Community Services is an implementation activity of science, technology and cultural arts directly to the community institutionally through scientific methodology as a translation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education,as well as the responsibility of scientists in efforts to develop community capacity, so as to accelerate the pace of growth in achieving development goals. So that community services can be done affectively and efficiently, it is necessary to conduct research before and after its implementation. The Scope of Community Service includes the following fields of activity: The development of technological science and art into products that can be directly utilized by the community. Training services, economic empowerment of communities to become independent, and the development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Dissemination of science, technology and cultural arts is a product that needs to be known and utilized by the community. This effort can be done through various ways such as providing counseling, providing pilots, demonstrating, and publishing media publications. Placement of science and technology correctly and appropriately according to the situation of the people and the demands of development. Providing assistance to the community in identifying problems faced and finding alternative solutions by using a scientific approach. Providing professional services to the community in various problem areas that require careful handling by using expertise and skills that are not yet owned by the community concerned.

Abstract

Compost is a fertilizer that is produced from the decomposition of organic matter by active microorganisms. Jatimukti Village, Jatinangor Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency is a village that produces a lot of waste. Based on observations, the village looks suitable and has the potential to be introduced to the type of compost as organic material in farmers’ gardens. This service aims to foster and direct the people of Jatimukti Village community to have the skills to make compost from organic waste. Community service is carried out through socialization and training on composting. The demonstration of composting is done by using the composting facility that has been prepared. This dedication involves lecturers and students of the Department of Mathematics, Universitas Padjadjaran, as well as the people of Jatimukti Village. The results achieved were made of composters and compost made together, and the ways of making compost by utilizing waste in the community. After being given good and proper waste management training, the community can overcome the surrounding waste problems, and it is hoped that the community can evaluate the management that has been carried out before.

Abstract

Investors in investing are always accompanied by a sense of tolerance for the risk of funds invested in an asset. Each investor has a different form of risk tolerance, depending on the function of the utility. This paper aims to conduct a theoretical study of the forms of investor risk tolerance for several utility functions. This study is carried out by reviewing several utility functions which include: square root utility, cubic fraction utility, quadratic utility, exponential negative utility, and logarithmic utility. Based on the results of the study for each of these utility functions, successively obtained risk tolerance in the form of linear, linear, linear, constant, and linear. Linear risk tolerance illustrates that an investor changes the value of his investment in line with changes in the level of risk faced.

Abstract

In the oil production distribution network, there are three main nodes, namely the supply node, the transshipment node, and the demand node. The pattern of distribution of oil production from the supply node to the demand node is very diverse and can affect the costs to be incurred. Therefore, a company must be able to determine the right distribution pattern, so that the costs incurred are optimal. This paper intends to conduct a study of how to determine and calculate the distribution patterns and the minimum total costs incurred, using the primal-dual linear program method. Based on the results of the case analysis, it is known that the number of supply commodities will be the same as the number of demand commodities, but the distribution from each source does not necessarily have the same capacity and costs. Therefore, the distribution pattern is determined based on the existing cost and capacity, so that cost optimization can be achieved.

Abstract

Flooding is a natural event, one of which is caused by the overflow of rivers. This disaster often occurs in the Dayeuhkolot area, Bandung Regency. Geographical conditions that are close to the flow of the Citarum River and the plains that are lower than the surrounding area cause this area to be flooded especially during the rainy season. This paper aims to analyze the effectiveness of disaster training given at a young age and analyze the effectiveness of training methods provided in the form of games and PowerPoint media. This activity is aimed at grade 6th students at BojongAsih Elementary School starting with the questionnaire I which functions as a pre-test and ends with questionnaire II which functions as a post-test. Questionnaires were given at the beginning and at the end to see the extent to which the material provided new influence and knowledge to BojongAsih Elementary School students. The results of the questionnaire showed that before counseling about flood mitigation, samples were categorized as having a good knowledge of 91% and having poor knowledge of 9%. After counseling about flood disaster mitigation using games and PowerPoint media there was an increase in knowledge, samples that had good knowledge were 98% and those with less good knowledge were 2%. Based on the pre-test and post-test results, this activity was proven successful in increasing the knowledge of BojongAsihElementary School related to flood mitigation.

Abstract

In the face of investment risk, investors generally diversify and form an investment portfolio consisting of several assets. The problem is the fiery proportion of funds that must be allocated to each asset in the formation of investment portfolios. This paper aims to study the optimization of the Markowitz investment portfolio. In this study, the Markowitz model discussed is that which considers risk tolerance. Optimization is done by using the Lagrangean Multiplier method. From the study, an equation is obtained to determine the proportion (weight) of fund allocation for each asset in the formation of investment portfolios. So by using these equations, the determination of investment portfolio weights can be determined by capital.
