Abstract

Abstract This present study was administered to develop supplementary reading comprehension materials for the tenth grade students of Automotive Mechanical skills Program. The writer applied Research and Development study (R&D). The participants of the research were tenth grade students of Automotive Mechanical Skills Program of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak in academic year 2015/2016 and also the English teacher who taught the class. The data of the present study were collected by interview, questionnaire, observation table checklist and validation table checklist. This study found that the problem in the existing reading material was irrelevancy of the materials with the program of the students. Furthermore, about 74,1% students stated that they need reading materials related to their program. Therefore reading comprehension materials needed to be developed. From the finding, there were eight requirements needed to be met. They were suited to syllabus, related to the automotive mechanical skills program, contained  vocabularies related to program, contained interesting materials, contained enjoyable activities, could be coped by the teacher and students, related to the students’ prior knowledge and must be contextual. As the result, the reading materials developed by the writer had met all the requirements. It got positive responses from both the teacher and students.  Keywords: Developing Material, Reading Comprehension, Automotive   Mechanical Skills Program.

Abstract

AbstractLiving your daily life will not be separated from one's self-confidence in yourself, others, the environment and society. Self-confidence is a belief that someone has for himself so he feels able to do something. This confidence is one of the determinants of one's success both in the scope of the school and others.The problems in this study are (1) What is the stage of forming group counseling services to increase self-confidence of class VIII students in Pontianak State Junior High School, (2) What is the transition stage of group counseling services to increase the confidence of class VIII students in State Junior High Schools 20 Pontianak, (3) What is the stage of group counseling service activities to increase self-confidence of class VIII students in Pontianak State Junior High School, (4) What is the stage of termination of group counseling services to increase the confidence of class VIII students in Pontianak.The method used is descriptive method and the form of research is a form of relationship study. The population in this study were 35 students of Pontianak State Junior High School 20. This study uses a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques with questionnaires, while data analysis techniques use the percentage formula.Based on the results of this study indicate that the group counseling services to increase the confidence of class VIII students in the State Junior High School 20 Pontianak are the stages of formation, transition and termination with the category "Very Good" while the activity phase is categorized as "Enough". Then it can be concluded that in this study "There is effectiveness in Group Counseling Services to Improve the Confidence of Class VIII Students in Pontianak Pontianak Middle School." Keywords:       Group Counseling Services, Enhancing Self Confidence

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine how much utilization of city parks as a place of sports activities in the city of Pontianak. Conducted in the Kapuas Square Park with an area of 14,450 m2, Taman Digulis with an area of 818.6 m2, and the Sylva Arboterum Park and the Untan Plaza with an area of 1,750 m2. The research approach used in this research is quantitative descriptive and research design using a study cross sectional approach. The research subjects were park visitors, amounting to 30 people in each park and subject taking based on observations made on the subject had a purpose that needed to be studied further by using Random Probability Sampling. The results of this study, namely Taman Digulis, have the most answers. It is useful as a place for sports activities in Pontianak, which is 22 people (73.3%), Sylva Arboterum Park and Untan Plaza have a useful role as a place of sports activities in Pontianak City, which is 27 people ( 90.7%), Taman Kapuas Square has the most value with a role that is useful as a place of sports activities in the city of Pontianak, amounting to 25 people (83.8%).  Keywords: Utilization, City Park, Sports Activities

Abstract

AbstractThis research have purpose to see how far media learning is used by teacher especially in sociology subject in Sungai Raya Senior High School 1. Method which used in this research is descriptive method in form of qualitative research about media learning’s utilization by sociology teacher in basic level of senior high school. The result of this research is utilization of leaning media especially in sociology subject in basic level still not optimal condition. This is related to some media like infocus need some preparation which wasting much time so in mostly time teacher rarely use this media in learning process. In the other side, in the school areas has been facillitated with wireless internet network which teoritically can support learning activities especially in sociology subject but this facility still indecent to do as it should be. That is because the lack network coverage to reach some point in the school .the other problem is related to the lack of student motivation and some caused by the lack of teacher abilities to maintain and organize learning activity in the class. Keywords : utilization in learning media,sociology teacher, sociology media learning

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted to find out the effect of using concept map of graphic organizer on teaching writing descriptive text. The population of this research was all of Year ? 8 students of SMP Negeri 7 Sungai Raya KabupatenKubu Raya in Academic Year 2018/2019, and the writer took the sample by using lottery from Year ? 8 Class D which consist of 28 students. The writer conducted this research through pre-experimental research with one group pre-test and post-test design. The writer collected the data using a measurement technique to measure students writing descriptive text, and the writer used an essay form which consists of instructional objectives. The findings showed that the students? mean score of pre ? test was 49.07 and after the treatment, students? mean score of post ? test was 67.86. Therefore, the finding also showed the result of the t-test was 17.56 that higher than t-table 2.052 with ?=0.05. It showed that null hypothesis (HO) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) that the use of concept map does affect the teaching of writing descriptive text is accepted. In conclusion, concept map of graphic organizer was significantly affects students? writing in descriptive text.Key Words: Writing, Descriptive Texts, Concept Map

