Abstract

The purpose of this research was produce teaching materials that be empowered critical thinking skills of senior high school students with inquiry-based learning on content of rate reaction. This research was conducted in two phases, namely the phases of development of teaching materials following Kemp design instructional and the implementation phase of learning in the classroom by using one-group pretest posttest design. The results of this research showed that teaching materials include RPP, Worksheet, Student Book and Learning Outcame Test (Cognitive Product and Processes, Affective, Psychomotor and Critical Thinking Test) is feasible and can be used. The results of the implementation of the teaching materials showed that (1) the level of readability of the Worksheet and Student Book have a high criterion, which means that most students are able to absorb the massage contained in them, (2) feseability of RPP have a high criterion, (3) majority of students are doing activities with associated the learning process, (4) Students respond are positive toward the learning process,(5) Mean of the mastery of critical thinking skills test in the content (domain specific test) is 81%, (6) Critical thinking test of the beyond of the content (general specific test) is 75% competend category and 25% less competend category from the all indicator, and (7)The correlation between critical tinking skills on the content (domain specific) is sufficient positive (r=0.620) with critical tinking skill beyondthe content (general domain).

Abstract

Background: Malaria is the most important parasitic infections in the world, including in Indonesia. Kabupaten North Kayong is one of malaria endemic areas in West Kalimantan. Tanjung Satai village is one of the village that has the highest Annual Parasite Incidence (API) with number 15,89 per 1 000 at Kabupaten North Kayong. The incidence of malaria is influenced by the level of knowledge, individual behavior, the physical condition of the house and the house environment Objectives: To find out the comparison between the level of knowledge, individual behavior, the physical condition of the house and the house environment with the incidence of malaria in Tanjung Satai village and Kemboja village, Kabupaten North Kayong. Methods: This research was case control design. Cases were residents who had positive malaria in 2011 and controls were residents who have never had malaria. Bivariate analysis used Chi-Square test. Results: The number of samples in this research were 110 respondents (55 of case respondents and 55 of control respondents). The independent variables that influenced the incidence of malaria are the level of knowledge (p=0,007; OR=2,88), using the mosquito net (p=0,039; OR=3,09), the existence of bushes (p=0,001; OR=0,27) and the existence of stagnant water (p=0,016; OR=0,37). The independent variables that did not influence the incidence of malaria are using mosquito repellent, installing wire net, and the density of house wall. Conclusion: The lower level of knowledge, not using the mosquito net, the existence of bushes and the existence of stagnant water have risk 2,88; 3,09; 0,27; 0,37 times to get malaria.

Abstract

Background: These last few years, bottled oxygenated water can be found in the market. The ads are also put forward the advantages of these products continue to flood the public in various media. Consumers believe that by consuming these oxygenated water, it will increase the capacity of oxygen in the blood and strengthen the immune system. Objective: This study aimed to determine differences in the effect of oxygenated water compared to ordinary drinking water in the value of FEV1, FVC, VO2Max and respiratory rate in men aged 18-21 years after physical exercise. Methods: This study was a quasi experimental study with cross-over method of pre and post test. Data were collected from 36 subjects using a brief questionnaire and a test with the Queen’s College Step Test. Data were analyzed with T test. Results: There was no difference in the effect of oxygenated water than ordinary drinking water in the value of FEV1 (p = 0.631), FVC (p = 0,765), respiratory rate (p = 0.594) and VO2max (p = 0.723). Conclusions: There was no significant difference between oxygenated water and ordinary drinking water in the changes of FEV1 (p=0.631), FVC (p=0.765), respiratory rate (p=0.594) and VO2Max (p=0.723) after physical exercise in men aged 18-21 years with a mean value in each group were: oxygenated water group’s FEV1 = 3.313 L/minute; FVC = 3.624 L/minute; Respiratory Rate = 30.08 L/minute and VO2Max = 61.803 mL/minute/kgBW, ordonary drinking water’s group FEV1 = 3.256 L/minute; FVC = 3.656 L/minute; Respiratory Rate = 29.22 L/minute and VO2Max = 63.053 mL/minute/kgBW.

