Abstract

Sebagai sebuah istilah yang sering digunakan dalam sejarah (khususnya: penulisan sejarah), maka konsep objektifitas 1 (selanjutnya digunakan: objektif) dapat dilihat dari dua sudut pengertian. Pengertian Pertama, mengacu kepada sasaran atau tujuan sejarah itu diteliti dan ditulis. Dapat juga diformulasikan dalam pertanyaan: “untuk apa dan untuk siapa?”. Sementara pengertian yang Kedua, mengacu kepada pertanyaan: “Apakah sejarah bisa bersifat objektif ?”.

Abstract

History proves the Arabs ever gave birth to a great country in the world that is the Abbasid Bani Dynasty. The greatness of this kingdom lasted between the VIII century until the middle of the XIII century AD In addition to the vastness of its territory, this kingdom is also famous for the greatness of the development of science. Various fields of science and the characters are born at this time. As in the science of religion: tafseer, qira'at, hadith, fiqh, qalam, tasauf, and language. In general science: mathematics, science falaq, art, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, pharmacy, agriculture, anstronomy, optics, history, philosophy and other sciences. The great figures of the time were al-Farabi, al-Kindy, ibn Rushd, ibn Sina, ibn Thufail, ibn Bajah, al-Ghazali, ibn Haiyam and other figures. The rapid development of science shows the great progress achieved by the Abbasids. It seems that for now the splendor of the past will be a mere history, hope for the sake of hope does not come true because it is always less competitive with other nations.

Abstract

This essay discusses the diaspora of the Malay world. It actually resembles a nation or group of ethnics cognate that share the same religion and use the same language. In the context of modernity, it is time for Malays to collectively improve their view of Malay by building a different paradigm in the horizontal level through the not-cramped perspective of lokaism, because it is something that is not singular (heterogeneous). So, Malays can identify themselves and make a significant contribution to the global civilization scene. Within the framework of identification and revitalization of Malay, it requires support from various components, both intellectuals and experts, as well as the holders and policy makers in several Malay State nations. A further consequence is the emergence of a kind of strategic alliance between Malays in order to develop science and technology, politics, economics, culture, education and others. Thus, in the context of the modernity of Malay civilization that has found its identity will be advanced as well as will be able to influence the great civilization of the world.

Abstract

The Malay people made Arabic as the medium of instruction in the form of writing by the Malay community. The use of this script is known as Malay Arabic script by adding some Arabic letters by adjusting the sound with Malay language. The first stage of this writing as a communication in trade between the people of Indonesia with Arab traders, then the writers use it as script writing in Malay language. This writing continues to use it as the medium of instruction in Islamic education and teaching to the public. Then the scientists and scholars use it as well as writing characters in writing religious books such as fiqh, tafseer, hadith and tarekat and other writings. After that Malay Arabic script has become a national script of Malay society, including in Indonesia. The Malay Arabic script was used as a newspaper and magazine literature until the arrival of Europeans to the archipelago. Slowly after that Malay Arabic script is no longer used as a national writing script by Malays society including Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the thoughts of Hamka in Malay Islamic Nysties Historiography. The method used is historical method, especially historiography approach. Characteristic of Hamka's work; First, writing techniques; Not using footnotes, style of language; Simple, alive, and communicative. The sources used by Hamka can be grouped into three groups; Primary sources, historical books composed by Muslim authors themselves; Second, the second source of material is the Dutch and British writers' writings on Indonesia and the Malay Land; Third, the third source of material materials that allegedly most of the writers of Islamic history in Indonesia did not get it. While from the Method of Historical Criticism, according to Hamka there are two ways to write history among Muslims; First collecting all the facts wherever it comes from, no matter whether the facts make sense or not, what needs to be taken care of is where this history is received. Second, judging the facts and giving their own opinions, after the facts were collected, this is the system used by Ibn Khaldun.

Abstract

In the twentieth century, South Sumatra was characterized by the religious phenomenon of postmodernism and the problems of religious articulation diversity. To respond to these phenomena and problems, some South Sumatra clerics such as K.H. Anwar Kumpul, K.H. M. Zen Syukri, K.H. Zainal Abidin Fikry formulated thoughts. Subject matter of theocentric theological thought K.H. Anwar Kumpul, K.H. M. Zen Syukri, K.H. Zainal Abidin Fikry consists of: the position of reason, the function of revelation, the concept of faith, human actions, anthropomorphism, beatific vision, the attributes of God, the deeds of God, the power of God, the justice and the word of God. Thought K.H. Anwar Kumpul, K.H. M. Zen Syukri, K.H. Zainal Abidin Fikry is traditional. However, their thinking has an effect on the dynamics and productivity of the people of South Sumatra. This study deconstructs the collective perceptions and memories introduced by Harun Nasution. It conjures that traditional theology is the cause of stagnation.
