Abstract

Foklore is part of oral tradition have positive values and deserving of preserved, developed, and utilized to supporting society life. Besides, folklore still scattered in verbal type that function as reveal nature thoughts, attitude, and supporting culture values, on eventually towards new culture forming wider. Folklore included cover (1) people language (folk speech), as patois, epithet, traditional position, and nobility title; (2) traditional expressions, as proverb, adage, and pameo; (3) traditional questions, as puzzle; (4) people poems, as poetry, poe, and poem; (5) prose stories, as mite, legend, myth; and (6) folk songs.

Abstract

Sentani  Lake as an icon of Jayapura has an important role both economically and ecologically. Unfortunately, this lake has been polluted and becoming shallow due to sedimentation. The water quality of this lake getting worse and worse from time to time. Domestic garbage spreads on the side of this lake. It seems that Sentani Lake has changed to be a giant garbage dam. One major factor causing this condition is the deforest of cycloop mountain. As an upstream and resource of water, Cycloop mountain should be protected from the destruction. This paper tries to offer a new way of threatening environment through revitalization of myth. As a product of oral tradition, we could learn about the identity, way of life, belief, value, and culture of such a community from myth.

Abstract

The simple writing still speak about two main issues, there are social series and code alternation. Both of issue above based on language circumstances in Bugis diaspora's community at Jayapura, Papua Province. In this context, social series are researched by consider pattern and social relationship structure Bugi's person and language perpuse in their social structure. Here after, commnication affair and social interaction in Bugis Papua's community is interposed to show code alternation form in communities social relationship most conceive of one important sociolinguistic issue. Besides, less of this study about Bugi's comer at Papua also as judgement to lift this topic.

Abstract

Each tribe at Papua is ensured have oral tradition by itself. The oral tradition misses fire by itself. Even, oral tradition comes into the world as expression of society dynamics with moral values, norm, manner, and local character. Those values as society identity, as well in internal community and also external. Papuan oral tradition will more effective if it shaped in a grand design or scheme on grows arranged by comprehensive and permanent for development formulation at Papua Province.

Abstract

Local wisdom developments that relevant and contextual have necessary meaning for progress a nation, particulaly if it is seen from culture tobustness side and its region identity. Culture of society consist of all something which shall be known or trusted by someone to be able to behavior in admissible by member of society itself. Culture constitutes organization of man's think (mind), model were had by man to accept, connect, and interpreted various phenomenon kind significant. When we develop the concept to empirical domain, we agreed that culture also concern feel accepts elements from outside, regard, refuse, relate, and gives good or bad assessment.

Abstract

Wisecrack and anecdote as part of folklore will linger in society because have function in that society. Folklore's form like anecdote or mop and wisecrack are still make a abode lush at Papuan because really functioning. There are many person considered that wisecrack and anecdote (mop) are one of black humor form. According to expert, black humor can function as attenuator for unsatisfactory, abomination, and confusion. Pragmatic, one of linguistics branch, is study about meaning in its relationship with situation says. With pragmatic through study of saying implicate that available in wisecrack and anecdote (mop) Papuan gets to be known that is still a lot of Papuan society that its science about things which concern its knock about life less is equal too, e.g. concerns health, education, the right and obligation as citizen, etc.
