Dental clinics can play a crucial role in spreading the SARS-CoV-2 infections because of the nature of closecontact with the patient’s oral cavity and aerosol generating essential dental procedures. Dental practicesin regions affected with SARS-CoV-2 are needed to take utmost precautions and follow strict effectiveinfection control protocols even when the movement control/lockdown is gradually lifted post pandemic. Thus, we aim to summarise the current research findings on SARS-CoV-2 in dental settings and relevantinternational guidelines and recommended management protocols for the dental clinica. The knowledge onthe viral properties of SARS-CoV-2 and epidemiologic characteristics are essential to implement propermitigation strategies against transmission of Covid-19 infections via dental clinics.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma is a rare salivary gland tumor that has a consistent slow growth rate and hasdestructive biological behavior because of its deep peripheral tissue invasion and higher recurrence rate andtendency of distant metastasis. The involvement of adjacent vital structures may lead to death. Its clinicalpresentation also causes difficulty in diagnosis. Surgical resection following radiotherapy is the maintreatment modality of Adenoid cystic carcinoma. Even after successful therapy of the primary tumor, thereis a high rate of local recurrence and in contrast to other epithelial malignancies, it has a very poor prognosis. The survival rate is good for the initial 5 years but it falls after 5 years follow up.

A cyst is a Pathological cavity which consists of solid, semi-solid or gaseous contents which are not createdby the accumulation of pus and which may or may not be lined by epithelium. The cysts of the jaw aredivided into two categories namely epithelial and non-epithelial. The epithelial cysts are further classifiedinto developmental and inflammatory. Based on their origin the developmental cysts are further classified intoodontogenic and non-odontogenic cysts. Hence the odontogenic cysts are described as jaw cysts originatingfrom the odontogenic epithelium. A glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC) is a developmental cyst. A glandularodontogenic cyst (GOC) is a sparse entity of odontogenic origination. A glandular odontogenic cyst is knownfor its hostile behaviour, unforeseeable nature, indeterminate clinical features and high recurring potentiality. The aggressive behaviour may be attributed to the cell kinetics of the lining epithelium or the conservativetreatment approach. Apart from the aforementioned peculiarities, GOC is also notorious for impersonatingclinicopathological lesions such as Botryoid odontogenic cyst, which is also a regionally aggressivepolycystic form of a lateral periodontal cyst and central mucoepidermoid tumour further complicating thediagnosis. These features further establish Glandular odontogenic cyst as an independent biological entity. This article focuses on discussing the various aspects of the rare entity that is a glandular odontogenic cystin terms of histopathological features, radiological features, diagnostic criteria, clinical features, cytologicalinvestigations, differential diagnosis and treatment approach.

Measures of caries control involve identifying the disease process and the risk factors; this is achieved byfirst performing a caries risk assessment for the patient in order to identify his/her risk factors for cariesdevelopment. With a better understanding of the caries process, there comes a change in operative dentistry.Although there is considerable variability between dentists, there is more emphasis on preventive dentistrythan ever before. The shift in emphasis appears to be occurring in dental schools in which curriculum andpractical skills are focused more on caries risk assessment, modern management of the caries disease. Thispaper reviews about the various caries risk assessment approaches and models and stresses on the need fora risk assessment based approach.

There is a supply-demand gap of about 65 lakh allied health professionals in India. With India facing aheavy burden of disease with many challenges as achieving millennium development goals, shortage ofskilled manpower will be a great hurdle for the health care delivery system. In such a situation, AlliedHealth workers can play a major role in providing holistic health services to the community. Though manyinstitutions or Universities in India are generating allied healthcare professionals, there is no uniformityin the outcome of such professionals. There is no standardization of this professional till date. Hence, toestablish a Centralized council is a need of an hour so that all such programs will come under a commonplatform and generated manpower will be able to provide the necessary services to the community. Inthis article, some suggestions are provided to improve the quality of AHPs, like estimation of workforceaccording to WHO requirement, uniformity in curricula, common nomenclature for all programs, creatingjob opportunities in private and public sectors etc.
