Abstract

The results of the 2018 Riskesdas showed that the exclusive breastfeeding rate for infants aged 0-6 months only reached 37.3%. The cause of not achieving exclusive breastfeeding is a need for more knowledge and understanding of lactation management, which affects maternal behaviour in exclusive breastfeeding. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes toward exclusive breastfeeding behaviour in working mothers in the Tilango Health Center working area. This type of research is a correlation study using a cross-sectional approach; the sample size used was 52 people, with a saturated sampling technique and data analysis using Spearman rank. Based on the results of the study, it was found that most respondents had sufficient knowledge with sufficient behaviour categories; the statistical test results were shown by the significance value (p = 0.000 <0.05) and the contingency coefficient (0.656). Some respondents with sufficient attitude have sufficient behaviour in exclusive breastfeeding; the statistical test results are shown with a significance value (p = 0.001 <0.05) and contingency coefficient (0.458). The study concludes a relationship between knowledge and attitudes with exclusive breastfeeding behaviour in working mothers in the Tilango Puskesmas work area. Health workers should improve special programs for exclusive breastfeeding counselling to increase exclusive breastfeeding coverage.

The type of research used is experimental research with the experimental method used, namely Quasi Experimental, with a "Two group Pretest Posttest" design, with independent T-Test statistical tests. The population in this study were all pregnant women at the Al-Ikhlas clinic. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, the sample size was 30 people. Based on the results of the T-Independent Test, the effectiveness of health education about personal hygiene using video media and leaflets on the knowledge of pregnant women shows that the p value is 0.007, so it shows that the results of Ho are rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is a difference in health education about personal hygiene using video media and leaflet on knowledge of pregnant women

The research method uses the Pre-Experiment Design method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The analysis technique uses the Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Test, the sampling technique uses Total Sampling, namely 29 young women. The research results showed that the calculated Z value was -3.260 and the significance value was 0.001 (p<0.05), so Ha was accepted, meaning that there was a significant influence between before and after the counseling was given.

Abstract

The lack of exclusive breastfeeding is generally due to insufficient milk production, leading to the cessation of exclusive breastfeeding practices. The main factor in the failure of exclusive breastfeeding is lactation mismanagement during the breastfeeding period. Adequate knowledge can increase working mothers' self-efficacy and help working mothers continue to breastfeed during the transition back to the workforce. This study aimed to see the relationship between knowledge about lactation management in working mothers with exclusive breastfeeding in the Working Area of Sidomulyo Health Center, Bengkulu City. The sample size was 58 respondents, who were given questionnaires using the Gutman scale. The results of statistical tests using chi-square with a p-value of 0.019 < < 0.05 and an Odds Ratio of 3,800 show there is a significant relationship between knowledge of lactation management in working mothers with exclusive breastfeeding. Working mothers are expected to increase their knowledge by attending breastfeeding classes or utilizing social media about lactation management to provide breast milk still while working.
