through its ability to enhance employees’ emotional commitment, enthusiasm, and psychological investment in their roles.

Abstract

Introduction: Outbreaks remain one of the biggest public health challenges today. The prevention and control of diseases with outbreak potential depends on the effectiveness of a successful response system with the help of surveillance activities. The aim of this study was to determine the evaluation of surveillance in rapid response to health crises due to disasters and outbreaks. Methods: This study used the literature review method, which refers to the PRISMA method. Reference searches were conducted on three databases, namely Google Scholar, Science Direct, PubMed. A total of 6 articles were selected based on the inclusion criteria. Results: The results of the literature review show that in the input aspect, most surveillance systems face challenges in the form of limited number and competence of officers, lack of funds, and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. Although the methods and SOPs are standardized, their application is not consistent. In the process component, there are obstacles in collecting and analyzing data and disseminating information that is not yet optimal. As a result, the output of the surveillance system has not met national standards. Conclusion: Strengthening the capacity of human resources, providing financial support and infrastructure, and improving the quality of method implementation and analysis are needed to optimize the health surveillance system in Indonesia Keywords: Evaluation, Surveillance, Outbreaks

Abstract

The extensive oil palm plantations in Jambi Province have the potential to generate significant waste, impacting the environment. One hectare of oil palm plantation yields approximately 10 tons of fronds and 75 tons of trunks. Furthermore, for every 1 kg of palm oil produced, 4 kg of dry biomass is generated. However, this palm waste also holds potential for providing economic value-added for farmers and fostering the growth of new MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). This research aims to identify the value-added generated from utilizing community-owned oil palm solid waste by transforming it into valuable products for the people of Jambi Province. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research. Data was collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and direct interviews with MSMEs and community-based oil palm waste processing groups. The value-added from the waste was then calculated using the Hayami value-added method. The results indicate that processing waste fronds into compost yields the highest value-added compared to processing midribs into woven products or trunks into palm sugar. The value-added for compost fertilizer per 1 kg of oil palm fronds is IDR 12,403.32. Consequently, the profit margin received by the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDesa) or the entrepreneur is 86.3%.

Abstract

n facing the global transition towards an open knowledge economy, Jambi Province encounters complex challenges such as digital inequality, agrarian governance issues, and the sustainability of its natural resource-based economy. This study aims to map the direction, trends, and research gaps in global literature related to regional economicbusiness dynamics relevant to the context of Jambi, as well as to evaluate their implications for evidence-based public policy formulation. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric approach, this study analyzed 123 Scopusindexed articles (2000–2025), following the PRISMA protocol and utilizing Bibliometrix and VOSviewer for analysis. The results reveal seven dominant thematic clusters, namely participatory governance, ecosystem sustainability, agribusiness value chains, agrarian conflicts, smallholder productivity, socio-ecological transformation, and consumer preferences for sustainable products. There is a notable gap in the literature concerning the integration of Jambi’s development strategies based on open information systems, digitalization of farmer cooperatives, and data-driven cross-sector policy approaches. Jambi's position in the global research landscape remains marginal, marked by low levels of international collaboration. This study recommends strengthening open research ecosystems, fostering triple helix partnerships, and developing regional economic policies supported by geospatial information systems. Abstract

Indonesia is one of the most dynamic growth centers for the startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia. Limited access to financing often hampers startup growth and sustainability potential in Indonesia. Therefore, innovation strategies in financing or funding programs are key in overcoming these obstacles and paving the way for more significant developments. The approach taken in this research is qualitative, using desk research analysis by exploring data from various sources as secondary data. The results of the analysis show that funding has a positive and significant impact on startup business actors' growth development and sustainability. One of the funding sources is from the National Research and Innovation Agency through the Advanced Indonesian Innovation Research (RIIM) Startup funding scheme, which has funded 74 startups with a total funding of IDR 24 billion (2022 - 2024). Funding comes from BRIN and universities, ministries/institutions, and other research and development institutions. With strong support from various parties and Indonesia's increasingly mature startup ecosystem, the future and development of startup businesses in this country look increasingly bright. With innovation, creativity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, startup entrepreneurs in Indonesia are ready to conquer challenges and achieve success in the global business world.
