Abstract

Diffuse attenuation coefficient from downwelling irradiance measurement is one of the important oceanography parameter that provide information on light availability and the light penetration through waters column that represent the waters clarity, photosynthesis and other biological processes. Information about diffuse attenuation coefficient play an important role on the development of bio-optical algorithm on Ocean Color satellite data. The aim of this research is to know the variability of diffuse attenuation coefficient in the shallow water of Karang Lebar, Air and Panggang island using irradiance sensor from hyperspectral radiometer TriOS-RAMSES covering a wavelength range from 320 to 950 nm with 3.3 nm spectral resolution. In situ measurments performed by pull down the irradiance sensor on each depth vertically in waters column up to just before the sea floor. Overall, the measurement result showed that values of Kd(λ) had patterns tends to be decreased on blue-green region wavelength (380-480 nm) and increased again on green-red region (560-760 nm). We found that values of Kd(λ) inside of gobah area had greater values than the outside gobah, significantly the difference significantly occured on all regions that Kd(λ) values measured (F = 5.581 > F critical = 5.554), where each regions has different characteristics to each others. Kd(λ) values dominantly affected by absorbtion of chlorophyll-a with determination cofficient R2 = 0.808 compared with backscattering by suspended solid with determination coefficient R2 = 0.043. Kd(λ) values on visible wavelength regions (400-700 nm) can describe information about how far light can be detected by Ocean Color satellite from water column represented by one optical depth. Relationship of Kd(λ) values with one optical depth can be describe as exponential equation Kd(400-700 nm) = 0.6747*exp(-0.231*1ζ) with the determination coefficient R2 = 0.97.

Abstract

Kurangnya informasi dan perhatian terhadap kawasan mangrove di Teluk Valentine menjadikan penelitian ini penting dilakukan. Seri Landsat 7 ETM + tahun 2003, dan 2015 digunakan sebagai data perekaman untuk memetakan mangrove dan melihat perubahan di wilayah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan perubahan ekosistem mangrove antara tahun 2003 dan 2015, dengan menggunakan citra Landsat berdasarkan metode OBIA dan membandingkan keakuratan metode OBIA dan piksel. Metode analis basis objek atau sering disebut klasifikasi berbasis objek digunakan untuk menganalisis sejauh mana perubahan tutupan mangrove. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan klasifikasi berbasis objek, tutupan hutan bakau sangat baik terdeteksi dengan akurasi 85-88%. Penerapan analisis ini relatif stabil pada periode pengamatan, kawasan ini telah mengalami perubahan dari tahun 2003 ke 2015 sebesar 1.2%, namun perubahan tersebut dimaksudkan penambahan mangrove alami. Perhatian pemerintah daerah diperlukan untuk melestarikan kawasan sebagai kawasan konservasi atau laboratorium alam mengingat kawasannya masih sangat bagus dan tidak dieksploitasi secara berlebihan oleh masyarakat sekitar kawasan Teluk Valentine.

Abstract

Mapping of coral reefs geomorphic in Tunda Island has not been done before using an object-based image classification. This mapping can be used as the basic of information to planning and area development towards the optimum utilization such as marine ecotourism area. This study aims to mapping coral reef geomorphic zone of Tunda Island using object base classification. Data analysis using multispectral image Worldview-2 with data acquisition of August 25, 2013 and bathymetric profiles. The classification using of multiresolution segmentation. The classification is divided into two levels of classification. Level 1 segmentation using parameter of scale 200, shape 0.6 and compactness 0.4. Level 2 Segmentation using parameter of scale 30, shape 0.6 and compactness 0.4. The classification object segmentation able to produce a map with high accuracy at every level. The classification accuracy of Level 1 is 97% and level 2 is 91%.