Abstract

Research drying processed snack food seasoned with bamboo shoot base has been done with the aim of studying the seasoned dried bamboo shoot processing as a functional food source of fiber. The study involved treatment of soaking in a solution of salt and seasoning giving the dried bamboo shoots. The results of the research provided that the drying treatment using a drying oven gave shape to the drying temperature 40 to 60 ° C, humidity 60%. The results of the research provided that the drying treatment using a drying oven gave shape to the drying temperature 40 to 60 ° C, 60% humidity and drying time of 7 hours with the characteristics of dried bamboo shoots water content of 12.2%, 10.9%, and flower power rendemen 11, 9%. Nutrition content spiced dried bamboo shoots are not much different between the formulations in which the crude fiber content between 2.84 to 4.60%, from 11.1 to 15.2% water, 10.5 to 13.02 ash, protein 20.5 to 23 , 4%, water activity from 0.568 to 0.789 and 4.95 to 5.40% fat. This spiced dried bamboo shoots can qualify functional food because it contains nutritional components and coarse fibers that have a specific physiological function, hold harmless and beneficial to health. Panelist organoleptic value and acceptance is highest in dried bamboo shoots seasoned formulation instant seasoning barbeque flavor panelists favored by a score of 3.8

Abstract

Microbial Fuel Cell is the one of renewable technology which can produseed electric energy from waste and other organic matter. MFC reactor have two part wich called anode and cattode chamber that bonded with cattion exchange membrane. Electric energy in MFC was produced by biochemistry reaction in organic matter like palm industrial waste. One of organic matter that pontential in Indonesia is palm industry waste. The aim in this research is to know the potential electric energy in MFC reactor with palm industry waste. The conclusion in this research is MFC with palm industry waste can produced electric energy higher than MFC with 0,5 M glucose solution.

Abstract

Nurse woman with married status that should work with the shift mechanism, will receive an additional burden in the form of physical and mental fatigue due to the disruption caused by the need for sleep. Women also have a tendency prone to fatigue. When working in a state of fatigue, workers will tend to make mistakes and the risk of accidents. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between shift work and sleep disorder, shift work and fatigue. And than to determine the correlation between sleep disorders and fatigue. This study uses an analytical observational study with cross sectional design. Location of the study in class III inpatient wards Hospital Dr. Soedarso Pontianak. The subjects of the study of female nurses with married status, taken by purposive sampling. Test used is the Pearson correlation and One Way Anova. The results showed that (1) there is a relationship between shift work and sleep disorder female nurses; (2) there is a difference between the levels of sleep disturbance morning shift, day shift / evening and night shift; (3) there is a relationship between shift work and fatigue in nurses working women; (4) there is a difference between the level of job burnout morning shift, day shift / evening and night shift; (5) there is a very strong relationship between sleep disorder and fatigue female nurses. It is recommended to the hospital management to rethink the distribution of working time (duration of work) on each shift to be more proportionate to the terms and continue to improve the power of K3 in the hospital environment

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition in which the arteries have persistently elevated blood pressure. If the pressure is greater than 140/90, you will be considered to have hypertension. Unfortunately, less people are well informed to this disease. It is one of the of infectious diseases to watch out for. Hypertension is the third leading cause of death in Indonesia (6.8%), after a stroke (15.4%) and tuberculosis (7.5%). Data from Wajok Hulu Health Center (Puskesmas) showed that the cases of hypertension among older women occurred consecutively from the year 2009-2011 (37.05%, 27.53%, and 19.52%). This study is aimed at figuring out the correlation of knowledge, physical activity, eating patterns, stress, and the incidence of hypertension among elderly women (a case study at work area of Puskesmas Wajok Hulu Kabupaten Pontianak). An analytical survey and case control approach were carried out in this study. As many as 279 elderly women were employed as the population. The number of the control group was the entire of the elderly women with hypertension (54) which were recorded in register book of Puskesmas Wajok Hulu. The research samples used a 1:1 ratio of cases and controls so that the total sample were 108 respondents. Then, the data was statistically tested by utilizing a chi square test. The study revealed that there were correlation of knowledge (p value=0,004), physical activity (p value=0,003), eating patterns (p value=0,005), stress (0,000), and the incidence of hypertension among elderly women. From the finding, Health Department of Kabupaten Pontianak and Puskesmas (Heath Center) Wajok Hulu are encouraged to improve provide more information communication, and education about hypertension to the people, particularly elderly women. This program can be carried out through the available media, so that the people will be well informed and be aware of the dangerous of hypertension.
