Abstract

This study examines the factors that influence the feasibility of household sanitation in Purworejo Regency, Central Java. The research utilizes survey data from Indonesia's National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) that includes 785 households in Purworejo Regency from March 2022. The results reveal that 23.3% of households in the region do not have suitable sanitation facilities. The findings show that location, particularly in rural areas, income level, and the level of education attained by the household head significantly impact the availability of appropriate sanitation. Households located in rural zones and those with lower incomes or heads of household with lower education levels are at greater risk of lacking suitable sanitation. The conclusions suggest that improvements to income and education, as well as infrastructure development in rural settings, can help boost access to appropriate sanitation.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the consumption of luxury fashion brands. Consuming and purchasing luxury fashion brands can evoke a sense of pride, exclusivity, and prestige for those who wear them (Chada & Husband 2006). Hermès is a French luxury goods manufacturer since 1837. When viewed in terms of exclusivity, the brand is consistently ranked as the most valuable luxury brand in the world in various assessments and ranking studies published by leading consultants (Leonard, 2021). On September 15 – 17, 2023, Hermès held an event called HermèsFit, which was held at City Hall Pondok Indah Mall 3. This event was created to introduce its new collection to visitors. On the one hand, Hermès also gave visitors experience in using products from their brands. This research aims to measure the level of effectiveness of experiential marketing carried out by the Hermès brand in creating the HermèsFit 2023 event at PIM 3. The theory used in this research is the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) using quantitative method. The research utilized a purposive sampling method with a sample size of 96 respondents whose criteria were JABODETABEK residents who attended the HermèsFit Indonesia 2023 event. This research has an influence between X variable (Experiential Marketing) on Y variable (Purchase Intention) with a regression equation of Y = 1.313 + 0.507 have an influence on Purchase Intention.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the two main variants of exponential smoothing methods in the context of business forecasting: Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) and Double Exponential Smoothing (DES). In this study, we applied these three methods to the data on Monthly Passenger Car Registrations in Canada from 2019 to 2022. The performance of each method was evaluated using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) as the primary metric. The analysis results showed that Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) produced the best performance with the lowest RMSE of 13.07859 for an alpha of 0.6, compared to DES, which yielded higher RMSE values. These findings indicate that although DES have the capability to handle trends and seasonality, in some cases, especially when the data has single fluctuations without significant seasonal patterns or trends, SES can provide more accurate forecasting results. This study provides valuable insights for practitioners in selecting the most appropriate forecasting method based on the characteristics of the data at hand.