Abstract

Exploiting the potential of catching fish in the waters of the island of Lemukutan by using the base to catch fish trap and still are traditional. Technical aspects in this research is to modify the base where trap construction entrance on change into six and eight and the bamboo wood frame in Polyethylene nets agency change (PE) pipe frame of cast concrete picture with. The purpose of this research is Get method model, analyze the effectiveness of basic trap modification construction basic financial analysis and trap. Analysis of the composition of catches against the third type of trap get results of 84.88 kg or of 690 tail at a depth of 9 m and 95.53 kg or 800 tail at a depth of 12 m. The frequency of occurrence of the yellow tail fish (Caesio erythrogaster) had the largest proportion at a depth of 9 m long and 12 m is 86.8 % and 99.5 %. Analysis of the index of Diversity (H ‘) to the waters of the Lemukutan Island of 1.6 by category index of diversity (H ‘ ≤ 2). The results of the analysis of R/C Ratio indicates that modifications to the construction of beam model trap obtaining R/C = 1.035 where economically feasible and viable use developed as a basic fishing effort in the waters of the island of Lemukutan.

Abstract

Penelitian modifikasi konstruksi trammel net dilakukan dengan melakukan uji coba penangkapan di perairan Lontar, Serang. Tiga konstruksi trammel net yang diujicoba, yaitu trammel net kontrol (TK), trammel net perlakuan 1 (TP1) dan trammel net perlakuan (TP2). TK adalah trammel net yang memiliki 2 lembar jaring lapis luar dan kekendurannya menumpuk di bagian bawah. Selanjutnya TP1 adalah trammel net yang memiliki 1 lembar jaring lapis luar dan membentuk 1 kantong di bagian bawah, sedangkan TP2 memiliki 1 lembar jaring lapis luar dan membentuk 2 kantong. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan ketiga konstruksi trammel net menghasilkan 10 jenis organisme yang sama, yaitu Penaeus merguiensis, Harpiosquilla raphidea, Portunus pelagicus, Argyrosomus amoyensis, Pseudorhombus arsius, Platycephalus indicus, Pomadasys maculatus, Himantura uarnak, Leiognathus equulus, Thryssa hamiltonii. TP2 menangkap 1.165 individu, atau lebih banyak 1.29 kali dibandingkan dengan TP1 (897 individu) dan 2.36 kali dibandingkan dengan TK (493 individu). Hasil uji statistik menggunakan ANOVA dan uji BNT juga menunjukkan bahwa modifikasi konstruksi trammel net terbukti dapat meningkatkan jumlah hasil tangkapan (F39.99: α0.05).

Abstract

The portable Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) is an auxiliary fishing gear that can be operated on a multiple-time basis, as a fish-collecting device with an attractor. The purposes of the study are to determine the catch composition, length and weight frequency of the catch around portable FADs, determine the catch productivity of handlinearound FADs at the day and night time. The catch composition were consist of: kawakawa (Euthynnus affinis), short mackerel (Rastrelliger branchysoma), swordfish (Xiphias gladius), great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), and redbelly yellowtail fusilier (Caesio cuning). Total catch by handline was 160 individual. The length and weight relationship for dominant fish species was b<3 for Euthynnus affinis and Rastrelliger branchysoma (allometric negative) while b>3 for Xiphias gladius (allometric positive). The Mann Whitney U test shows that there was not significant different catch between day and night time operating hours.

Abstract

Fisheries acoustics has two main division namely active and passive acoustics. Various acoustic studies with active methods have been conducted to assess the relationship between acoustics with fish density, but combination both mactive and passive methods has never been done to the same fish aggregation. Combining these two methods is expected to deliver an information related to fish density and its trend with both active and passive methods. This study was conducted on tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in controlled condition of 50, 100, and 150 fish individuals with total length range of 10-13 cm. Active and passive acoustic data acquisition carried out for 15 minutes on floating net cage of 2 m × 2 m × 1.8 m in dimension using CruzPro PcFF-80 echosounder 200 kHz (active acoustics) and Dolphin EAR 100 hydrophones (passive acoustics). Active acoustic data is processed using Matlab R2013b to generate value of scattering volume (SV), while passive acoustic data is processed using Wavelab program to obtain the intensity of fish sound in frequency domain, then both are correlated to fish density. The results of SV measurements in fish amounted to 50, 100 and 150 individuals respectively were -45.898 dB, -45,887 dB and -45,888 dB, with the coefficient of determination (R2) reached 0.6583. There is an average decrease in SV in fish totaling 150 individuals suspected to occur due to shadowing effects, also due to small fish used. The highest and lowest intensity of fish sound of 50 fishes in frequency range 0-22 kHz were -28.306 dB and -64.582 dB, 100 fishes were -26.0793 dB and -64.5296 dB, 150 fishes were -28.5246 dB and -64.5679 dB.

