Palmyra Fiber as Additional Materials on Solid Concrete Brick of Aggregate
ISSN : 20399340     EISSN : 20392117     DOI : 10.36941/mjss
The use of waste as an additional material on the building work was increasingly actively developed, such as straw, styrofoam, bagasse, cow manure. The key drivers of the use of waste is the potential for waste is increasing, due to the depletion of non-renewable resources. Papyrus rod diameter 60 cm, length 30 meters, has a volume of 5,652m3 as well as the edges of the Rods that can be used for construction with a thickness of 3 cm has a volume 0,942m3, Pith and fiber volume content of the stem 4,71m3/rod, then in one rod, there are 2 to 3 bunches each fruit bunches yield as much as 20 to 30 items for one harvest, by weight of fruit fiber 101.2 gram / fruit, Fiber characteristics are round and smooth is expected to reduce cracks in solid concrete brick and also can reduce the use of sand. This study aims to determine the compressive strength of the composition of the additional material of Rods fiber content and Fiber of palmyra fruit with a percentage 3%, 6% and 9%, mixing ratio; 1 cement and 5 sand in the manufacture of solid concrete brick. Rods fiber content used the average Ø1,031mm with a tensile strength of single fiber 39,305N / cm and fruit fiber to an average value Ø0,40mm with a tensile strength of single fiber 33,691N / cm. Making test specimen with a length of 20cm, width 10cm and thick 8cm. The test results of compressive strength after 14 days with the lowest value at 3% of additional material combination of fiber content of 6% fiber stem and fruit by 70,384Kg/cm²with a water content of 15,254% In weight position 2,935Kg as well as the highest value on the combination of additional material 0% rods fiber content and 3% fruit fiber by 98,821Kg/cm² with a water content of 15,031% In weight position 3,058Kg. While N (without additional material) with a compressive strength below the average id 63,704Kg/cm2 with water content of 10,167 in weight position 3,072Kg. Research result of solid concrete brick with additional material of rods fiber content and palmyra fruit fiber was included on the type B70, the average value of the compressive strength of 78.57 Kg / cm² (SNI-03-1348-1989) with a water content of <25%.

Abstract

In the early 20th century to the 1070s in this country, library utilization formed an indispensable arm in theteaching/learning process especially at the secondary school level.Sound graduates were produced as a result. Could the samebe said today of our graduates both at the secondary and tertiary levels of our school system? This research therefore wascarried out to investigate whether the library has become a myth in the attainment of success at the school certificate level. Onehypothesis was formulated to guide the study: “the performances of secondary school students in their examination are notsignificantly influenced by the use of library services” 200 outgone and present out-going SS III students (100 each) wereinvestigated. Hypothesis was tested by means of chi-square technique at the 0.5 level Hypothesis was accepted and it wasrecommended that the Nigerian Library Association should go beyond publications and conferences to meet with StateGovernors and Commissioner of education on how to set aside a considerable budget for the revamping of Library Education inNigeria.

Abstract

IntroductionThe second half of the last century will go down in the history of higher education as the period of its mostspectacular expansion: an over sixfold increase in student enrolments worldwide, from 13 million in 1960 to82 million in 1995. But it is also the period which has seen the gap between industrially developed, thedeveloping countries and in particular the least developed countries with regard to access and resources forhigher learning and research, already enormous, becoming even wider.

Abstract

Despite the emergence of a common agenda for vocational education and training across many countries, it isincreasingly recognized that policy in practice varies significantly according to national context. Of course, it is one thing todevelop grand visions of the vocation education and training society within official policy documents, translating such visions intoreality usually turns out to be rather more problematic. This paper evaluated the pedagogical legacy of vocation education andtraining in these countries by analyzing the contribution of teachers and students to the development of VET based on theenrichment of historical and cultural environment. Norway had encountered difficulties in attempting to further progress thecause of vocational education and training. Nigeria to reach “the position” might be a very strong statement because of differentsituations, cultures, etc. Nigeria to work toward a goal to which Norway offers a good model could be more realistic.

Abstract

This paper endeavours at establishing the implication of TQM for achieving competitive advantage. The manuscriptexemplifies the role played by three major facets with relation to TQM. These three foremost areas are effective leadership, employee involvement and performance management. TQM cannot be implemented suitably without the effective leadershipprovided by the top management. The top management is in charge for the strategic goal setting for the organization and tomotivate the employees for implementing the goals. At the same time performance management is another vital area for TQMimplementation as it manages and measures the performance of each employee relative to the corporate goals of theorganization. Moreover without involving the employees in the decision making process TQM cannot be executed. Employeesare the one who transform the written strategies into practical forms so involving them in the decision making will enhance theirmotivation and interest to perform the specific task. For successful TQM execution organizations need to focus on these threeareas with respect of attaining competitive advantage in this dynamic business era and continuously evolving customer needs.

Abstract

The article analyzes and compares the accent system of two typologically different languages, Ukrainian and Chinese.Comparative analysis of accent system of these provide the basic data to determine phonetic error also can help to preventmistakes and facilitate general comprehension on a prosody level to which word stress belongs. It is important to emphasize thatthis study deals with word stress only in two-syllable Chinese words. Special attention is paid to the study of word stress inChinese Language (Mandarin) for a Ukrainian audience. Ukrainian and Chinese languages represent different types oflanguages. Ukrainian belongs to Slavic group, and is a flectional type; Chinese belongs to the Sino-Tibetan family, and is anisolating syllabic type language. Phonetical system of these two languages is different, which is the main reason Ukrainian nativespeaker have trouble mastering the Chinese phonetical system. Improper application of word stress can render communicationdifficult or even impossible. Comparative research of these two phonetically systems can help in the development of studyingmaterials based on the phonetic features of Ukrainian and Chinese. Thus, the aim of the article is, first, to determine accentrhythmsystem in Ukrainian and Chinese language traditions. Secondly, compare the word stress in different types of languages, namely flectional and isolating. Word stress helps to organize syllables into one language unit; this language unit has a certainaccent-rhythm structure.