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted to design and to develop powerpoint-based learning multimedia for recount texts and to evaluate whether or not the multimedia is feasible for teaching recount text to Year-9 Students of SMP N 19 Pontianak. The multimedia consists of instructions to use it, learning objectives, materials about recount texts, examples of recount texts, and questions regarding recount text itself, as well as the score to students work on the questions. The materials were taken from students’ and teachers’ book that the researcher had simplified. The presence research was Research and Development (R&D). The procedures were adapted from ADDIE Model proposed by Hannafin and Peck Model (1987), it uses three phases approach: Analysis, Design and Development. The guideline to do the research was the result of analysis phase. From the analysis phase the researcher has figured the challenges faced by the students and the teacher. Based on the questionnaire given to the students, most of them answered that learning Recount text by using multimedia was interesting and helpful. Design phase covered all the aspects which became the focus of the multimedia, the curriculum used by the school, the roles of the teacher and students, the materials selected, and structure of the multimedia. The development phase was conducted to develop and to evaluate the powerpoint-based learning multimedia. The evaluation result shows that the multimedia was classified as very good with score 85.71% by the expert. According to the result of evaluation phase, the multimedia is considered to be feasible to be applied by the teachers to teach Recount text.Keywords: Powerpoint, Multimedia, Recount text.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study were to describe the learning interest and learning outcome of class XII students SMAN 9 Pontianak using edmodo-based blended learning model on solubility and solubility product topic after being given remedial and enrichment using edmodo. Research design was was experimental study with one-shot case study. Students of class XII MIA 1 were selected as sample using cluster random sampling technique. Collecting data technique were measurement, indirect communication, direct communication and observation. Learning outcome test, interest questionnaire, observation sheet and interview guidelines were used to collect data. The results revealed that the students were interested in learning using an edmodo-based blended learning model with interprestation of interest in learning was very strong categorie (85,8 %). The average results of learning outcomes of the remedial and enrichment using edmodo test was very good categorie (80,5).Keywords: Edmodo-based Blended Learning Model, Interest, learning outcomes, solubility and solubility product

Abstract

Abstract The aims of this study were to determine the validity of refutation text-based chemistry worksheet on material hydrocarbon  and to measure student?s  response. The form of this research was research and development (R & D) that adapted from the Four D (4D) model. The subject of this study was refutation text-based chemistry worksheet which was on 10 and 37 students of SMAN 3 Pontianak at the initial trial and main trial respectively. Data collection instruments used were validity assessment sheets and studeny?s response questionnaire. The results of data processing showed that material aspect gave 90.0%, language aspect gave 85.2%, and graphic aspect gave 87.4%. Based on student?s response questionnaire, the response  result in the initial trial and in the main trial were 88.1% and 86.7% respectively. These datas showed  that student?s response to refutation text-based chemistry worksheet was classified as very high category. Keywords:  Chemistry Worksheet, Refutation Text, Hydrocarbon Compound

Abstract

AbstractThis thesis is entitled ?The Implementation of Pedagogic Competence of Sociology Teachers in Learning Processes at SMAN 1 Sungai Raya?. The common problem is How the Implementation of Pedagogic Competence in Sociology Teachers in the Learning Processes at SMAN 1 Sungai Raya. The problems in this study are: 1) Knowing the characteristics of learners 2) Mastering of learning theory and the principles of learning sociology 3) Developing curriculum 4) Learning activities 5) Developing students potential 6) Communicating with students 7) Assessment and evaluation. The techniques which are used to collecting data are observation, interview and documentation. Then, the data collection tools in the form of observation and documentation guidelines. The results of this study indicated that: 1) Sociology teachers know the characteristics of students. 2) Sociology teachers master the learning theory and the principles of learning sociology 3) In developing the curriculum, sociology teachers still do not master. 4) The learning activities do in active activities; it can be seen from the teachers pay attention the students well. 5) Sociology teachers look active in developing students learning. 6) It has a good communication between the students and their teachers. 7) Sociology teachers always make an assessments and evaluations in learning. Keywords : Pedagogic Competence, Teachers, Sociology

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the application of the student teams achievement divisions type of cooperative learning model on function material in the 8th grade SMPN 07 Paloh. The research method was experiment and the form of was pre-experimental design with one shot case study. 28 students of 8th A SMPN 07 Paloh were taken as the research samples. Indicators used to determine the effectiveness of learning using the student teams achievement divisions type of cooperative learning model are : implementation of learning, student’s learning activity, student’s learning outcomes, and student’s responses. Data collection techniques used are documentation techniques, measurement techniques, observation techniques, and indirect communication techniques. The data collection tools are, the implementation of learning observation sheet, the student’s learning activity observation sheet, the student’s learning outcomes test and student’s responses questionnaire. The result of data analysis showed that the implementation of learning are classified as good, the student’s learning activity is active, student’s learning outcomes completeness achieved classically, and students provide a positive responses to learning. The application of the student teams achievement divisions type of cooperative learning model on function material in the 8 th grade SMPN 07 Paloh is effective.