Abstract

The movements and abundance of tuna are strongly influenced by the temperature and water depth. Bungus-based fishermen catch bigeye tuna (BET, Thunnus obesus) and yellowfin tuna (YFT, Thunnus albacares) using handlines operated on light-equipped fishing boats. Purpose of the research : (1) to measure the sea surface temperature (SST) and swimming layer bigeye tuna (BET) and yellowfin tuna (YFT) around Mentawai Island, (2) to identification the effect of light on the vertical distribution, and (3) to determine length of hookline the best catch tuna. Based on the length of the line and configuration of line, weight, hooks and live-squid baits, their hooks were at 45, 53, 60, and 68 meters below sea surface. A total of 8 YFT were caught at 45, 53 and 60 m depths; their total weight was 354 kg. One BET of 45 kg was caught at 60 m depth. This study confirmes that these large-sized tunas were caught at a swimming layer of 15-60 m depth. The sea surface temperature (SST) in the fishing ground around Mentawai Island was 28.9 oC in average where fishermen successfuly caught a total of 15 tunas consisting of 3 BETs and 12 YFT. Adult tuna were caught mostly at 23-60 m depth while the juveniles were caught at 15-45 m. This research indicated an effect of light on increasing the position of adult tuna swimming layer. Handline with line of 53 m is the best gear for catching adult tuna in the area.

Abstract

This study used high-resolution satellite imagery of worldview-2 acquisition 5 October 2013. The purpose of this study was to explore the capability of high-resolution satellite imagery of worldview-2 to map the geomorphic zones of shallow water in Kotok Besar island. The method used is object-based image analysis. This method is able to define classes of objects based on spectral and spatial aspects. Image segmentation algorithm using multiresolution segmentation with different scala parameters for each level, level 1, level 2 and level 3. Shape and compactness are also customized for each level. Assign class at level 1 generates three classes, namely land, shallow water and deep water. Assign class at level 2 for geomorphic zone generates three class classes of reef flat, reef crest and reef slope. benthic habitat classification at level 3 produces 7 classes with an overall accuracy was 66.40%.

Abstract

Fokus perhatian pada penelitian ini adalah aktivitas perikanan bagan di atas kapal angkutnya. Aktivitas pada kapal angkut inilah yang paling banyak memiliki potensi risiko berbahaya. Kecilnya area pada kapal angkut, dengan jumlah penumpang yang banyak dan ditambah dengan berat jumlah barang yang diangkut tersebut dapat menyebabkan peluang kecelakaan yang tinggi. Kondisi tersebut juga diperparah dengan situasi di atas kapal angkut yang tidak terdapat seorang penumpang pun yang menggunakan alat keselamatan dan APD (Alat Perlindungan Diri), dan juga tidak tersedianya alatalat tersebut di dalam kapal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi risiko kerja pada kegiatan perikanan bagan apung, dan mengidentifikasi pengetahuan nelayan bagan apung terhadap keselamatan kerja.. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode studi kasus pada potensi kecelakaan kerja di kapal angkut dan bagan apung di Palabuhanratu. Data primer didapatkan dari hasil pengamatan langsung dan wawancara terhadap beberapa pihak terkait dengan keselamatan kerja nelayan. Data sekunder diperoleh dari berbagai sumber seperti literatur, dokumen serta arsip yang ada pada instansi terkait. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan analisis keselamatan kerja (Job Safety Analysis/JSA). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, (1) berdasarkan JSA diperoleh bahwa risiko yang timbul terbagi dalam 3 kategori yakni kategori tidak parah (88%), parah (12%) dan sangat parah (0%); (2) nelayan bagan memiliki pengetahuan yang dikategorikan cukup baik mengenai keselamatan kerja dan prosedur kerja di kapal.
