Abstract

Experiment of free fall motion is one of phenomena in physic. Parameters of free fall motion still measured by stopwatch and meter. The purpose of research is development of free fall motion experiment set based on microcontroller with personal computer display. This instrument have highest precision and accuration. Average of measured result is 9,821 ± 0,025 with average of precicion relatif is 98,3% and average accuration is 0,992

Abstract

In the integrated optical system (Integrated Optics), the raised-strip waveguide is part of the photonic divices used as a medium of light propagation. Physical parameters of raised-strip waveguide mode waveguides affects that can be passed on the waveguides. Given the relative complexity of the calculations - calculations in determining the number of waveguide modes, in this research, and numerical analysis made in an application program in order to facilitate the determination of the waveguide mode. Research conducted including descriptive research using a numerical approach. Used numerical approach is the bisection method is an ideal method to find a result with the use of iterative or repetitive calculations. Furthermore, with this method using Matlab software program designed 2007.  Were run on the Windows XP operating system  based on research conducted in the form of GUI matlab program that displays the dispersion curves. Generated that variations in physical parameters such as refractive index, thickness and wavelength lebal films and give effect to the number of raised-mode strip waveguides of photonic divices. Where the greater the difference in the refractive index is given, the more the mode waveguides can be missed.

Abstract

Many industrial processes such as steel and cement production produces shaped particles of dust and fly ash. The particles containing pollutants shaped magnetic minerals belonging to the type of iron sulfide minerals iron and titanium sulfide. These pollutants come from the burning of coal. Basically, before burning coal is not magnetic. In the combustion process produces pyrite which decompose and form pyrrhotite and sulfur gases. At temperatures above about 1350 K, pyrrhotite decomposes into iron and sulfur. Iron (Fe) is the most dangerous heavy metals contained in the topsoil. In this study measured the magnetic susceptibility values and elemental composition to analyze the elemental composition Fe of the magnetic susceptibility values,The sample in this study is the topsoil. Measurements of magnetic susceptibility values topsoil samples performed using magnetic susceptibility meter. Then the measurement of the elemental composition of ten samples using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer. Measurement data plotted in the form of a graph to show the relationship of the value of the elemental composition of Fe magnetic suseptbilitas. Meanwhile, the results of magnetic susceptibility meter, magnetic susceptibility values can inform the type of magnetic minerals based on magnetic susceptibility values. The results of this study indicate that the intensity of the magnetic susceptibility is not only influenced by the composition of the elements Fe, but also influenced by other elements contained in topsoil samples, such as Al, Si, Ca, and Ti. Weight percentage of Fe and Ti derived from the main constituent mineral iron is ilmenite, are paramagn

Abstract

TPA Air Dingin are landfills located in Padang and positioned near the inhabitant area. The accumulationof waste at TPA Air Dingin can cause environment pollution. The  aimed  of  this  research  is  to  determine  the resistivity and the spread  of  leachate in TPA Air Dingin. Estimation of the distribution of leachate below the ground surface use a Resistivity Geoelectrical method with Wenner Configuration. Data were collected by ARES Multielectrode in 3 lines. The data were interpreted using Robust inversion to obtain a 2D model of earth’s surface that consists of depth and resistivity value. The result of this research showed that the kinds of rocks in this area consist of Groundwater, Clay, Sandstone and Andesite. Direction of spread of leachate on the measurements, the distribution of leachate moving from the southeast towards the Northwest

Abstract

Bioetanol is the altenative fuel from raw material plant that contains carbohydrate which is the sugarcane plant. The making of biooetanol from sugarcane plant done by the process of distillation. The process of distillation is how separation of liquid from its alloy based on difference in boiling point or based on the ability of a substance to evaporate. The process of distillation unit is referred to as a distillation column. Distillation columns can separate between ethanol and water. The research aims to know the influence of high columns against the resulting bioetanol levels on sugarcane juice. Result on measurement levels bioetanol for each variation of the height of the column is obtained as follows: for the column height of 0 (No column) there are levels of 35%, for the column height of 0,5 metres there are levels of 75%, for the column height of 1 metre there are levels of 86%, and for the column height of 2 metre there are levels of 87%. In this research founded high distillation column influence against the increasingly high levels of bioetanol distillation column which then levels will be higher because bioetanol in column a different pressure loss occurs and the rate of ethanol vapor

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of copper oxide content and analyze the effect of calcination temperature on the physical properties of copper oxide from Pinti kayu areas, district Koto Parik Gadang Diateh regency of  Solok Selatan. This analysis is important to identify the quality of the copper ore. The characterization using X-ray  Fluorescence (XRF) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Based on measurement result (CuO) the percetage of coper oide is about 89.65%. The results of XRD analysis shows due to the influence of calcination temperature at a temperature of 145°C copper oxide structure changes from monoclinic to hexagonal structure at a temperature of 300°C, then at a temperature of 850°C into a cubic structure and at a temperature of 1000°C copper oxide into monoclinic structure
