Abstract

Pesantren Tegalsari Ponorogo that was born in the early 18th century is considered to have an important role in the history of Islam in Nusantara. This Pesantren is even believed as the first boarding institution and was born in 1742. This article examines historically the forerunner and the early development of Pesantren Tegalsari. Then, the role of students and descendants of kiai. By using the method of historical research and data mining to written documents, interviews, and observations, it is concluded that Pesantren Tegalsari has a close relationship with the elite in the past such as the Wali Songo and the King of Majapahit. In addition, through the students and descendants of kiai, these schools also have a major role in society, both in the propagation of Islam as well as in politics.

Abstract

Islam Nusantara merupakan perwujudan Islam melalui budaya lokal. Ulasan Gus Dur tentang sejarah di Nusantara dilakukan melalui dua pendekatan, deskripsi dan preskripsi. Pendekatan deskripsi, Gus Dur hanya menggambarkan Islam di Nusantara secara objektif. Sedangkan pendekatan preskripsi, Gus Dur membaca Islam di Nusantara dengan menggunakan perspeksi tertentu dalam melihat Islam di Nusantara. Dari pendekatan presrikptif ini, lahirlah terma Islam Nusantara.Islam Nusantara mendasarkan diri pada pembahasan agama, tradisi, dan budaya, yakni budaya Islam di Nusantara. Teori Gus Dur yang mengemukakan tentang pergualatan agama dan budaya adalah pribumisasi Islam. Sebab itu, penelitian ini mengkaji tentang epistemologi Islam Nusantara melalui penerapan pribumisasi Islam. Pendekatan yang digunakan untuk mengkaji pembumian Islam di Nusantara menurut Gus Dur yaitu pendekatan Indigenisasi. Melalui teori pribumisasi Islam dan pendekatan indigenisasi, penelitian ini menemukan unsur yang turut membentuk corak khas Islam Nusantara. Gus Dur lewat teks-teksnya mengungkapkan pola-pola gelombang Islamisasi Nusantara yaitu dengan pendekatan sufistik, syariatisasi tasawuf, dan fikih sufistik. Gus Dur juga melakukan perluasan corak Islam Nusantara menjadi apa yang ia sebut sebagai perwujudan kultural Islam. Perwujudan ini disebut kultural, sebab ia berbentuk budaya hasil akulturasi antara Islam dan budaya Nusantara. Pesantren ini juga memiliki peran yang besar di masyarakat, baik di wilayah dakwah Islam maupun dalam politik.

Abstract

Islam Nusantara is the one of many various Islamic paradigm in this world. This islamic expression tends on values and cultural structures of tradition that existed in Nusantara. One of the best way to study that case depicts in Tabot of City of Bengkulu. This cultural product is the result of the struggle of Islam and local culture. This celebration was held to remember the death of Sayyidina Husein, grandson of Muhammad SAW who died in Karbala. Shia sect is the one of the islamic sect that flourished in Indonesia. In it’s development, Shia element also adds many Islamic ritual in Nusantara. Nusantara’s Shia is not the same as the one in the middle east. In this archipelago, Shia melt in the general islamic view that called Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah. That phenomena can be seen in tabot celebration, where people are in it doet not have the Shia

Abstract

The article talks about a relationship system between keraton and pesantren in Cirebon in the framework of the history of the 18th M century. It Refers to discussion tendency about pesantren and its authority. Both two institutions are interpreted in a separate manner. Whereas there is evidence that this relationship between pesantren and keraton as an institution power in Java has a close connection. This study is based on an argument that keraton and pesantren have a close relationship with a side lineage or in building Cirebon Islamic character. Except use a historical approach, this research also uses a multidimensional approach through many knowledge discipline approaches, such as Anthropology, Sociology, and Cultures. This article is not only revealing the historical element of keraton relationship but also discusses Islamic nationality movement by a mufti figure, Mbah Muqayyim. An against religion movement’s figure to colonialist which basically, is spirit protection the religion and nationality. The result can be concluded that keraton and pesantren relationship system in Cirebon is made through kinship, scientific transmission and tradition preservation concept Where Mbah Muqayyimas an important figure who contributes to saving the keraton’s religious tradition which is threatened by colonialist dominance in surroundings Keraton Kanoman

Abstract

Peneliti ingin menelisik serta membedah lebih jauh identitas Islam nusantara dalam konteks pemahaman masyarakat awam. Sebab diakui atau tidak, masyarakat luas, terutama awam, masih silang sengkarut bahkan banyak yang tidak “mengenal” istilah Nusantara. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti mengambil tajuk “Proyek Identitas Islam Nusantar: Suatu Pendekatan Semantics Habits”. Penelitian ini bermasuk mengupas sebuah pertanyaan besar bagaimana sesungguhnya identitas Islam Nusantara masyarakat Indonesia. Secara ringkas penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menjawab pertanyaan: Pertama, Apa konsep Islam Nusantara menurut masyarakat awam?. Kedua, Seberapa jauh pemahaman masyarakat awam terhadap terma Islam Nusantara? Dan ketiga, Bagaimana identitas Islam Nusantara menurut masyarakat awam? Penelitian ini menggunkana pendekatan kulitatif dengan menggunakan perilaku semantic sebagai salah satu pisau analisis. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsep Islam Nusantara menurut awam adalah ritus-ritus agama Islam yang sudah mentradisi. Adapun pemahaman awam terhadap konsep Islam Nusantara sangat beragam. Islam Nusantara merupakan corak Islam yang luwes dan akomodatif terhadap budaya lokal. Identitas Islam Nusatara secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan adalah bangunan tradisi keagamaan yang berbasis komunalitas. Pada ritus-ritus ibadah yang berbasis jamaah dan mengedepankan komunalitas serta kebersamaan itulah identitas Islam Nusantara ada.
