Abstract

Studies reveal that, world’s two-third of population suffers from chronic form of oral diseases and wounds. The principle etiological factor behind is a polymicrobial complex, which initiates the increase in theformation of reactive oxygen species e.g. per hydroxyl radicals, peroxyl radicals, aryl peroxyl radicalsetc. These ROS may cause damage to protein, lipid and DNA at sub molecular level. To combat thesemicrocosmic reactions, a revolutionary inventiveness for optimum oral health was carried out by a Europeanbased company in the form of a product, Blue-M. This acts as a continuous supplier of oxygen and byperfusion of this oxygen, it enhances healing of wound. It further aids in collagen synthesis, angiogenesisand is comprehensively Osseo inductive as well as anti-inflammatory in nature. Thus, this review aims atunderstanding the obligatory functions of oxygen and the biology behind neutralization of inflammation aswell as to recognize the essential benefits of this novel product, which in near future, after numerous studies, may even be used as an effective anti-microbial agent without developing resistance.

Abstract

In our oral cavity various pathological conditions have been reported which includes different type of lesionswhich require a proper diagnostic criteria, clinically correlation including radiographic & histological reportsfor its diagnosis. In this article we focus on the various types of red and white lesions of the oral cavity whichhave been classified based on its etiology, variation in structure, appearance, precancerous potentiality &etc. The lesion appears white due to changes in the epithelium which can be caused by an increase in thekeratinization of normal keratinized mucosa, keratinization of non keratinized mucosa or thickening of theepithelium. The reduced vascularity or fibrosis of mucosa can also lead to the whiteness of the oral mucosa. The red appearance of the lesion appears because of the inflammation, atrophy, vascular dilation, and purpuraor reduced in the keratinization of the oral epithelium. Generally the red and white lesions are benign and alarge proportion of the normal population has been affected by it. The most common precancerous conditionwhich comes under these lesions classification is Leukoplakia. A proper management of this condition isrequired to avoid its future complication. All conditions should be properly examined by taking a proper andcareful history. However a biopsy is much needed for these conditions to be diagnosed accurately

Abstract

In the past two decades’ immediate dental implant placement has been considered satisfactory treatmentmodality. The dental implants can be placed in the fresh extraction sites by simultaneous use of bone graftmaterial. The patient was suggested to go for a treatment procedure for the extraction of and immediateimplant therapy. A bonegraft material was used to fill the space between the implant and the sockets alongwith planning a two-stage surgical procedure to optimize bone healing. When the osseointegration wascomplete abutment connection was placed with no complications radiographically examination showeda slight marginal bone reduction after 6months of follow-up. The immediate placement of implants helpsin preserving the form and contours of the hard and soft tissues, by decreasing the necessity augmentationprocedure. It also helps in minimizing the surgical exposure of the patient, reducing the treatment time andalso improves the esthetic outcomes.

Abstract

Laser applied science has been newly introduced into the dentistry to substitute drilling. The 1st dentalexperience for pediatric patients using laser can be useful from the point of preventive & therapeuticapproach. This article approached to educate about laser physics, its components, fundamentals, mechanismof its action, applications, advantages, disadvantages, laser safety & medico-legal aspects of laser specificallyconcerning pediatric dentistry. Due to their minimal invasion, treatment by laser is well accepted by children. The use of scalpels conventionally, may produce post-operative discomfort & thus, prolonged wound healing.Being safe in use, lasers are an important in-office alternative to treat pediatric dental patients. Abstract

Cancer-associated fibroblasts commonly known as CAFs which have a modified phenotype as comparedto normal fibroblasts are exclusively present in the tumor microenvironment surrounding the tumor mass. They play inevitable roles in tumor initiation, progression, invasion, and metastasis. The constant crosstalk present in between the cancer cells and CAFs is responsible for the maintenance of such a malignantenvironment. Thus, they may prove to be efficient targets in the field of cancer therapeutics which may yieldexcellent results. This review throws light upon their much evident roles in carcinogenesis as well as howthe mechanisms driven by them may be targeted in therapeutic interventions.

Abstract

The most critical aspect of investigative process, is the development of questions that correctly assesspublic perception, knowledge and behaviour. Precise random sampling and high answer rates are lost, if theinformation obtained is based on ambiguous or partial questions. Hence, in order to establish effective steps,a series of substantial questions are formulated and compiled in form of a Questionnaire.
