Abstract

The main problem in Kedai Gunung Balau Bandar Lampung is about waste management that is less than optimal, because the waste produced is just piled up and burned immediately. To anticipate waste problems that will cause pollution to the environment, it is necessary to make waste management efforts. Therefore, to plan a waste management system in the Kedai Gunung Balau Bandar Lampung Tourism Area, it is necessary to study the waste generation and composition at that location. The method used is waste sampling carried out for 8 consecutive days which refers to SNI 19-3964-1994. The results obtained are the average weight of waste generation per day of 25.620 kg / day and the average volume of waste generation per day of 0.945 m3 / day. The composition of waste generated consists of 11 types of waste in the form of organic and inorganic waste. The largest waste composition is food waste with a percentage of 19.528%.

Abstract

Gunadarma University is one of the leading private universities in Indonesia. In order to support the existing teaching and learning process, a comfortable and safe classroom is needed so that the learning and teaching process runs efficiently and effectively. Classrooms are one of the infrastructures that determine the success of the teaching and learning process. One of the Gunadarma University buildings used in the teaching and learning process is the D6 campus located on the margonda raya road which consists of 6 floors, this research is focused on measuring one of the classrooms, namely D655 on the 5th floor. D6 campus is one of the oldest campuses and has just finished renovating its classrooms, so it is the object of this research. The purpose of this study is to measure the physical environment of the classroom related to temperature and humidity, lighting levels and classroom noise used for the teaching and learning process. Measurements of the physical environment of the classroom measured include room temperature and humidity, lighting and noise levels. This measurement aims to determine the condition of the physical environment of the classrooms in the D6 campus. Based on the measurements taken, the average class temperature was 24.4% with 32% humidity, the average measurement of the lighting level was 250.2 Lux, and the average measurement of the class noise level was 53.4 dBA

Abstract

The fried meatball chips industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by consumer demand for convenient and tasty snack options. Packaging for these products often lacks innovation, leading to issues such as poor product protection, limited shelf life, and lack of brand differentiation. This study aims to develop an improved packaging solution for fried meatball chips that addresses these challenges while taking into account sustainability and consumer preferences. The study used a mixed methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques. Initially, a comprehensive market analysis was conducted to understand consumer behavior, packaging trends, and industry best practices. The final packaging solution was tested for its effectiveness in terms of product protection, shelf life extension, and consumer appeal through various laboratory and field tests. In addition, a life cycle assessment (LCA) was conducted to evaluate the environmental impact of the proposed packaging solution and identify opportunities for further improvement. The findings of this study contribute to the existing body of knowledge in the field of packaging design and development, specifically for the fried meatball chips industry. The proposed packaging solution offers improved product protection, shelf life extension, increased brand recognition, and improved sustainability, ultimately benefiting both producers and consumers.

Abstract

The open mining method has the potential for the formation of mine water. Mine water is characterized by a high degree of acidity which affects the life of organisms and the quality of the environment indirectly or directly, therefore it needs to be managed. This study examines mine water management at PT Adaro Indonesia. The methods used in the research were field studies and laboratory experiments. Grab sampling is used to take water samples, with the test parameters being pH, Fe and Mn metals and total suspended solid (TSS). Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and descriptively. The mine water management used is in the form of a settling pond. The settling pond consists of several compartments, namely sedimentation pond, safety pond, treatment pond and mud pond. The quality of mine water management through a series of settling ponds obtained changes in pH to 6.07, Fe metal 0.0465 mg/l, Mn metal 1.3513, and TSS 35 mg/l with an efficiency of more than 50%. The quality of mine water produced after going through management has met the established regulations, namely Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 1347/MENLHK/SETJEN/PLA.4/12/2022.
