Abstract

The development of global technology and information gave an impact on the increasement of Cyber media users which allow them to connect with each other without any obstacles by using the Internet, this of course presents a new threat to the security of a country. The openness and freedom offered by cyber media makes it difficult for the state to monitor and supervise cyber space which is considered too broad, making cybersecurity a complex topic where actors, motives and targets vary and always evolving every day. Security politics are an inseparable part of this discussion because the use of state security concept is a fundamental component in drafting regulations and policies. This research aims to explain the relation between the complexity of cybersecurity, the role of political security and defense diplomacy. Qualitative method and literature study technique is used in this research. This research uses the assistance of defense diplomacy theory and the concept of national security which serves as a tool to dissect existing problems. From this research, the researcher can conclude that the complexity of cybersecurity encourages political security actors to take responsibility in protecting citizens from various security threats including cyber threats, through defense diplomacy in the form of signing an MoU regarding a Transfer of Knowledge with other countries.

Abstract

Current global and regional conditions have an influence on policies so that in conducting interactions between countries, they will relate to the surrounding countries. Countries in the Southeast Asian region as in ASEAN have the same foundation in achieving their national interests so that it will affect the interactions that occur in this era of information technology. This aim is not solely done to create mutual trust, but to prevent conflicts and disputes. The development of information technology will certainly affect state interactions so that the state in achieving its interests must be based on existing interactions. Countries in ASEAN have relationships and interactions that exist within them, be it in the economic, social, cultural, educational and even political fields. The purpose of this research is to study, know and analyze the influence of interaction between ASEAN countries in the Information Technology Age. This research method uses qualitative research methods with descriptive analytical research type so that the authors participate in analyzing the problems that occur. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of interaction that exists between ASEAN countries in the Information Technology Age so that in achieving their interests, ASEAN countries interact in these various fields.

Abstract

Economic and political development are expected to be able to bring an optimal distribution of welfare to all levels of society. However, when the policies are not properly organized, this will certainly present economic and political inequality which then becomes the gateway for conflict and violence to arise in the community such as local conflict and terrorism. The purpose of this study is to determine the relation between the poor economic and political development and its implications for the emergence of local conflicts and terrorism. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive analysis and library study as a technique in collecting the required data. In addition, this study uses conflict theory and social welfare theory and also uses the concept of economic and political development and the concept of terrorism as a tool to explain the problems of this research. From the research that has been conducted, the researcher then draws the conclusion that the poor implementation of existing policies regarding the economical and political development that occurs has an indication of the occurrence of local conflicts and the emergence of crimes like terrorism. It can be concluded, from observing such events that happened in the past, instability in economic and political development can be a major trigger in the emergence of local conflicts and terrorism.
