Objective: Evaluation of presentable tumor size in oral squamous cell carcinoma was the objective of thestudy.Patients and Method: The study sample comprised of ninety-eight biopsies diagnosed as oral squamouscell carcinoma presented to dental college from 2015 to 2020. Result and analysis of presentable tumor sizewhen reported. Results: Male to female ratio was 2.5:1. Among the 295 diagnosed OSCC cases presentable tumor sizeswhen reported, most of the cases were T2 (42.37%) followed by T1 (18.3%), T3 (11.86%), and T4 (6.1%).Conclusions: Oral squamous cell carcinoma is one of the major health problems in India. Strategies must bemade to improve the present scenario of health care service, where Government-run health care centres areburdened with ever-increasing patient pool, and to avail treatment in such centres is always a compromisewith time and health. Oral health and cancer awareness programs should be undertaken for prevention, earlydiagnosis, and management of the affected population. Regular long-term follow-up is also necessary forthese cases to avoid the recurrence of the disease and a better quality of life.

Twentieth-century shows a great increase in the popularity of E-cig or electronic cigar or Electronic NicotineDelivering System (ENDS).When smoking is considered as a leading cause of preventable death and strictmeasures had been taken to limit smoking in public places, this ENDS is gaining popularity worldwideamong the youngsters. A new term Vaping is given to the process of consuming nicotine or other substancethrough a vaporising tool or popularly called E-cigar. People are using it as a smoking cessation tool also, though this fact is being debatable after many types of research on it. The increasing use of it, along with alack of knowledge of its health effect both short and long term is worrying.

Congenital lip pits are developmental defects that occur on the paramedian portion of the vermilion borderof the lower lip. They may be unilateral or bilateral and may occur as an isolated conditionor in associationwith cleft lip and or cleft palate. When the labial pits occur in association with cleftlip and/or palate thecondition is referred to as Van der Woude Syndrome. In 1845, Demarquay(1945) first described the lowerlip pit and postulated that the condition occurs due to the indentation of the central incisor. Later in 1954,Anne Van der Woude first reported the association of congenital pitsof the lower lip with cleft lip and palate.Congenital lower lip pits are present in 88% of all VWS patients, and in 65%–75% of the cases these areassociated with cleft lip and palate. The Van der Woude syndrome is a rare condition the phenomenon of acleft lip and cleft palate combined in the same pedigree makes it unique. The VDWS should be consideredin the differential diagnosis of cleft lip and palate. The dentist may be the first person to diagnose thissyndrome, and therefore, should be aware of its variable expressions. A proper treatment plan at the correcttime will help to satisfy the psychological and esthetic needs of the patients. Further, genetic counseling ishighly recommended.

Condyle fractures account for 25-35% of mandibular fractures and deserve special care from the rest of themandible due to their anatomical distinctions and capacity for healing. Past clinical and biomechanical trialshave suggested the use of two miniplates for condyle fracture fixation. Two miniplates allow the proximalcondyle fragment to a certain scale, and thus are useful in low fractures. This present case report shows theuse of delta-shaped mini plates (titanium) in ORIF of subcondylar fracture.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking We used when we created them-as stated by Sir AlbertEinstien. Today’s diverse change in the oral condition of the patient needs meticulous understanding by thedentist of the underlying problem and how to solve it in stipulated time, money, environmental and socialcondition of the patient. Health care systems worldwide deliver services for diseased and drug addicts butmost lack oral health care services. Lack of appropriate settings, valid assessment protocol for conductingoral health studies, and poor collaboration between dental and general health care sectors for the diseasedand drug addicts is interfering terribly with the accurate picture of today’s situation. Moreover, lack ofappropriate policies to improve access to dental services, lack of interest among dental professionals intreating the diseased and addicted persons, and low demand for dental care from these sections is leading totoday’s ineffective all-around dental treatment.

The discovery of imaging and its use in orthodontics is a subject of technology describing biology.Developments in arch-wires,brackets and composites changed the mechanics of orthodontic treatment. Thedevelopments in imaging technology have changed the perception of the clinician as well as the patienttowards esthetics. The newer imaging technology helps to study the craniofacial growth pattern of youngerpatients and to know the effect of orthodontic treatment on this dynamicprocess of growth. Earlier, in 20thcentury, 2-dimensional (2D) radiography was used, but in 21st century, the new 3-dimensional (3D) scannersuse less ionizing radiation and give more information than conventional radiographs. This article is areview of the imaging technology used in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning from the use of thecephalostat to the introduction of cheap, reduced radiation Cone Beam imaging of 3D cephalograms.
