Abstract

The human person is a quintessential example of appearance necessitating and moderated by what does not appear. The question of what is real concerns non-appearing dynamics of what makes any appearance possible. Concerning human life, what then is the unseen impetus of corporeal life and activity? This is a focus on the animating and motivating impetus of human life that is customarily equated with soul, psyche or the unique I, which actively relates to others, yet remains inaccessible to their gaze, apart from self-representation by words, gestures and actions of a body. Appearance is here dependent on a profound non-appearance without which, there are no human appearances or indeed, appearances of anything to human consciousness. Engaging selected writings of Leibniz, this article gives particular focus to the concept of soul in relation to impetus, appetition and purpose in human appearance as an expressive body.

Abstract

Broken homes are not only experienced by families outside of Christianity, but in Christian families, broken homes also happen a lot. When a broken home occurs, it will have various impacts, especially for the teenage children in that family. Adolescence is a crucial period in the human body, so pastoral counseling assistance is very important for teenagers who experience broken homes. For this reason, the aim of this research is to examine the impact experienced by teenagers who experience broken homes and the importance of pastoral counseling assistance services for them. In this research, descriptive qualitative methods were used. Through studies that have been carried out both in the Bible and literature studies related to the topic of discussion. The research results show that broken home families have a very bad impact on the growth of teenage children in terms of mental, behavioral, social and spiritual aspects. Therefore, effective pastoral counseling assistance services are needed to restore this situation. Such as pastoral counseling services with Supportive-counseling, Confrontational-counseling, Educative-counseling, spiritual-counseling approaches.

Abstract

This article discusses Exodus 20:5, the Bible verse that states that God "will repay the iniquities of parents on children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generations." The main focus is to analyze these meaning texts and understand how the concept of parental transgression can be borne by offspring. Through an exegetical approach, this article explores the literal and symbolic meaning of the verse. While some interpretations tend toward a literal understanding of the remission of sin, this analysis also considers symbolic meanings involving moral responsibility and psychological impact. In addition, this article highlights the theological and ethical framework of understanding related to the concept of resolving generational sin. Discussion involves consideration of the cultural context in which the text was written and how its moral message is relevant in the context of modern society. Thus, this article not only approaches the biblical text theologically, but also seeks its practical application in moral contexts and everyday life. The conclusion leads to a balanced understanding of personal responsibility and the collective impact of parental actions, taking into account the spiritual and ethical values that may be contained in the verse.

Abstract

Nugal is a tradition of planting rice in the fields in cooperation owned by the Dayak tribe. In the spiritual context, this tradition has a focus on spiritual involvement and religious meaning in agricultural activities involving the community, so in this case the research aims to understand the biblical values and also the philosophical meaning of the tradition. Through participatory observation, informal interviews, and literature studies as part of qualitative methods, the author explores the nugal tradition to draw deep meaning in it. The findings show that Dayak farming activities are not just an economic practice, but it is also loaded with noble values that strengthen community solidarity. A deep understanding of the religious dimension in the Dayak Nugal tradition provides valuable insights to develop contextual theology relevant to local cultural realities.

Abstract

Pilgrimage as an important part of every religious service is important in realizing one's faith. The Israelites longed to be able to reflect their faith through the holiday of Sukkoth or the Feast of Tabernacles after hundreds of years of forgetting it because of the conditions and situation of the exile they experienced. Facts on the ground show that until now humans often carry out pilgrimage practices to places that are considered sacred and contain historical aspects. How effective and how to interpret the pilgrimage from the human spiritual dimension to present God in the reality of everyday life.
