JMARS: Jurnal Mosaik Arsitektur mempunyai ISSN 2746-5896 (media online)

Abstract

The society of Kubu Raya Regency has also begun to enjoy drinking coffee, which is shown by the opening of café franchises. In addition, Kubu Raya Regency is the largest coffee producer in West Kalimantan, which produces coffee with a unique flavor. This potential can be beneficial, however the coffee industry condition tends to be slow in progress. The aim of this project is to design facilities for the coffee community and non-coffee community with a climate-responsive design and use of natural elements as natural circulation and natural lighting. The method used in this project consists of, analysis and synthesis techniques. This project is located at Jalan Arteri Supadio, Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. The theme is "Kubu Raya Coffee Communtiy Journey" by forming a coffee community through commercial and educational facilities. Based on educational activities, there are coffee information rooms, personal coffee labs, roasting areas and private coffee classes. The main shape of the building is square with the curved linear circulation, resulting a void that provides natural air and natural lighting. The void area also uses as a coffee garden with a sitting area. The roof is inspired by the Kubu Raya Menanjak logo therefore the roof forms letter "M". The materials used are red bricks, unfinished concrete and steel.

Abstract

The agricultural sector plays an important role in economic activities in Indonesia. Kubu Raya Regency is an agricultural center area with quite large production output, a rice field area of 79,000 ha, and 1,850 farmer groups with a total of 167 farmer group organizations. Kubu Raya Regency already has a Rice Agriculture Training Center, but the facilities and space are inadequate, so development needs to be carried out to meet the needs and comfort of its users. The rice farming training center is a place to learn, practice, and practice in the field of rice farming. The aim of this study is to design a rice agriculture training center by adjusting the facility standards and user comfort of the building used for training, management, and visitor activities. The design method used in this design is the five-step design process method in the book "Introduction to Architecture" proposed by Snyder and Catanese (1984). The design stage begins with the initiation, preparation, proposal-making, evaluation, and action stages. The design concept that will be used adjusts the function and balances the surrounding natural environment. Then supporting facilities were added to increase public interest in coming and increase their knowledge about rice farming. The result is a design for a Rice Agriculture Training Center building with facilities capable of accommodating training activities for farmers, as well as activities for preserving and processing rice agricultural products.
